As the manga world charges deep into 2025, fans all over the world are going crazy over the latest chapters of
One Piece
(Elbaf Arc/Gear 5),
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex
, and
Bleach
: No Breaths From Hell. All three of our heroes have hit new highs or lows in power and emotion.
Here, we are comparing Monkey D. Luffy,
Naruto
Uzumaki, and Ichigo Kurosaki across power feats, character growth, and story impact, and rank who stands tallest in May 2025's storylines.
Power Unleashed
Luffy (One Piece)

With the Final Saga's: Egghead Island arc, Luffy's Gear 5 (Sun-God Nika) form is in full force. Against CP0 agent Rob Lucci, Luffy easily overpowers him, even though Lucci had also awakened his powers of Devil Fruit. Luffy's 'Gomu Gomu no Dawn Rocket' attack knocks out Lucci cold — proof of just how absurd his cartoonish, god-tier powers have become. Vegapunk even refers to Luffy as a living legend. In terms of raw battle dominance, Luffy is on another level.
Naruto (Boruto: Two Blue Vortex) –
Naruto's last great feat was activating his Baryon Mode, a one time use nuclear level power that burned the life force of Naruto to defeat Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. The tradeoff? Kurama, the Nine-Tails, died, and Naruto was severely weakened. In Boruto, Naruto hasn't reappeared in combat — he's currently sealed away by Kawaki. So while his power was once divine, it's currently dormant, with no new feats to show.
Ichigo (Bleach: No Breaths From Hell) –
Ichigo steps back into battle wielding his True Bankai, a fearsome double-bladed zanpakutō. He impales Szayelaporro Granz with overwhelming force. But this Hell arc brings consequences — Ichigo's powers are destabilized by the shift in spiritual balance, and he loses access to some key abilities by the end of the chapter. He's still powerful, but not at his peak anymore.
Verdict:
Luffy's power is not just shown, it's dominant and still rising. Naruto's might is in symmetry, and Ichigo, while striking hard, exits the arc weakened. For now, Luffy leads in raw combat strength.

Luffy's Growth –
From carefree rubber boy to future Pirate King, Luffy's growth is both emotional and strategic. He's still wild and free-spirited, but now a full-fledged Yonko (Emperor of the Sea). In Egghead, he juggles rescuing Vegapunk, protecting his crew, and confronting the World Government — all while staying true to his ideals. His charisma inspires everyone from Yamato to Crocodile.
Naruto's Journey –
Naruto's journey from outcast to Seventh Hokage is legendary. As of Boruto, he's a protector and father figure, revered across nations. His sacrifice of Kurama and his current absence shape the new generation's story. Naruto isn't just a leader — he's a symbol of peace and resilience. His legacy is so strong, even in silence, it drives the plot forward.
Ichigo's Role –
Ichigo has evolved from a moody teenager into a battle-hardened protector. In No Breaths from Hell, he fights not for glory, but for duty and loved ones. Balancing life as a husband and father with the burden of his Shinigami past, he shows maturity and emotional strength. His confrontation with Ukitake's spirit shows deep emotional evolution — a hero not just of muscle, but of soul.
Verdict:
All three have walked paths of loss, growth, and glory. Naruto stands out in terms of legacy and moral leadership, while Luffy is the most active leader on the battlefield, and Ichigo offers quiet, grounded heroism.
Crowning the King
So, who truly rules the shonen realm in 2025?
Luffy
is at the center of the Final Saga of One Piece. He's defeating awakened CP0 agents with god-like ease, leading his crew into the heart of danger, and shaking the world's foundations with Gear 5. He's not just strong — he's dominating the narrative right now.
Naruto
, while once arguably the strongest of them all, is no longer on the battlefield. His past feats still echo, but until he returns, he remains a legend in stasis.
Ichigo
has returned in dramatic fashion, but the No Breaths from Hell arc leaves him temporarily weakened. He may rise again, but today, he's recovering from soul-shattering consequences.

Final Verdict:
Luffy stands as the top shonen hero in 2025 — active, powerful, and leading the charge in real time. Naruto remains the heart and legacy of his world, and Ichigo fights on with quiet courage. But when it comes to who's truly at the top right now, the crown goes to the Sun God himself: Monkey D. Luffy.

'Trigger' ending explained: From addressing dark aspects of society to the dual perspectives

Trigger Warning: This article discusses gun violence, its impact, and related social issues, which some readers may find disturbing. 'Trigger,' the recently released K-Drama, has been the talk of the town, keeping every possible fan awake in the night. The story revolves around illegal guns being massively delivered to civilians, leading to chaos and, certainly, triggering violence. What is 'Trigger' about? Directed by Kwon Oh-seung, the series gave a glimpse of what would happen if the regulations were disregarded and the laws were casually broken. Led by Kim Young-Kwang and Kim Nam-Gil, where one is adamant about destroying the country that failed to protect him, and the other is trying to be on the right side of the road. On the darker side is Moon Baek (Kim Young-Kwang), who has been around the international black market and is willing to unleash the devil in South Korea, knowing that he will be dying of cancer. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Victoria Principal Is Almost 75, See Her Now Reportingly Undo Meanwhile, Lee Do (Kim Nam Gil), who wants to protect the people despite having a quite traumatic childhood, has served in the military and condemns all the weapon culture in society. While he tries to stop everything without using a gun, the time eventually makes him pick one to fight the demons. How does the series end? At the end, Moon Baek organises rallies and sets off the ticking bomb by conducting a 'free guns' incentive, in addition to throwing smoke bombs. Lee, who has been the protector, decides not to arrest Moon and save the children from the chaotic crossfire. Adding the spice of a perfectly dramatic climax, Baek disappears in the smoke after stating that all he did was hand humans the guns; it was entirely their decision to pull the trigger. However, Moon Baek is shot and is hospitalised due to a critical condition, while Lee Do survives and adopts the boy he saved, according to The Indian Express. While there has been no official announcement about the next season, there is certainly room for one.

Parineeta Borthakur joins Vasudha as the fierce and graceful matriarch, Chandrika Singh Chauhan

Vasudha has struck an emotional chord with audiences through its compelling portrayal of layered relationships within the Chauhan household. As Vasudha (Priya Thakur) navigates a storm of manipulations led by Karishma (Pratiksha Rai) and Megha (Mandeep Kaur), one constant figure has anchored the family with quiet authority — Chandrika Singh Chauhan, the matriarch who leads with strength, dignity, and unwavering principles. The character of Chandrika, who has been integral to the narrative since the show's launch, will now be portrayed by seasoned actress Parineeta Borthakur , taking over from Nausheen Ali Sardar. Known for her nuanced performances and emotional depth, Parineeta brings a fresh yet faithful energy to the role, capturing Chandrika's inner strength and complex emotional core with restraint and grace. With Vasudha recently ranking among the top 10 shows on Hindi GEC, stepping into such a pivotal role mid-way comes with its share of responsibility. Parineeta acknowledges the challenge but is embracing it with sincerity, hoping to live up to the audience's expectations while carrying forward the emotional weight of the character with honesty and respect. Speaking about the role, Parineeta Borthakur shared, 'Joining a show like Vasudha, which is already performing well and has recently secured a place among the top 10 list of shows across industry, is exciting. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cinangka: Unsold Sofas Prices May Surprise You (Prices May Surprise You) Sofas | Search Ads Search Now Undo Stepping into a character mid-way comes with its own set of challenges, but I see it as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a story that has already touched so many hearts. I've always been drawn to stories with emotional depth and strong female leads, and the moment I read about Chandrika's character, I felt an immediate connection. She's a layered, dignified woman, someone who leads with quiet strength and conviction. I hope to bring my own interpretation while staying true to the essence that audiences have connected with.' She added, 'Chandrika isn't just the matriarch of the Chauhan family, she's a woman who places discipline above emotion and upholds order with grace. Portraying someone with such emotional complexity and unwavering principles has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of my career. I truly hope the audience embraces my portrayal as Chandrika's journey unfolds in the episodes to come.' Producer Arvind Babbal said, 'It has been a pleasure working with Nausheen Ali Sardar. She brought grace and dignity to the role of Chandrika Singh Chauhan. We are truly thankful and wish her all the very best. As we move ahead, we are delighted to welcome Parineeta Borthakur to the cast. She is a thoughtful and talented actor, and since coming on board, she has shown a deep understanding of Chandrika's layered persona. Her ability to show strength and emotion with elegance makes her an ideal choice for this role. We are confident that her performance will truly resonate with the audience.' With Parineeta stepping into the shoes of Chandrika, viewers can expect a seamless continuation of the matriarch's pivotal role as the drama intensifies. Will Chandrika's presence hold the family together as tensions rise? Can Vasudha withstand the next wave of conflict?
