And whether it's because of sunburn, or because it's just too hot outside, there are plenty of new TV shows and films arriving on Netflix in July to help make staying indoors feel less painful.
After an almost 30-year wait, Adam Sandler reprises his role as Happy Gilmore in the long-awaited comedy sequel. Also landing on Netflix in July is The Old Guard 2, the sequel to Charlize Theron's 2020 action flick.
As for TV shows, there are several documentary series to sink your teeth into, from Attack On London: Hunting The 7/7 Bombers to Amy Bradley is Missing. As for scripted TV, The Sandman returns to Netflix for its second - and final - season, with other shows including Untamed, a new thriller series starring Eric Bana.
There is also Building the Band, a new reality competition show which sees musicians trying to build their dream bands, without meeting one another face to face. Hosted by the Backstreet Boys' AJ McLean, judges for the show including Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland and the late One Direction star Liam Payne, whose family approved the show to air.
If anime is more what you're after, Leviathan - based on the book series by Scott Westerfield - may be more what you are interested in. The new alternate history series is set in 1914 and follows a fugitive prince of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and a young Scottish girl who disguises herself as a boy to serve in the British Air Service, as they are thrown together.

Releasing on Tuesday, July 1, Attack on London: Hunting The 7/7 Bombers is a documentary series which will cover one of the most devastating terror attacks on UK soil. 2 . The Old Guard 2
The sequel to the 2020 action-fantasy film, The Old Guard 2 sees Charlize Theron return as Andromache of Scythia – or Andy, as she is also known – a centuries-old mercenary. Out to protect the world, Andy and her team must face a mysterious threat which could unravel everything she has worked towards for thousands of years. 3 . Tour de France: Unchained (S3)
The final season of Tour de France: Unchained will roll onto Netflix on Wednesday, July 2 as it follows the vents of the world's biggest cycling race. 4 . The Sandman (S2)
Returning to Netflix for a second and final series is The Sandman. Starring Tom Sturridge as Dream of the Endless, the fantasy epic will see him attempt to save himself, his kingdom and the waking world from the fallout of his previous actions. The first six episodes will be released on Thursday, July 3, with episodes 7-11 arriving on Thursday, July 24 and the final episode to be released on Thursday, July 31. Cate Blanchett has addressed how her hugely-secretive Squid Game guest appearance in the show's final episode came about and where it could go next. The South Korean Netflix phenomenon bowed out this summer after becoming the biggest show ever to hit the platform, detailing a dystopian death match that's now entered the popular vernacular, with a pink and green wardrobe that's Halloween-ready. Among the many surprises during the final season, at the top of the list was Blanchett, 56, appearing in the final scene as a Squid Game recruiter based in Los Angeles. In the scene, the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) is driving through the city when he looks down an alley and spots Blanchett's character, suited and booted, playing a game of ddakji with a homeless man. The set-up is identical to how Gong Yoo's salesman first recruited Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) on a subway platform at night, playing the same slap-centric version of the game. Blanchett has now said the offer to appear on the show 'came out of the blue' before she agrred to film the top-secret final scene. The 56-year-old told the publication that she didn't even do a wardrobe fitting for the unnamed role, instead bringing her own suit to filming and learning 'very quickly' to play ddakji. 'I had to practice and practice,' she said. 'I knew there were four or five setups that they were going to do, and I knew what they needed from every shot, and then I was given the [script pages]. But it was one of the more mysterious jobs.' TV Editor Sabrina Barr shares her take… The final season, which Metro was able to watch in its entirety before the release, is darn near-perfect. Almost. While creator Hwang Dong-hyuk didn't initially have the three seasons mapped out, he concludes the tale of Player 456, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) in a seamless way that feels as though it was always meant to be a three-part story. As for why season three isn't a clear 10/10, the main qualm I have pertains to a group of characters who are so distracting they bring me back to real life with a sharp jolt – the VIPs. Their presence is jarring and feels unnecessary, even if the intention is to demonstrate who the game is being held for. But, the final moments of season three genuinely made me jaw drop in the best way possible. The chief takeaway from Blanchett's cameo, as well as the scene's reveal that an international version of the Game exists, was that Netflix appeared to be setting up a show spin-off. Harry & Meghan were ‘not in a strong position' & signed Netflix deal for ‘much less'… TV giant ‘did it for publicity'

They had secured a lucrative five-year contract - thought to be worth more than $100 million (£74 million) - with Netflix after quitting as senior working royals in 2020. However, this new deal has been signed for "much less", an insider told Page Six. Adding to this, Royal Biographer Hugo Vickers told The Sun the couple were "not in a strong bargaining position" when agreeing to the new partnership with Netflix. He added that Netflix signed the deal due to the "publicity" the company would get from showcasing the royals on its platform. Hugo said: "I don't think the Sussexes would have been able to pressurise them [Netflix] because they're not in a very strong bargaining position. "Netflix will have figured out they will be getting publicity from the shows." This weakened position could have led to a cheaper deal being signed as well as the introduction of a "first look" clause in the agreement. It means Netflix will only pay for projects they want to screen, rather than pay in a single multi-million pound agreement like the one signed in 2020, The Sun understands. The Sun can also reveal, however, that the streaming giants will cover Archewell Productions's overheads, including all costs for its offices and staff. Meghan and Harry's Netflix deal is extended as 'special' Christmas episode of cooking show & new documentary announced Netflix will also have to fork out to the couple to have the exclusive first look on their projects. Hugo hinted that the deal could also be part of the nature of Harry and Meghan's need to remain in the public eye in their new lives - in order to keep income flowing to their "expensive lifestyles". The royal expert said: "I suspect that they lead a very expensive life. "They have to keep going as once the money runs out, and if their popularity runs out, they could be in trouble." It is not yet known how much the new extended deal will bring in for the couple, or how long it will last. Meghan said in a statement today: "We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand. "My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision." On top of Season 2 of With Love, Meghan - which will drop later this month - the couple will also film a "Holiday Celebration" Christmas special this December. "Join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration," the announcement read. "Together, friends and family deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs – with simple how-tos to follow at home. It's a holiday wonder with warmth, tradition, and a generous dose of joy." The couple will also release a short film called "Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within" which will look at Uganda's Masaka region and the HIV/AIDS crisis there. This has echoes of Harry's mum Diana's work, who pioneered social change on perceptions of HIV/AIDS. 'Meghan & Harry need to come up with a hit soon' By Matt Wilkinson JUST when you thought it was safe to turn the telly on again... Harry and Meghan are back. And their multi-year renewal with Netflix means they are not going away anytime soon. There have been tense negotiations in recent weeks but Netflix is so deeply involved with Meghan's As Ever brand it was always likely that the streaming giants would want them back. Make no mistake, Harry and Meghan would have been desperate for the deal to be renewed. They will likely be opening a bottle or two of As Ever Rose in Montecito. Because they have invested heavily in Archewell Productions and getting on board with Netflix is central not only to their post-Royal endeavours but more importantly crucial to their bank accounts. If they lost their Netflix money then how could they afford their life in the US? While the length of the deal or how much the couple are getting paid is vague we do know that Meghan will appear in a 'holiday special' in December that will likely clash with the Princess of Wales's annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey. And finally, two years after I revealed in The Sun the couple had bought the rights to the book Meet Me At The Lake, production is in active development. Sources close to the couple are coy about whether Harry or Meghan will appear on screen for the production of Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within which will air later this year. But perhaps the best piece of news from the announcement is no repeat of the six-part documentary which dumped on the Royal Family. However, 'Harry & Meghan' was a ratings dream and none of their projects since have been anywhere as successful. They need to come up with a hit soon. And this 'first look' deal means Netflix has the first option on new projects from the couple without any guaranteed commitment. But remember the Sussexes are not the only Royals to be in bed with Netflix. The King will feature in a documentary on The King's Foundation with Idris Elba. In 1987, Princess Diana opened the UK's first purpose built HIV/AIDS unit at Middlesex Hospital in London. She famously shook the hand of a man suffering with the illness without gloves, publicly challenging the idea that HIV/AIDS was passed from person to person by touch. There is also "active development" on other projects with Netflix which "span a variety of content genres", including a feature adaptation of the bestselling romantic novel by Carley Fortune, Meet Me At The Lake. Bela Bajaria, Netflix's Chief Content Officer, said: 'Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere. "The response to their work speaks for itself — Harry & Meghan gave viewers an intimate look into their lives and quickly became one of our most-watched documentary series. "More recently, fans have been inspired by With Love, Meghan, with products from the new As Ever line consistently selling out in record time.
