Source: Crun In a rare and insightful interview, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda addressed some of the biggest unanswered questions in One Piece, sparking excitement across the anime community. From the origin of Luffy's Gear 5 powers to the true strength of Shanks and the mystery behind Blackbeard, Oda gave fans plenty to think about, without spoiling future arcs. These revelations, though subtle, offer important clues about the One Piece Final Saga, the Will of D, and the destiny of the Straw Hat Pirates. Here's a deep dive into everything Eiichiro Oda revealed in his latest One Piece interview. Eiichiro Oda answers the biggest One Piece mysteries fans have waited years for What is Luffy's Gear 5 in One Piece really? Source: Crunchy Oda revealed that Gear 5 Luffy is based on the concept of freedom and joy. Inspired by classic cartoons, this form allows Luffy to fight in unpredictable, reality-bending ways. It's meant to reflect ultimate freedom, not just strength, and was designed to be fun both narratively and visually. Why did Shanks give up his arm in One Piece? Source: Crun According to Oda, Shanks sacrificed his arm not because he was weak, but to make a statement to the new generation. He wanted to inspire Luffy by putting faith in him. The moment symbolised Shanks' belief that Luffy had the potential to change the world. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Treatment That Might Help You Against Knee Pain (Search Here) Kneepain | Search Search Now Undo What's the secret behind Zoro's lineage in One Piece? Source: Crun Oda confirmed Zoro is not related to Ryuma directly, but they share a deep symbolic connection through Wano. The resemblance and swordsmanship aren't coincidence but intentional parallels. This leaves room for more development, but fans shouldn't expect a 'hidden prince' twist for Zoro's backstory. How strong is Shanks' Haki in One Piece? Source: Crunch Oda hinted that Shanks' Haki is among the strongest in the world. He's a master of Conqueror's Haki and uses it to control situations without needing a Devil Fruit. His strength lies in technique and willpower, not flashy powers, making him a true Haki powerhouse. Is Sabo stronger than Ace in One Piece? Source: Crunchyroll Oda stated that while Ace and Sabo were both strong, Sabo is more strategic. With the Mera Mera no Mi and his experience in the Revolutionary Army, Sabo has grown into a formidable fighter, perhaps stronger than Ace ever was, especially in terms of control and maturity. Why did Blackbeard not sleep in One Piece? Source: Crunchyr Blackbeard's 'never sleeps' mystery is tied to his abnormal body. Oda didn't confirm the theory about him having multiple souls or bodies, but teased that his unique structure allows him to wield more than one Devil Fruit. The truth will be revealed during his final confrontation. Is Imu in One Piece human? Source: Youtube Oda declined to fully reveal Imu's identity, but confirmed they are ancient and possess secrets tied to the Void Century. While fans suspect Imu is inhuman or immortal, Oda insists the full truth will be a shocker, but not something completely outside human understanding. Will the Straw Hats have more crew in One Piece? Source: Crunchyroll When asked if more Straw Hats would join, Oda said the current crew is near-complete. However, temporary allies may travel with them. The focus now is on developing the existing crew as the story nears its climax, especially during the Final Saga. What's the deal with the 'D' clan in One Piece? Source: Crunvhyroll Oda remained cryptic about the Will of D, saying it will be fully explained soon. It represents a forgotten ideology that opposes oppression. The 'D' bearers are often fated to challenge the World Government's control, and their destiny ties into the Void Century. Why does Oda delay romances in One Piece? Source: Crunchyroll On romance in One Piece, Oda explained that he prioritises adventure over love stories. Luffy, in particular, isn't written as someone who thinks romantically. However, emotional connections like Sanji and Pudding or Robin and Franky are hinted at subtly, without becoming central to the plot. Eiichiro Oda's answers offer tantalising hints without spoiling the end of One Piece. As the Final Saga unfolds, these insights help fans piece together the mystery while keeping the thrill alive. Top 10 Anime Moments I Find Amazing

Vs Ulti ( Spoilers) I was really happy to see a moment like this in One Piece because I haven't really seen a really big one on one Nami fight in awhile , so to see this fight was phenomenal to me. Watching Nami beat an opponent who is not really physically stronger but does have powers is always satisfying to me simply because just like Usopp she thinks outside the box and is able to come up with a strategy to beat her enemy. new power form ( Spoilers) Robin's new form really took me by surprise ; simply because I was not expecting her form to look like this. I do think the way she looks does make the most sense based on her backstory as a child , and even her wanted poster ; since people used to call her the demon child this form has the most compatibility with her character. sharing one for all with Bakugou This was a cool moment for me as it really shows that in a dangerous situation Bakugou can put his hatred for Deku aside and work together to defeat the villain. surviving the sun Not gonna lie this scene made me shed some tears. To have watched Nezuko just accept her fate and kick Tanjiro off of her basically saying 'let me go' to him just made my eyes well up, especially after watching their journey together up until that point. But then seeing Nezuko not only just standing up in the sun but also saying good morning was insane to me. going Beast mode When Gohan turned beast mode I was ecstatic . This is honestly one of the few reasons I feel like Gohan can absolutely beat Goku and is stronger than him. The first reason I thought this was during the cell games when he became SSJ 2 and defeated cell. 6. Hanji fighting collasal titans An amazing scene as it shows the strength and bravery Hanji has as a soldier and a character. She was incredibly fearless as she fought against all those collasal titans even though she knew she couldn't beat them on her lonesome ; she fought anyway to protect her friends. 7. Erza taking on 100 monsters Fairy Tail is one off my favorite Anime's of all time and has some stunning fights. Erza's fights are some of the best in Fairy tail beside Natsu's. Her style of fighting has always intrigued me an throughout the show it has been proven just how strong she really is , but this moment during the Grand Magic Games really expands on just how powerful she is . This fight was one she volunteered for and she absolutely crushed it , she used her magic to bet all 100 of these monsters and showed just exactly why she is labeled an S-class Wizard. 8. Saitama stopping his punch Watching Saitama fight Genos was amusing to me . The entire time I was watching I thought it was funny since everyone who watches one punch man knows just how unimaginably strong Saitama is. So that scene when he almost punches Genos but stopped himself like a few inches from Genos' face that proceds how much he really holds back. 9. Luffy getting to Gear 5 I was honestly surprised when Luffy gets to Gear 5. I was really excited to see the transformation in the anime as it really does the moment in the manga justice.( 10. Sakura vs Jo togame ( Spoilers) I found this moment in Windbreakers amazing because I was waiting for this fight for a while. This fight has some great choreography in showing the different fighting styles that both characters have.

One Piece creator hints at Luffy's possible death – Could the pirate king fall?

Spoiler Warning: This article contains spoilers from the Final saga of One Piece As One Piece arrives at its final saga, fans here and abroad are looking to answer one unthinkable question—Will Monkey D. Luffy die before it's all over? One Piece holds the records as the most popular anime and manga franchise of all time. It's a fun, swashbuckling adventure story that centers on the quest of Luffy, an impetuous young pirate whose body is made of rubber, to realize his dream and become Pirate King. As the story heads toward its possible conclusion, the chips are stacking up towards a more sinister fate. Recent developments in the manga—as well as some hints from creator Eiichiro Oda—indicate that Luffy's life will begin to end, the brutal consequences of all the battles on his body having finally caught up with him. Luffy's body is breaking down From Enies Lobby to Marineford and Wano, Luffy has gone above and beyond – even above the limits of a human being – over and over again. His aggressive haki-infused combat style, coupled with high risk abilities such as Gear Second, Third, Fourth and now Gear Fifth, has taken a physical toll on his body. Here's how to unpack it LET'S GO. Gear Second overheats his body and rapidly drains his stamina. He paid the price of 5 years of his life for being poisoned by Magellan while in Impel Down. He used life-risking hormone injections from Ivankov to continue fighting in the war. Back in Wano, Kaido actually threatened Luffy with death for trying to push himself back into Gear 5. Oda has shown dozens of these red flags throughout One Piece's extensive story, and eager fans are just starting to make these posthumous connections. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Luffy's lifespan may already be running out When Luffy goes into Gear 5, his body takes on a cartoonish elastic form full of expressive punch. He's literally transforming into the 'Warrior of Liberation.' This shift presents a clear danger. Even Kaido, one of the strongest and most intimidating villains in the series, knew that Luffy was doing everything he could to stay alive, to get up and keep fighting. At one point, Kaido even remarked, You're just going to end up killing yourself if you continue like this! To which Luffy only had this to say: 'Really, what's the worst that could happen?' 'We're all just bones in the ground at the end anyway! Happiness has never been an option. It's pretty obvious that Luffy knows the dangers, but the quest for his mission is greater than life itself. Will Oda really kill off Luffy in the end? Most fans are convinced that Luffy will come out the other side of this story alive—and they have pretty compelling reasons to think that. Here's the deal. Here's why this matters. Chopper, the Straw Hat doctor, has a dream of curing every disease. Saving Luffy from death would allow Chopper's goal to be fulfilled in perhaps the best possible way. Whether or not Oda is planning adjournment to One Piece's end with an enormous celebration – an event that wouldn't feel justified without Luffy there to share in it – he has repeatedly stated his desire to have ONE PIECE come to a close. In interviews over the years, Oda stated that the last panel of the manga is already decided and it's not one of sadness. So even though Luffy's health is obviously no joking matter, we can at least carry the comfort of believing his story can still reach a brighter conclusion. When is the next One Piece chapter releasing? One Piece Chapter 1152 will officially be available for international readers on Sunday, June 22, 2025 through Manga Plus and Viz Media. In Japan, the chapter will be released on Monday, June 23 at 12AM JST. With each chapter in the Final Saga, the stakes continue to grow. Luffy's fate might very well be up in the air and audiences around the globe are waiting with bated breath to see. The concept of Luffy dying at One Piece's conclusion was a thing fans never could've seen coming years ago. Yet as this series reaches its inevitable last chapter, the stakes have never been higher. Will Luffy actually make it to Pirate King, and get to witness the changing world? Or will he meet the same end as the previous Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, who was executed before his vision came to fruition? Whatever the answer, Eiichiro Oda has certainly taken One Piece into emotional territory like never before and fans from the US, UK, and all corners of the globe won't want to miss what comes next. Luffy's strength, courage and heart have been the foundation of One Piece for more than two decades. Yet now, with death lurking around the corner, we are all painfully aware of what this story—and this character—has meant to millions. Stay tuned, because One Piece's conclusion is shaping up to be anime's most heart-wrenching finale ever.

One Piece: Oda confirms Luffy needs a new power-up stronger than Gear 5 and conqueror's haki

The Final Saga kicks into gear, the Straw Hat captain will have to contend with his most formidable opponent yet—Imu, a god-like king even more powerful than Kaido. One Piece's world is on the brink of its largest climax yet. After more than 25 years of piracy, the saga is entering its Final Saga after all this time, and creator Eiichiro Oda is doing all he can to ensure fans know what's really at stake. In another significant spoiler, Oda admitted that even with the immense powers of Luffy's Gear 5 and his advanced Haki, he will require an even more unrealized potential to beat the order's ultimate villain Imu. One Piece is an internationally beloved, record-breaking manga and anime franchise about the adventures of Luffy, a boy whose body has turned into rubber and who dreams of becoming King of the Pirates. To stay competitive with villains that have come before him, Luffy has been given new powerful transformations and fighting styles, becoming more powerful in every story arc. In this Final Saga, even his strongest forms might not be enough. Luffy reached Yonko-level in wano, but that's still not enough During the Wano Country arc, Luffy was able to take full advantage of Gear 5 once his Devil Fruit had awoken. This transformation provided him with almost cartoon-like liberties in combat, enabling him to contort, extend, and otherwise manipulate the field of play to suit his preferences. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Encontre voos low-cost Voos | Anúncios de Pesquisa Saiba Mais Undo On top of this, he developed the ability to coat his strikes in Conqueror's Haki, a special kind of spiritual energy only the most powerful characters can master. 'This is my peak! This is Gear 5!' — Monkey D. Luffy During the Wano arc of One Piece, he uses these powers to defeat Kaido, the world's strongest creature. With that victory, Luffy became a Yonko himself. He is one of the four empire-building pirates calling the shots in the New World. Now, a much larger menace has come: Imu, the true lord of the world. Imu's power is beyond anything we've seen before When it comes to the main villain of One Piece, I do believe that Imu is almost unlike any other villain fans have gotten in this series. Imu's first major appearance came during the Wano arc earlier this year, in which he's revealed to control the World Government from the shadows and has lived for centuries, perhaps even since the Void Century. In Chapter 1149, fans were treated to a first-hand account of Imu releasing unimaginable powers, all the while manipulating a creature called Gunko. Not only is Imu physically powerful, they possess Conqueror's Haki, can (as we've discussed here) grant others immortality, and might even share powers with the Five Elders—who have all become powerful yokai thanks to dark abilities. 'Allow Mu to show thee the dominance of a God!' — Imu Additionally, it's implied that Imu's powers go beyond the physical and influence the soul, rendering them virtually immune to defeat by outside force. Even Joy Boy, a mythical hero credited with being even stronger than current Luffy, might not have been able to defeat Imu in the past. Gear 5 and haki aren't enough to win the final war If Luffy's ever going to achieve victory, he'll require a lot more than just Gear 5 and Conqueror's Haki. Based on these theories and recent developments as well as Oda's foreshadowing, it seems like Luffy will need to learn or discover new techniques that can affect the soul in order to harm or defeat Imu. This might mean: Mastering Gear 5 deeper, unlocking potential With Mastering Gear 5 deeper, tapping into various new abilities. Better still would be perfecting all three varieties of Haki, namely Observation, Armament, and Conqueror's. Discovering these soul-based attacks might be the key in defeating the immortals Receiving counsel from influential mentors, such as the enigmatic Scopper Gaban who should finally return to help train Luffy Where to read and watch One Piece The new One Piece chapter is serving all that hype as well right now in the Final Saga. Chapter 1151 will come out officially on … June 7, 2025 (Saturday) – for most of the rest of the world Free to read on Manga Plus and Viz Media Fans are looking forward to learning more about Imu, taking a deeper dive into Luffy's training, and even getting a glimpse at the start of his next transformation. Read the Manga Free and legal on Manga Plus and Watch the English Dub Available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Funimation Luffy's journey thus far has seen him overcome every limit, yet with One Piece's recently-announced Final Saga promises to be his greatest test to date. One Piece : Oda confirms these pirates will surpass Gol D. Roger

It's the single most popular anime and manga series in the world, created by Eiichiro Oda. It follows the adventures of a young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy, who aspires to be the Pirate King—the most free person on the seven seas. In the universe of One Piece, the title of Pirate King was originally claimed by Gol D. Roger, the strongest and best-known pirate of the Golden Age. He found the ultimate treasure, the One Piece, and his legacy echoed throughout the entire world. As of writing, One Piece is currently in its final saga. As Oda himself has noted, a bunch of them are already coming up to not only match Roger's power—but exceed it. Who was Gol D. Roger? The strongest pirate of his time Gol D. Roger was not just any pirate—he was the king of the pirates. He mastered the Grand Line, discovered the great treasure, and brought the world into a new era. His only true competition would be Whitebeard, the self-proclaimed strongest man of the world. 'Wealth, fame, power, Gold Roger, the Pirate King, achieved this and all else the world had to offer. — Narrator' Though Whitebeard possessed the same world-shaking power, it was Roger — the Pirate King — who obtained everything: wealth, fame, and the freedom of his own life. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Gentle Japanese hair growth method for men and women's scalp Hair's Rich Learn More Undo As One Piece creator Oda noted, Roger was the strongest pirate of his era and arguably the most influential man in history. The world is moving on. Whether you agree with him or not, a new generation is rising, and many of them are already near his level. Luffy will surpass Roger in the final saga At the same time, the story's main hero, Monkey D. Luffy, is well on his way towards eventually surpassing Roger. In the ongoing Elbaf arc, Luffy is establishing a pattern where he grows in power with every fight. He has Gear 5, a new, mighty transformation that connects him to Joy Boy, an ancient, mysterious figure connected to the series' biggest secrets. To take down threats to the world like Imu, the shadowy overlord of the world, Luffy's going to have to be more than Roger's strength. He's got to be more than that. It's not if— it's when . 'Luffy isn't just chasing Roger's dream—he's going to uncover the truth and rewrite history.' Shanks could match or even surpass Roger Red-Haired Shanks, former member of Roger's crew, is now one of the Four Emperors (Yonko) of the sea. His Haki—a mysterious type of spiritual energy that enhances combat abilities—sacred powers to be precise—was legendary. Just weeks ago, on the final day of the current session, Shanks played a serious wild card with this statement: 'Hey beck, it's time, don't you think? To claim the One Piece, that is! — Shanks To Ben Beckmann' With his quiet strength and strong bonds, fans are convinced Shanks will be pulled out to deliver Roger-level prowess during the One Piece final arc. Others of his fans might even argue that he is going to be one of the most important characters in determining which faction wins the Great Pirate War. Blackbeard could become the most dangerous pirate ever Blackbeard, zee pirate Marshall D. Teach, is America's most wanted man! He's already stolen two of the most powerful Devil Fruits, an act previously believed to be impossible. Now, Blackbeard is on the prowl for greater power. If he succeeds in adding a third Devil Fruit to his arsenal and masters Haki, he might just become a dark take on the Pirate King to end all Pirate Kings, exceeding Roger, Whitebeard and possibly even Luffy. Imu may already be stronger than Roger One of the biggest mysteries in One Piece is Imu, the shadowy figure who rules the world from the shadows. Whereas Roger amassed power and influence through grand adventure and triumph, it is a far more safe assumption to assume that Imu has held power for many centuries through intimidation and oppression. While their true power has not yet been shown, Oda has suggested that even the Pirate King himself might be Imu's inferior in strength. As things are building to a climactic world war for the ages, readers are just waiting for Imu to bring that deal—perhaps in Elbaf. Other characters who could surpass roger Outside of the heavy hitters listed above, there are several other compelling up and comers who could surpass the all time greats listed above. Trafalgar Law Smart, strategic, and already took down a Yonko. Eustass Kid: Possesses the world's strongest magnetic DF and even bigger dreams than Luffy. Koby: A Marine whose meteoric ascent through the rank suggests he'll be the next Garp. Zoro & Sanji: Luffy's right and left hands, both pushing toward Yonko-level power. When does the next chapter of One Piece come out? One Piece fulfills its legacy by continuing past the 1150th chapter, set to drop on June 1, 2025. For our international readers, you can read it for free on Manga Plus or on the Shonen Jump app. The chapter will be released on Sunday, May 31 (US/UK time), or Monday, June 1 in Japan (JST). As the Elbaf arc progresses, look forward to more mind-blowing secrets, jaw-dropping fights, and very likely, our first clear look at Imu's terrifying power. One Piece's new era is just beginning The Pirate King used to own the waves, but the world of One Piece is moving at breakneck speed these days. With the Final Saga underway, Luffy, Shanks, Blackbeard, and more are poised to change the world and surpass Roger's tale.
