Marty Supreme: One of 2025's biggest mysteries finally receives a trailer
One of the biggest mysteries on the 2025 film calendar finally receives a trailer. A24 released the first footage of Marty Supreme, Josh Safdie's sports dramedy starring Timothée Chalamet. Marty Supreme stars Chalamet as Marty Mauser, a ping pong player in the 1950s who will go to 'hell and back in pursuit of greatness.' The confident Marty believes his purpose in life is an 'obligation,' not a blessing. Recommended Videos Marty champions ping pong culture as he travels overseas to compete against the world's best players. 'I know it's hard to believe, but I'm telling you, this game, it fills stadiums overseas,' Marty says in the trailer. 'And it's only a matter of time before I'm staring at you from the cover of a Wheaties box.' Gwyneth Paltrow plays a movie star who has an affair with Marty. While Paltrow provided her voice in 2022's She Said, the Academy Award-winning actress has not appeared in a film since 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Marty Supreme's cast includes Odessa A'zion, Kevin O'Leary ('Mr. Wonderful' on Shark Tank), Tyler Okonma ('Tyler, the Creator'), Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher as Marty's mother. Josh Safdie directs Marty Supreme from a screenplay he wrote with Ronald Bronstein. It marks Safdie's first feature film since 2019's Uncut Gems. Marty Supreme is the first time Safdie helms a film without his brother Benny since 2008's The Pleasure of Being Robbed. Marty Supreme is a fictionalized account of Marty Reisman, who won five bronze medals while representing the United States at the World Table Tennis Championships. Chalamet is coming off a successful turn as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. James Mangold's biopic grossed $140 million and received eight Oscar nominations, including Best Actor for Chalamet. The 29-year-old is currently filming Dune: Part Three, the epic conclusion to Denis Villeneuve's Dune saga. With a budget of $70 million, Marty Supreme is the most expensive A24 film of all time. Marty Supreme opens in theaters on December 25, 2025.

LiAngelo Ball Quit $3K A Month In The G League To Rap, Can You Blame Him?
Source: Christopher Polk / Getty LiAngelo Ball has made a big switch from basketball to music, and according to him, it was an easy choice. Swerving and bending that corner has made him more than posting up and shooting. In a recent interview with the Bag Fuel podcast, he shared that while playing in the NBA G League, he was only making $3,000 a month. As a grown man trying to build a life, that paycheck wasn't cutting it. So when he started getting paid from music, he didn't think twice. 'I wasn't sitting there like, 'Damn, I gotta keep hooping,'' he said. His song 'Tweaker' went viral and helped him land a major record deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group. The deal is rumored to be worth up to $13 million, with $8 million guaranteed, a huge step up from what he was making in basketball. We care about your data. See our privacy policy. In July, Ball dropped his first album, League of My Own , where he opened up about some of the personal drama he's been going through. Earlier in the year, as 'Tweaker' was blowing up, his ex and mother of his children, Miss Nikki Baby, called him out on social media. She accused him of leaving her and their kids for another woman, Rashida Nicole, and said he was an absent father. Ball denied those claims and chose to respond in his music. On his song 'Wine N Dine,' he raps, 'They kick me when I'm down, so can you pick me up? / Say I'm a deadbeat daddy who don't give no f-cks.' The lyrics show that he's trying to tell his side of the story and express how all the drama has affected him. LiAngelo's move into music is about more than just the money; it's about doing what makes him happy and taking control of his own path. So far, it looks like that choice is working out. See social media's reaction to him switching careers below. LiAngelo Ball Quit $3K A Month In The G League To Rap, Can You Blame Him? was originally published on

‘Batman Part II' details revealed as Robert Pattinson sets to start filming
The Bat-Signal is on. 'The Batman: Part II' starring Robert Pattinson will finally begin filming in the spring of 2026, Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed in a letter to shareholders on Thursday, per Variety. The sequel is set to be released on Oct. 1, 2027, the company stated. 9 Robert Pattinson in 'The Batman.' ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection In addition, the shareholder letter revealed that James Gunn is writing the next film in the 'Super family' following the success of his 'Superman' remake. 'The Batman,' directed by Matt Reeves, came out in March 2022 and grossed over $770 million worldwide. Pattinson, 39, portrayed the Dark Knight alongside Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Andy Serkis as Alfred. 9 Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves on the set of 'The Batman.' ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection 9 Robert Pattinson in 'The Batman.' ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection The sequel, which will again star Pattinson, has been pushed back multiple times, most recently from Oct. 2, 2026 to Oct. 1, 2027. In June, Reeves, 59, confirmed on Instagram he finished the script for the sequel. That same month, Gunn, who is the new head of DC Studios with his longtime producer Peter Safran, defended the film's delayed release in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. 9 Matt Reeves attends the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards in Feb. 2025. Pictures/DC Comics 'People should get off Matt's nuts because it's like, let the guy write the screenplay in the amount of time he needs to write it,' said Gunn, 59. 'That's just the way it is. He doesn't owe you something because you like his movie. I mean, you like his movie because of Matt. So let Matt do things the way he does.' Gunn went on to say that he's 'irritated' with fans hounding Reeves to speed up the process of making the sequel. 'I mean, it's just that thing people don't need to be entitled about,' he told EW. 'It's going to come out when he feels good about the screenplay. And Matt's not going to give me the screenplay until he feels good about the screenplay.' 9 Zoe Kravitz, Robert Pattinson in 'The Batman.' 'I started out as young Batman and I'm going to be f–king old Batman by the sequel,' the actor stated. Since 'The Batman' came out, Pattinson was in Bong Joon-ho's sci-fi film 'Mickey 17' and filmed Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic 'The Odyssey.' He will also be in Denis Villeneuve's 'Dune: Part Three.' Despite being called 'woke' by some social media users, Gunn's 'Superman' starring David Corenswet has performed well at the box office, boasting over $500 million worldwide since its July 11 release. The action flick also got positive reviews from critics. 9 David Corenswet as Superman. ©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection Gunn recently told EW that he's working on a follow-up to 'Superman,' adding, 'But is it a straight-up 'Superman' sequel? I would not say necessarily.' The next movie in the new DC Universe is 'Supergirl' starring 'House of the Dragon' actress Milly Alcock. Craig Gillespie is directing the film, which is set for release on June 26, 2026. It will be followed by 'Clayface' starring Tom Rhys Harries, which comes out Sept. 11, 2026. 'Superman' came out around the same time as Marvel's 'Fantastic Four,' which has performed notably worse at the box office. The film, starring Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby, suffered a 66% second weekend drop. 'Superman,' meanwhile, only saw a 53% drop in its second weekend.
