Customer gobsmacked after police step in to deliver pizza after driver arrested

Independent14-07-2025
A customer got a surprise when two police officers turn up at her door to deliver her pizza rather than the driver, as he'd been arrested.
Footage shared by Phoenix 's Tempe Police Department on Saturday (12 July) shows officers handcuffing an individual outside his car, before retrieving the food from inside.
The officers can then be seen ringing a customer's doorbell and telling her: 'Your GrubHub guy got arrested but we're still delivering your pizza', to which the woman's face drops in shock before thanking them.
Sharing the footage online, the force said: 'The order was Hot-N-Ready, and the suspect was Caught-N-Steady.'

EXCLUSIVE PICTURED: Delta co-pilot arrested by feds for disgusting child sex crimes as plane landed in San Francisco

The Delta Airlines co-pilot arrested moments after his plane landed at San Francisco Airport on suspicion of appalling child sex crimes has been named and pictured. Rustom Bhagwagar, 34, was cuffed and arrested by Contra County detectives around 9.35pm after his flight, Delta 2809, from Minneapolis touched down at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday. It can now be revealed Bhagwagar, of Florida, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on five counts of oral copulation with a child under the age of 10. Bhagwagar, who was seen donning his pilot uniform in his stone-faced mugshot, is being held in jail in lieu of a $5 million bail, according to jail records viewed by Daily Mail. In viral video footage, plain clothed Homeland Security investigators were seen swarming the aircraft before nabbing Bhagwagar. They were assisting the Contra County Sheriff's Department after receiving a tip about alleged sex crimes against a child, a spokesperson with the Department of Homeland Security told Daily Mail. A Ramey arrest warrant, which is issued by a judge before criminal charges are filed, was then served to the suspect. Federal Aviation records viewed by Daily Mail reveal Bhagwagar was licensed to fly a Boeing 757-300 – the same type of plane used for the Delta 2809 flight on Saturday evening. Confirming his arrest and releasing his mugshot, Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said in a statement to Daily Mail: 'Detectives from the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Investigation Division have been conducting an investigation since April 2025 after receiving a report of sex crimes against a child. The agents were seen wearing law enforcement badges around their necks and their faces cropped out of the footage shared online 'Through the investigation, it was learned that the suspect was an airline pilot and that he was due to fly into San Francisco International Airport on the evening of Saturday, July 26, 2025.' Dramatic video captured the moment the disgraced pilot got arrested as federal authorities stormed the aircraft shortly after it landed in California. The agents were seen wearing law enforcement badges around their necks and their faces cropped out of the footage shared online. After the first set of agents slapped handcuffs on Bhagwager, a second team of agents returned to the plane to collect the unidentified co-pilot's personal belongings. The arrest appeared to shock the other employees on the flight, including the remaining pilot. That pilot, who has not been identified, 'had no idea what just happened,' View from the Wing reported. Passengers were also left in awe, as one recalled asking a member of the flight crew what was happening. 'I looked at him and said "What's going on?" He said, "I have no idea,"' the passenger told Fox 9. 'And he genuinely looked like this was a surprise, that all of a sudden there was people on the plane, because he had us stand up, we were starting to take our stuff out for arrival and everybody was already in the overhead bin.' Another passenger told the San Francisco Chronicle exactly what they saw while sitting in first class. 'A group of people with badges, guns and different agency vests/markings were pushing their way through the aisle to the cockpit,' they told the outlet.

Angola fuel hike protests turn violent, local media report

LUANDA, July 28 (Reuters) - Protests in Angola's capital over a hike in the price of diesel turned violent on Monday, with local media reporting that several people had been killed and many arrested following looting incidents and clashes with police. The Southern African oil-producing country hiked the diesel price by one-third this month as part of a long-running government drive to curb costly subsidies and shore up public finances. Minibus taxi associations have hiked fares by up to 50% and went on a three-day strike starting Monday. The Novo Jornal newspaper reported on its website that at least three people had been killed in the protests, including a police officer. The police used tear gas and smoke grenades, also firing shots into the air to try to restore calm, Novo Jornal said. The police said in a statement that shops in the capital Luanda had been looted. The statement said police had made arrests but did not give the number. Angola's finance minister told Reuters in October that fuel subsidies amounted to around 4% of economic output last year and that the government would continue removing them in phases. A petrol price hike in 2023 also triggered deadly protests.
