Guwahati: Modelled on the
Sabarmati Riverfront
in Ahmedabad, the Brahmaputra riverfront development project, which is expected to bring a major change to life in the city, is nearing completion.
A portion of the 1.2-km-long project along the south bank of the Brahmaputra was inaugurated by the Union home minister last year, and the remaining portion is likely to be opened to the public very soon.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma recently took to X and wrote, "Something very special is coming up in Guwahati which will change the way people experience living in the city." He also shared a video of the riverfront project.
Led by Guwahati Smart City Limited (GSCL), the project covers a 1.2 km stretch from the DC Bungalow to Kacharighat. It is part of a larger six-kilometre vision, extending from Raj Bhawan to the Kamakhya temple.
Union home minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Panbazar segment on Jan 20, 2024, which includes the Mahabahu Brahmaputra Heritage Centre and Padum Pukhuri pond.
Developed at an estimated cost of Rs 69.85 crore, the project blends urban development with ecological restoration. Features like water lily revival, gabion terraces for groundwater recharge, native vegetation, and riparian landscaping aim to promote a sustainable design.

The southern riverbank is undergoing extensive beautification with a 15-metre-wide boulevard, dedicated jogging and cycling tracks, landscaped gardens, children's play areas, and themed zones, including fragrance, zen, and edible gardens.
The project aims to integrate promenades, cultural hubs, and ferry services, potentially redefining Guwahati's relationship with its iconic river. Seven ceremonial "state gates" enhance the cultural identity of the space.
Infrastructure such as food kiosks, restrooms, CCTV surveillance, PA systems, and parking facilities add to the visitor experience.
It is pertinent to mention that the project faced opposition over environmental concerns in 2023. The felling of around 40 mature trees in Uzanbazar drew criticism from locals and environmentalists. Officials have since assured compensatory afforestation and the adoption of eco-sensitive construction methods.

Gold bonds maturing in July delivering over 200% returns: Check details
The Reserve Bank of India recently declared that the redemption price for Sovereign Gold Bonds 2017-18 Series-XIV and 2018-19 Series-IV, due for premature redemption on July 1 is Rs 9,628 per unit. This price is calculated as the simple average of closing prices of 999-purity gold over the past three business days, June 26, 27, and 30, as published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). Massive returns for long-term investors These two bond series were issued at much lower prices: -SGB 2017-18 Series XIV: Issued on January 1, 2018, at Rs 2,831 per gram, this gives investors an impressive absolute return of around 240 per cent, excluding interest. -SGB 2018-19 Series IV: Issued on January 1, 2019, at Rs 3,119 per gram, the return here is roughly 209 per cent, or a gain of Rs 6,509 per gram (Rs 9,628 - Rs 3,119). This is in addition to the fixed annual 2.5 per cent interest on the initial investment, which is paid semi-annually and not linked to gold prices. What is premature redemption and how does it work? SGBs have an 8-year maturity period, but investors are allowed to exit early after the fifth year, specifically on interest payout dates. In the current case, July 1, marks such a redemption window. What investors need to do? Check which tranche their SGB belongs to. Submit a premature redemption request before the notified deadline. Ensure bank account and contact details are up to date with the bank, SHCIL (Stock Holding Corporation of India), or the post office. Upon maturity or premature redemption, proceeds are automatically credited to the investor's bank account. No capital gains tax is applicable on redemption, making SGBs more tax-friendly than physical gold.

HDB Financial Services Shares Rise After Decent Debut: Should You Buy, Hold Or Sell?
Last Updated: HDB Financial Services' share price extended gains after making a steady debut in the Indian stock market on Tuesday HDB Financial Services' share price extended gains after making a steady debut in the Indian stock market on Tuesday, July 2, 2025. Following its recently concluded initial public offering (IPO), HDB Financial Services shares were listed on both the BSE and NSE at Rs 835, marking a 12.84% premium over the issue price of Rs 740. Post-listing, the stock witnessed further buying momentum, rising to an intraday high of Rs 845.75 on the BSE, gaining over 1% from the listing level. The Rs 12,500-crore IPO was open for subscription from June 25 to June 27. The listing today aligned with Street expectations, supported by the positive trend in the grey market premium (GMP). Analyst Views: What Should Investors Do Now? Prashanth Tapse, Research Analyst at Mehta Equities, said the listing reflected strong investor appetite and was in line with expectations. 'Given the healthy listing and prevailing bullish sentiment, we recommend holding HDB Financial Services shares for the long term. The company is well-positioned to capitalise on India's structural credit growth, especially in the retail and SME segments," Tapse noted. For investors who didn't receive an allotment, Tapse advised accumulating on post-listing corrections, especially during short-term volatility driven by broader market trends. 'HDB Financial Services offers a value-driven investment opportunity with both defensive and growth characteristics — ideal for investors with a 3–5 year horizon," he added. Tarun Singh, Founder and MD of Highbrow Securities, said the nearly 13% listing premium reflected a balanced market view. 'The market has weighed the stability of HDFC lineage against the headwinds facing a maturing NBFC sector. The premium suggests HDB is seen more as a steady compounder than a high-growth play," Singh said. He further added that HDB's performance in translating its pedigree into consistent returns would determine its long-term standing in the market. Brokerage Emkay Global Financial Services initiated coverage with a 'Buy' rating and a June 2026 target price of Rs 900 per share, implying a 22% upside. Emkay expects 20% AUM CAGR and 27% EPS CAGR over FY25–28, backed by a strong origination network, post-IPO capital strengthening, and a supportive interest rate environment. Emkay projects HDB Financial Services to achieve a return on assets (RoA) of 2.7% and a return on equity (RoE) of 17% by FY28. 'With the RBI likely to implement frontloaded repo rate cuts, NIMs could expand, boosting profitability. We estimate HDB can deliver ~20% AUM and ~27% EPS CAGR over FY25–28," said Avinash Singh, Senior Research Analyst at Emkay Global. This company shares in focus as as it considers conversion of foreign currency convertible bonds
शेयर बाजार में हाहाकार, अरबों डॉलर हुए स्वाहा Kellton Tech Solutions, an information technology consulting company, has announced that its security issuance committee, part of the board of directors, will meet on July 4, 2025, to consider and approve the conversion of Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds (FCCBs) into equity shares. In May, the company approved the allotment of FCCBs valued at USD 10 million to eligible investors, totaling USD 10,000,000. As per the information shared with exchanges, the bonds carry a coupon rate of 6.5 per cent per annum with a tenure of 10 years, maturing in 2035. The initial conversion price was set at Rs 106 per equity share, it added. What Are Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds? Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds or FCCBs are debt instruments issued by a company. They are generally issued in a foreign currency and can be converted into equity shares of the company at the holder's discretion. This not only offers companies an opportunity to raise capital internationally but also provides investors with the potential for significant equity upside, a promising aspect of Kellton Tech's financial strategy. How FCCBs Work? When a company issues FCCBs, it receives funds in a foreign currency and pays a regular interest (also known as coupon rates) to the bondholders until maturity of conversion. For investors, they act as a regular income during the tenure they hold the bonds. Also, they can benefit from potential gains if the stock of the company rises above the conversion price. 1:5 Stock Split Earlier, the board of directors of the company approved a 1:5 stock split, a move that can be seen as a positive step towards enhancing the liquidity and affordability of the company's shares. This means that each equity share, previously having a face value of Rs 5, will now be split into five equity shares, each having a face value of Re 1. Share Price History The stock's 52-week high is Rs 184.30, and its 52-week low is Rs 95.05. The company's market cap, a key indicator of its financial standing, is currently at Rs 1,338.38, providing a comprehensive view of Kellton Tech's market value. According to BSE Analytics, the counter has given a multibagger return of 121 per cent in two years. While it has given a positive return of 30.85 per cent in one year, the counter has corrected 13.44 per cent so far this year.
