The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to honour seven cricketing greats by inducting them into its esteemed Hall of Fame on Monday, June 9, 2025. The induction ceremony, part of the 'A Day with the Legends' celebration, will take place just two days ahead of the much-anticipated World Test Championship Final between Australia and South Africa.
About the ICC Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame serves to recognise players who have made a lasting impact on the game of cricket. With 115 members already honoured, this year's addition will see five male and two female cricketers join their ranks. The previous induction was held before the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Final in Dubai.
Event details
The 2025 Hall of Fame ceremony will begin at 9:00 PM IST on June 9. ICC Chairman Jay Shah highlighted the significance of the honour, stating, 'Inducting these legends is our tribute to those who have profoundly influenced the game. The selection is based solely on merit and their outstanding achievements.'

Aaron Rodgers' contract: a major bargain for Steelers, unlocking roster flexibility

The Pittsburgh Steelers' acquisition of veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers has emerged as one of the most financially savvy moves of the 2025 NFL offseason. Despite Rodgers' Hall of Fame pedigree, the Steelers will pay him a base salary of just $10 million for the upcoming season—an amount that could rise by at least $3.65 million and potentially reach up to $9.5 million more through various incentives. Even at the highest possible payout, Rodgers' compensation will remain below that of fellow Steelers quarterback Justin Fields , who is set to earn $20 million this year. The deal, reportedly finalized 'a long time ago,' was the result of negotiations led by Rodgers' agent, David Dunn. Sources indicate that Rodgers was initially willing to accept an even lower salary, but Dunn encouraged him to secure a more competitive figure. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Chuck Norris Begs Seniors: Avoid These 3 Foods Like The Plague Roundhouse Provisions Learn More Undo The precise details of Rodgers' incentive structure remain undisclosed, but speculation suggests that a Super Bowl victory could unlock the maximum compensation package. For the Steelers, this contract represents a significant bargain. Live Events Rodgers' relatively modest cap hit frees up millions in both cash and salary cap space, giving the franchise unprecedented flexibility. This financial breathing room could be used to extend star linebacker T.J. Watt, pursue a high-profile running back like J.K. Dobbins , or even facilitate a trade for a receiver such as Allen Lazard. The team also has the option to make strategic moves ahead of the Week 9 trade deadline. Ultimately, the Steelers have managed to secure an elite quarterback at a fraction of the typical cost, positioning themselves to reinvest those savings into strengthening the roster. If the front office leverages this advantage wisely, Pittsburgh could be poised to exceed expectations in the 2025 season.

Which Team Will Win WTC 2025 If South Africa Vs Australia Final Ends In A Draw?

Last Updated: The 2025 WTC final between South Africa and Australia will be played at Lord's from June 11 to 15. South Africa will face Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 final. The high-voltage match between the two top teams of the WTC 2023-25 cycle is set to take place at Lord's in London from June 11 to 15. The Proteas are coming into the final after topping the WTC 2023-25 points table and winning seven matches in a row, whereas defending champions Australia have won five of their last six Test matches. The Baggy Greens would like to get the better of Temba Bavuma & Co. in the one-off match to become WTC winners for the second time in history. However, it's not going to be an easy task, as the Proteas are also coming fully prepared for the big match. The WTC 2025 final between South Africa and Australia promises to be a nail-biting contest at the Home of Cricket, and it will be too early to predict which team is going to win the title. In Test cricket, three results are always possible, and so the question arises: which team will win WTC 2025 if the final ends in a draw? Well, according to tournament rules, if the WTC 2025 final ends in a draw or tie or gets abandoned, then Australia and South Africa will have to share the WTC trophy. However, to reduce the possibility of a draw, the match has a reserve day in place. But reserve day will only come into play if time has been lost to bad weather across the five days and they are unable to make up for it in those five days and no result has been reached by the end of the fifth day. WTC 2025 winners' prize money According to ICC, the winner of the WTC 2025 final will take home US $3.6 million, which is more than double what Australia received as WTC winners in 2023. The 2025 runners-up will take home $2.1 million this time, compared to $800,000 in the last two editions.
