Al Abdulghani Motors, the authorised distributor of Toyota, is proud to announce the conclusion of the first-ever Toyota GR Yaris Cup Qatar 2025. Launched in January with the support of Toyota Motor Corporation, the inaugural championship saw ten skilled racers compete across four exhilarating rounds in a thrilling showcase of motorsports excellence in Qatar. Following the resounding success of the tournament, Al Abdulghani Motors looks ahead in anticipation to a more dynamic and exciting second season.
The ceremony was attended by Abdulghani Nasser Al Abdulghani, CEO of Al Abdulghani Motors, Abdo Sweidan, Chief Operating Officer, members of Al Abdulghani family, senior management, sponsors, and representatives from the media.

Between January and April 2025, ten accomplished racers – sponsored by Qatar National Bank (QNB), Ooredoo, Al Araby 2/Winwin, Chedid Insurance Brokers, I Love Qatar (ILQ), Qatar Living, IPrint, ENEOS/QALCO, Moteri Autocare Center, and Al Abdulghani Motors – battled for victory over the course of four intense rounds. Competing in high-performance GR Yaris vehicles, the racers delivered an excellent display of power, endurance, and strength. The GR Yaris vehicles used in the championship demonstrate that sustainability and high-performance racing can go hand in hand—delivering speed and control.
In a landmark celebration of regional collaboration, Al Abdulghani Motors joined forces with Mohamed Naser Al Sayer & Sons Est. Co., Toyota's official distributor in Kuwait, for the inaugural Toyota GR Yaris Regional Cup. Held at Kuwait Motor Town, the championship brought together racers from both the Qatar and Kuwait teams in a dynamic showcase of the power, excellence, and endurance of the GR Yaris. The Regional Cup represented a major milestone for Toyota Motorsports in the region, underscoring Al Abdulghani Motors' commitment to cultivating a vibrant motorsports culture across Qatar and in the region. Adding to the momentum, the third round of the Toyota GR Yaris Cup Qatar was held concurrently in Kuwait, further strengthening the partnership and regional unity.
The Toyota GR Yaris Cup Qatar concluded with a spectacular finale on April 25 at the Lusail International Circuit.
Building on the previous three rounds, the dramatic final round featured an adrenaline-fuelled showdown with the ten racers competing for the coveted title. In the end, Team QNB – represented by Faisal Al Yafei and Khaled Al Maraghi – won first place. Team ENEOS/QALCO, led by Saadon Al Kuwari, secured second place, followed by Team Qatar Living in third place, represented by Izz Bustami.
Beyond the racetrack, all four rounds of the event featured an array of family-friendly activities designed to create an immersive motorsports experience for attendees of all ages. Fans enjoyed interactive zones, racing simulators, and hot laps, reaffirming Al Abdulghani Motors' dedication to making motorsports accessible to all.
Following the success of the first season of the Toyota GR Yaris Cup Qatar, Al Abdulghani Motors will return with the second season in 2026, promising to deliver all the thrill and excitement that motorsports fans in Qatar have come to expect. With plans to expand participation, enhance fan experiences, and deepen regional partnerships, the upcoming season will elevate the championship to new heights and will underscore Al Abdulghani Motors' commitment to nurturing the vibrant motorsports scene both locally and regionally.

This year's edition witnessed a high turnout and strong engagement, with over 400 participants taking part. The activities lasted for a full month and were organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Endowments & Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Interior represented by the Directorate of Studies and International Affairs, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Qatar Red Crescent, Qatar Shooting, Archery & Bow Federation, Ihsan Center, and Aspire Academy. The closing ceremony featured a brief showcase of sports activities the students participated in during the programme, such as football, basketball, shooting, swimming and martial arts. These activities, supervised by officers and coaches from Qatar Armed Forces Sports Association, helped develop the students' athletic skills and provided an opportunity to discover numerous sporting talents. At the end of the ceremony, the Chief of Staff honoured the entities that participated in the summer programme, in the presence of several senior commanders and officers from the Armed Forces, as well as the participants' parents.

Arab TT 2025 to be held in Morocco from Sept 10
Tribune News Network Doha The Arab Table Tennis Association has announced that Morocco will host the Arab Table Tennis Championship 2025, which will be held from September 10 to 18. The tournament includes team, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions, and covers the following age groups: men's and women's teams (born in 2005 and older), youth teams under 19, junior teams under 17, junior teams under 15, hopeful teams under 13, and junior teams under 11. The Arab Table Tennis Association has appointed international referee Abdullah Boujaham as the tournament's general referee, while international referee Abdelhadi Boukhira or international referee Ahmed Benamou will serve as the assistant referee. The tournament draw is scheduled for September 10, and the hall will open for training on September 9. The Arab Table Tennis Association, headed by Qatari Khalil Al Mohannadi, announced the dates for the 36th edition of the Arab Clubs Championship in the Sultanate of Oman, which will take place from August 30 to September 4.

QSL holds technical meeting for Doha Bank Stars League first leg
Tribune News Network Doha The Qatar Stars League (QSL) convened a technical meeting for the first leg of the 2025-2026 League season at its headquarters at Aspire Zone's iconic 2022 building. The meeting, held on Tuesday, brought together key figures including Ahmed Salman Al Adsani, Director of Competitions at QSL; Ahmed Abdullah Al Sayed, Head of Football Operations at QSL; Jassim Al Hail, Representative of the Referees Department of the Qatar Football Association; and representatives of all participating clubs. Opening the session, Al Adsani welcomed the attendees and extended his appreciation for the continued collaboration between the QSL, club companies, and all stakeholders. He expressed his best wishes for a successful and competitive football season ahead. Several important points were discussed during the meeting. Emphasis was placed on the need for full commitment and cooperation with all involved parties, including organisers and match officials. Detailed procedures for match-day operations were reviewed, along with protocols for accreditation and identification of official zones. The timetables for team attendance and submission of player rosters were also outlined. Additionally, the meeting clarified new technical regulations for the season. These include a limit of five substitutions per team, with the provision for one emergency substitution in the event of a suspected concussion. In such cases, the opposing team is also granted the right to make an additional substitution. Lastly, confirmation of each team's official kits, both main and reserve, was finalised.
