EU tells Israel to stop killing Gazans at aid points - War on Gaza

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas told her Israeli counterpart Tuesday that Israel's military "must stop" killing civilians at aid distribution points in Gaza. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the bloc also condemned any attacks against the World Health Organization after the agency said its facilities in Gaza had been targeted by Israeli forces. Kallas wrote on X that "the killing of civilians seeking aid in Gaza is indefensible". "I spoke again with Gideon Saar to recall our understanding on aid flow and made clear that IDF must stop killing people at distribution points," she wrote. The European Union early this month said it had struck a deal with Israel to allow more access into Gaza amid Israel's devastating military operation. Kallas has laid out a series of actions that EU states could take against Israel unless the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza improves. "All options remain on the table if Israel doesn't deliver on its pledges," Kallas wrote in a post on X. European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen joined the calls by saying "civilians cannot be targets. Never." "The images from Gaza are unbearable," von der Leyen wrote. "Civilians in Gaza have suffered too much, for too long. It must stop now. Israel must deliver on its pledges." EU officials have said there have been some improvements for aid access to Gaza, but that a lot more needs to be done. "Channels are open and pressure is actually being put on the Israeli counterpart, so time is of the essence," EU spokesman Anouar El Anouni said. The spokesman also condemned attacks on "any WHO premises or any hospitals" after the UN agency said Monday its facilities in Gaza had come under Israeli attack. "Let's be clear: premises of WHO must not be attacked and must be protected," he said. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the Israeli military had entered the UN agency's staff residence, forced women and children to evacuate on foot, and handcuffed, stripped and interrogated male staff at gunpoint. Arab League Welcomes Joint Statement Urging Immediate Gaza Ceasefire

Mohamed Mandour Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Tuesday welcomed a joint statement issued by 28 countries—including key European powers such as the United Kingdom and France—demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The statement condemned what it described as the 'inhumane killing of civilians, including children, as they attempted to access basic necessities like water and food,' and warned that civilian suffering in Gaza had reached 'new depths.' In remarks conveyed by his spokesperson, Jamal Rushdi, Aboul Gheit said the statement represents a growing international consensus rejecting what he termed Israel's ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing in Gaza. 'Such a declaration is important,' Aboul Gheit noted, 'but words must now be translated into action and real pressure must be exerted on the occupying power to halt the daily massacre inflicted on Palestinians in Gaza.' He highlighted the staggering toll of the war, stating that more than 800 people have been killed in cold blood while waiting at humanitarian aid distribution centers. Rushdi added that Israel is pursuing a strategy of forced displacement 'through daily killings, starvation, denial of basic supplies, evacuation orders, and blocking the entry of humanitarian aid—making life in Gaza unlivable.' He called on the international community to take meaningful action to end the violence and to uphold international humanitarian law, which he said is being flagrantly and unprecedentedly violated by the Israeli occupation. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

OIC Warns of Israeli Occupation's Plans to Impose Control over Ibrahimi Mosque

Mohamed Mandour The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, delivered a speech at the opening session of the open-ended emergency meeting of the OIC Executive Committee at the level of Permanent Representatives regarding the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the targeting of holy sites in the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil. The meeting was held at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. The Secretary-General stated that this meeting was held to discuss a new Israeli attack on the Islamic identity of Palestinian cities, represented by the withdrawal of administrative and historical powers over the Ibrahimi Mosque from the Palestinian side. This attack represents one episode in a series of Israeli aggressions against the Ibrahimi Mosque since the occupation of the city on June 8, 1967. Taha affirmed that the OIC rejects and warns against the danger of the Israeli occupation's plans aimed at imposing full control over the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil, Judaizing it, and altering its identity and historical landmarks. He added that the OIC also condemns the blatant attacks on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the bombing of churches and mosques in Gaza City in flagrant violation of human values and international conventions. He noted that all these measures aimed at Judaizing the city of Al-Quds and isolating it from its Palestinian surroundings are illegitimate and invalid under international law and United Nations resolutions. In his address before the permanent representatives of the OIC Member States, the Secretary-General emphasized that the continuation of this unprecedented humanitarian crisis constitutes a war crime, a stain on the entire humanity, and a violation of the principles of justice and human dignity. He called for the need to multiply international efforts to pressure the Israeli occupation in order to achieve a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire, open all crossings, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and ensure a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. He also emphasized the need to enable the Palestinian government to assume its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip and begin the reconstruction process. This emergency meeting of the OIC's Executive Committee, at the level of permanent representatives, is being held amid the unprecedented worsening of the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing crimes of genocide, starvation, and forced displacement perpetrated by the Israeli occupation and the escalation of Israeli attacks on both Islamic and Christian places of worship. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks
