Government is spending ₹33,600 crore to give pensions to 68 lakh people in a year, says Endowments Minister
Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Saturday said that the State government is spending ₹33,600 crore to give NTR Bharosa social pensions to 68 lakh people per year. The Minister distributed pension along with the officials and local public representatives at Veerlagudipadu village of Sangam mandal in SPSR Nellore district.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Reddy said, 'Despite the State's dire financial situation, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is giving priority to the welfare of the poor. With his administrative skills and immense experience, he is putting the State on the right track. New pensions are being granted to 74,600 people, including widows, from across the State from June 12.'
The Minister also inaugurated a cement road in Veerlagudipadu village, which is in a dilapidated state due to Penna and Boggeru rivers. He said that efforts are being made to improve connectivity of this remote village, while adding that, 'the officials have prepared proposals worth ₹25 crore to build a road-cum-bridge over Boggeru to connect this village to the national highway.'
He said, 'Currently, the people of Veerlagudipadu travel around 25 km via Atmakur to reach Sangam but with the construction of this road-cum-bridge, the villagers will only have to travel about 10 km to reach Sangam. The government is taking steps to convert all the roads in the village into cement roads.'
Meanwhile, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Ponguru Narayana distributed pensions to the beneficiaries living on the banks of Zafar Saheb canal in Division 3 of Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) limits. He reiterated that the Chief Minister has kept his promise by providing a pension of ₹4,000 as promised in the election manifesto.
Mr. Narayana said that the Coalition government is implementing 100% of the promises made in the election manifesto. He said that ₹19.98 crore worth pensions are being distributed to 45,758 people in 54 divisions of the NMC, and ₹9.06 crore worth are being given to 20,828 people, including widows, elderly and people with disabilities, in Nellore City Constituency every month.
The MA&UD Minister said that Nellore city is being developed in all ways. He said that 6,000 people are studying in municipal schools in the city and steps have been taken to provide quality education. He said that the number of students will be increased to 10,000 in those schools and that 54 schools will be converted into corporate schools.
He said that the government is moving forward with a plan for the establishment of industries. Talking about other government initiatives, the Minister said that 'Talli ki Vandanam' scheme will be launched on June 12, while farmers will get ₹20,000 under Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, and the government will provide free bus travel facility to women from August 15.

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy Sunday asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance has earned the trust and faith of the entire world, highlighting an eleven-year tenure free of corruption. Speaking in the meeting of the office bearers of the party at the BJP headquarters on Sunday, Reddy vehemently criticised the Congress and BRS as corrupt and family-centric parties, urging BJP cadres to disseminate details of Modi's transformative rule to every household. Reddy also highlighted a significant improvement in national security, claiming that while terrorist attacks, including those in Hyderabad, were commonplace during the Congress era, not a single major attack has occurred in the last 11 years. He specifically mentioned the destruction of the Pakistan-ISI network under Modi's leadership and recalled the loss of 42,000 lives – civilians and soldiers – in terror attacks during Congress' tenure. Reddy provided examples of the Modi government's decisive action against terrorism, citing the 'strong message' sent to militants following attacks and successful operations like the surgical strikes in Pathankot and air strikes, alongside a third operation dubbed 'Sindoor'. He also proudly spoke of the simultaneous modernisation of 1,300 railway stations across the country, including 40 in Telangana, a feat he attributed to the BJP and NDA. He also noted the end of power shortages that plagued industries under previous governments. Turning to social and economic reforms, Reddy highlighted the end of fertiliser shortages, with subsidies maintained without price increases. He credited Modi with the development of significant religious sites like the Kashi Vishwanath and Ujjain Mahakal temples. He lambasted the Congress' legacy on issues like Article 370, linking it to the nation's vulnerability to terrorism. The Minister also proudly listed initiatives such as providing 5 kg of rice to the poor, gas cylinders, housing, and water, as well as the Ayushman Bharat scheme extending healthcare to those over 70. Reddy called on the people of Telangana to protect the state from these 'family and corrupt parties,' asserting that the BJP was the only party genuinely committed to the state's development. He expressed confidence that the party could secure power in the upcoming assembly elections, urging them to abandon passive attitudes and work diligently. He dismissed the ongoing political and family dramas in Telangana, urging citizens not to be drawn into them, and instead to expose the corruption and irregularities of the BRS and Congress. He concluded by reiterating the call for unity under 'one flag and one agenda' inspired by the Prime Minister, and urged active participation in upcoming events like Environment Day on June 5 and Yoga Day on June 21, along with good governance programmes from June 8 to 18.

NDA leaders see ‘conspiracy' to unseat alliance government in Andhra Pradesh
Several leaders of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government and members of the TTD Trust Board have questioned the series of unsavoury incidents in the recent past, and suspect them to be the handiwork of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in a bid to unseat the alliance government. The apparent trigger was the incident on Friday night, when a devotee in the Sarvadarshan queue line in Tirumala raised slogans against the TTD for 'neglecting the interests of the pilgrims' and causing them hardship during their Tirumala visit. He said the TTD officials had failed to provide them food and kept them waiting outside the queue lines for several hours. The video of the incident was shot and made viral on social media platforms, causing embarrassment to the TTD as well as the State government. However, when the TTD reached out to the devotee and tried to offer him solace, rather surprisingly, he retracted from the allegation and gave an 'all is well' statement. Growing suspicious about the intent, the TTD management issued a stern warning to the public not to make baseless allegations against the institution, as it would affect the sentiments of Hindu devotees across the world. Board member and BJP State spokesperson G. Bhanuprakash Reddy submitted a letter to the Director-General of Police, complaining about the 'conspiracies' of the YSRCP leaders to unseat the NDA Government. He charged the leaders of unleashing a false propaganda, supported by deliberate misleading comments on its allied media, to create confusion among the public. Mr. Reddy pointed to the instances of alleged cow deaths at the TTD-run dairy farm, SV Gosamrakshanasala, and the stray incident involving a Muslim cab driver performing 'namaz' in Tirumala, which were deliberately used to show the TTD administration and the NDA government in poor light. He sought a thorough probe and harsh punishment of the guilty for playing with the sentiments of devotees. Lokesh responds In his post on X, Minister for HRD N. Lokesh responded on the 'negative campaign' by the opposition party. He said the person raising slogans against the TTD was identified as YSRCP activist Baddili Atcha Rao of Kakinada rural, and expressed regret over the miscreants in the opposition party choosing Tirumala for their 'malicious campaign' against the government.

Telangana BJP to launch booth-level outreach from June 8 to highlight Modi govt's achievements
Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 1 (ANI): Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy held a meeting at the party's state office in Hyderabad on Sunday to review ongoing and upcoming party programmes. He said the BJP would organise a series of outreach events from June 8 to June 18 to highlight the Central government's achievements. Reddy emphasised that over the past 11 years, the BJP-led government at the Centre has delivered in multiple areas, from basic sanitation to space exploration. 'Under the leadership of PM Modi, NDA-BJP won the Lok Sabha elections three times in a row with the blessings of the people. In these 11 years, many works have been done towards making a corruption-free India a global power through good governance. PM Modi's government has worked in different areas. Many works have been done from building toilets in a poor household in a village to hoisting the country's flag on the moon,' Reddy said. He said the upcoming booth-level events will serve as a medium to connect directly with the people. 'From 8th June to 18th June, we will organise programs at every polling booth among the people and will go door-to-door to tell the people about the work done by the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards building a new India,' he said. Earlier, in a post on X, Reddy highlighted how he mentioned the various developmental initiatives and how the government has ensured that Centrally Sponsored Schemes and projects 'reach the deserving population.' 'I emphasized on the need to take various development initiatives of Narendra Modi govt., made throughout the last decade in various sectors like Agriculture, Industries, MSMEs, Railways, Roadways, and Technology among others to every household. Under the leadership of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, we have ensured that all the Centrally Sponsored Schemes and projects reach the deserving population, while contributing to grassroots-level development and empowerment of all,' he wrote.
