Bills star Josh Allen opens up on Hailee Steinfeld wedding and life after new $330m contract
The Buffalo Bills quarterback has had an incredible few months both on and off the field. Back in February, he was named the NFL's MVP and rewarded with a new $330million contract.
That deal included an NFL-record $250million in guaranteed money. Then in May, Allen married actress and singer Steinfeld in a sunset ceremony in Santa Barbara.
It marks a remarkable rise for a player who grew up on a farm in a city of 8,000 people outside Fresno, California.
When asked what a 12-year-old Josh Allen would think about all he has achieved, the quarterback told NFL Network: 'Pretty cool'
'I got to marry the woman of my dreams, my best friend, and I get to play football for a living. That's my favorite thing to do,' he said.
'Then in the offseason I get to hang out with my family and golf a little bit. So it's not too bad.'
Allen and Steinfeld have busy careers in football and showbusiness, respectively, and the quarterback lifted the lid on how they make time for each other.
'I just feel like every other married couple - you sit down and pull out a calendar and go at it then,' he told the Bills YouTube channel.
Crews from HBO's Hard Knocks are currently in training camp with the Bills ahead of the new season. It has added another layer of complexity to preseason and Allen admitted it is not easy to maintain normalcy when surrounded by cameras.
'It's a little tough - (but) there are no hidden cameras, there are no tricks they're trying to pull on us,' he said.
'You know exactly when you're being recorded and where the cameras are, who's mic'd up... so we just have to continue to try to be ourselves and not let it affect us in a negative way because that's not going to help us. So we have to continue being us.'

Kansas City Chiefs star Rashee Rice insists he's 'completely changed' since his hit-and-run crash on a Dallas highway that was captured in a viral video last year. Rice was estimated to be speeding at 119mph before the collision, which resulted in several injuries for other motorists and passengers back in 2024. The wide receiver has since been sentenced to five years' probation and 30 days of jail time - which can be served at any time over the next five years. As he awaits a verdict from the league on his punishment, Rice has been at the Chiefs training camp and, on Saturday, took time to speak to reporters about the 2024 crash. He explained: 'I´ve completely changed. You have to learn from things like that. I've learned and taken advantage of being able to learn from something like that.' In a related lawsuit, Rice has agreed to pay $1million to a plaintiff who sued him over the 2024 crash, according to court documents obtained by Daily Mail. Rice is also being forced to pay $75,000 in pre-judgement interest and $12,000 in plaintiff attorney fees. The Chiefs are bracing for Rice to serve an NFL suspension. League spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement recently that the case 'remains under review.' 'My legal team is handling all that,' Rice said. 'All I can focus on is what I can control right now and that's me doing what I do.' Despite his looming punishment, Rice is looking to make a comeback following a ligament injury suffered in Week 4 - after colliding with Patrick Mahomes - which ended his entire 2024 season. The wide receiver underwent surgery to resolve the issue and has since been back in action during summer workouts. He continued: 'I feel 100%. I'm excited to be back out here with the guys. Just kind of basically where I left off at. 'The only thing is get back on the field and continue to have fun doing what I do.' Rice was renting the Lamborghini sport utility vehicle authorities said was one of two speeding sports cars that caused a chain-reaction crash on a Dallas highway in May of 2024. The occupants of the Lamborghini and the other speeding vehicle — a Corvette — left without checking on the drivers and passengers in the other four cars involved in the collision. A spokesman for the rental company, The Classic Lifestyle, said the Lamborghini rents for about $1,750 a day and is worth about $250,000. Police said the Corvette and Lamborghini were speeding in the far-left lane of North Central Expressway when they lost control. The Lamborghini went onto the shoulder and hit the center median wall, causing a chain-reaction collision. Four people in the other vehicles were treated for minor injuries. The wide receiver was spotted at Chiefs training camp this week alongside Travis Kelce After his client was seen fleeing the scene of the accident, West said at the time that Rice would 'take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.' Rice, a member of the Super Bowl LVIII-winning Chiefs team, is from the Dallas area. He played for Southern Methodist University and grew up in the Fort Worth suburb of North Richland Hills. Kings re-sign F Alex Laferriere to 3-year, $12.3M extension
August 3 - The Los Angeles Kings signed forward Alex Laferriere to a three-year, $12.3 million contract extension through the 2027-28 season, the team announced on Saturday. The new deal has an average annual value of $4.1 million. Laferriere, 23, played his second NHL season in 2024-25 and set career highs in a number of statistical categories, including 19 goals, 23 assists and 42 points. He also posted career-bests with a plus-22 rating, four game-winning goals, 193 shots, 43 blocks, 124 hits and 16:32 average ice time in 77 regular-season games. QUITO, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Brazil successfully defended their Women's Copa America crown by defeating Colombia 5-4 in a shootout on Saturday to claim their ninth continental title after a roller-coaster final in Quito ended 4-4. The decider at the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado saw Colombia take the lead three times, only for Brazil to respond on each occasion. Brazil great Marta forced extra time with a late equaliser and the veteran struck again in the 105th minute to seemingly seal victory. But a resilient Colombia found yet another equaliser to send the encounter to penalties, where Brazil's experience ultimately prevailed. "I think women's soccer has been growing a lot. I think the trend is for it to be more competitive. Everyone here deserved a match like this. Congratulations to Colombia too," Brazil's Amanda Gutierres said. "This means a lot. I think it's Brazil's job. It's that mentality of never giving up. That's a source of pride for Brazil. I think it means a lot to Brazilians." Both teams created early chances but the breakthrough came in the 25th minute when Colombia's Linda Caicedo capped off a tidy passing move with a composed low finish from close range. Brazil got the equaliser in the dying moments of the first half when Angelina stepped up to calmly convert a penalty after VAR confirmed a foul by Jorelyn Carabali on Gio Garbelini.
