But Antony and Betis endured a painful last dance, losing 4-1 to Chelsea in the Uefa Conference League final in Poland.
He is set to return to Man Utd, who would not accept a cut-price deal or another loan move.
The 26-year-old was grateful for his time at Betis as he penned an emotional open letter on Instagram.
Antony said in Spanish: "Today is the day to give thanks for one of the most beautiful chapters of my life.
"As I write this page of my story, I need to tell you why you have been —and always will be —so special to me.
"Since I was a child, football wasn't just a dream, it was my only chance to change my life.
"Life took me far, from the favela to the world. I left Brazil, played in the Netherlands, played in England, and went from being a boy to becoming a father.
"A lot has changed, but football has always been there, always my safe harbour. Until one day, everything collapsed.

"From heaven to hell. The ball stopped going in, the joy faded, my world darkened, and I began to doubt myself, my talent, and my passion for the game.
"That's when football gave me one last gift: Real Betis. From the first step into this club, I felt something different.

"It was like coming home, like finding a piece of myself that I thought I had lost. With you, I started to smile again.
"Thank you for welcoming me as one of your own. Thank you for giving me back the joy of playing football.
"And thank you for reminding me why I fell in love with the game. My home, my people, thank you so much."
Antony captioned the heartwarming post with: "My world. My people."
The video started with Antony walking around an Villamarin Stadium, soaking his final days with the club who desperately wanted to keep him.
He was wearing his Betis jersey, with his young kids popping up in the green and white kits too.
It then showed his best match highlights, including his incredible goal against former Man Utd team-mate David de Gea at Fiorentina.
Dramatic Hans Zimmer-like piano music played in the background throughout.
Antony endured a torrid first half of the season in the Premier League, compounding what had been a frustrating two seasons at Old Trafford following his £86million from Ajax in 2022.
While he might not be accepted back into the fold at Old Trafford, Antony attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen, now managed by former United boss Erik ten Hag.

Man City star 'left out of Club World Cup squad' as Man Utd eye transfer
Manchester City have named their Club World Cup squad with youngster James McAtee overlooked in a move that could lead to his exit with Manchester United among those keen Manchester City have opted against including James McAtee in their squad for the Club World Cup as their neighbours Manchester United continue to circle. The snub could prove telling as the academy graduate weighs up his future. City will jet halfway across the world to play in the tournament but won't go with McAtee, who instead has been added to England's pre-tournament training squad ahead of the U21s Euros in Slovakia. McAtee has enjoyed moments in a City shirt, but is still very much establishing himself. He scored an FA Cup hat-trick several months ago and has also contributed in the Premier League, but won't get the chance to rub shoulders with the squad's senior stars at the FIFA tournament. As a result potential suitors are beginning to circle and one of those is the Red Devils. Selling direct to the Old Trafford outfit would prove a hugely controversial move, especially as McAtee is tipped to have a bright future. The Daily Mail reports that Guardiola's decision to overlook him could spell the end of his time on the blue side of Manchester. The Catalan has been honest about the state of affairs and whilst he wants to keep the 22-year-old, he would understand his desire to play regularly. He said in April: 'For the age, I'd like him to stay. But I understand players want more minutes. He can play different positions but I don't know how the squad will be and we will see.' Another factor at play is that McAtee's contract expires in 2026 - leaving the City hierarchy to either hand him a new deal or cash in before he becomes a free agent. The academy graduate has excelled on loan in the Championship previously, but would command a higher move were he to head away from the Etihad. McAtee himself is keen on a move to the Bundesliga, where he's been linked with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen. He's seen first-hand how young English players have thrived in the Germany environment with Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham among them. Letting McAtee leave would represent a risk for Guardiola, who has copped criticism for allowing City's academy products to leave before giving them a proper shot. Several of them have gone on to excel elsewhere, Morgan Rogers among them.

'Hand of Neymar' earns Brazilian red card in potential Santos send off
June 2 (Reuters) - Neymar has spoken about the impact Diego Maradona had on his career after meeting him as a child but his bid to emulate the late Argentine great's "Hand of God" goal backfired on Sunday when he was sent off in what could be his last game for Santos. With Santos and Botafogo locked at 0-0 heading into the last 15 minutes of their Brazilian league game, Neymar launched himself at a rebound in the penalty area and steered the ball into the net with his hand. The Brazilian was quickly surrounded by furious Botafogo players before the referee flashed a second yellow card at the forward, cutting short his first start for the club since he made his return from injury last month. Rubbing salt into the wound, Botafogo scored with four minutes left to secure a 1-0 victory. The 33-year-old former Barcelona and Paris St Germain attacker later apologised to his team and fans. "I made a mistake, forgive me!" he posted on social media. "Today, if I hadn't been sent off, I'm sure we would have gotten the three points. You can count these three points against me!" Neymar had returned to his boyhood club Santos in January after a stint at Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal, with his contract at the Brazilian side running until June 30. The red card rules him out of Santos's match against Fortaleza on Thursday, meaning he will only be able to play for the club again if he extends his contract before the league's resumption in July following the Club World Cup. Santos are 18th in the league having lost seven of their 11 matches.
