Chintalapudi project will be completed within the next five years, says the Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations
Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy stated that the coalition government is working with the sole objective of public welfare. On Saturday, during his visit to Agiripalli, the Minister met several families and enquired about problems being faced by them. He directed the officials concerned over the phone to resolve several problems that were brought to his attention during the visit. The Minister emphasised that right from the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu down to grassroots leaders, everyone is working earnestly to solve the problems of the poor. The pension distribution programme is also being carried out alongside, reflecting the government's commitment in staying connected with the people and understanding their difficulties. The Annadata Sukhibhava and Talliki Vandanam welfare schemes would be launched soon. Despite financial constraints, the government is moving forward with both welfare and development programmes, he said. Alleging that the previous government slowed down the State's progress across various sectors, he said that Mr. Naidu is making determined efforts to stabilise the State's economy while simultaneously attracting large-scale industrial investments. Measures are also being taken to provide employment opportunities to the youth. The people have given the coalition government a historic victory, and they will work tirelessly to meet the people's expectations with a strong sense of responsibility, he said. Mr. Parthasarathy assured that the Chintalapudi project would be completed within the next five years, addressing drinking and irrigation water needs of the constituency. Furthermore, he declared that every poor person without a home will be provided a permanent house within the next five years by the coalition government. The Minister made it clear that any poor individual with a problem can approach him directly and get their issue resolved and there is no place for brokers or middlemen. A special review meeting in coordination with the Sub-Collector would be convened to address land issues in the mandal, noting that many people have been filing complaints regarding land matters. A dedicated platform involving the Joint Collector and Sub-Collector will be set up to resolve these issues. Drainage and road problems in Agiripalli mandal would be resolved soon, he added.

Andhra Pradesh spends Rs 2,700 crore monthly on pensions: Minister Kollu Ravindra
VIJAYAWADA: Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra on Saturday said the State government is spending Rs 2,700 crore every month, amounting to Rs 33,000 crore annually—towards pensions for various categories including the elderly, widows, disabled persons, and single women. The Minister, accompanied by APSRTC Chairman Konakalla Narayana Rao, personally distributed NTR Bharosa pensions to beneficiaries in Machilipatnam. He announced that 95,000 pensions that were previously discontinued during the YSRCP regime will be reinstated and distributed on June 12. Ravindra said the government is currently providing pensions to over 64 lakh beneficiaries across the state each month. He also highlighted the upcoming launch of the Talliki Vandanam scheme in June, under which each school-going child will receive Rs 15,000 in financial assistance. Further, the Minister said a free bus travel scheme for women is set to begin in August, with guidelines currently being finalised. The Minister, along with Krishna District Collector DK Balaji, SP R Gangadhara Rao and others, took part in a Mega Yoga Event at Manginapudi Beach. Approximately 1,000 people participated in the session.

Thalliki Vandanam, Annadata Sukhibhava, free travel in RTC for women soon: Minister
Kondapi: Social Welfare Minister Dr Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy declared that the coalition government is implementing all promises made to the people during elections. He announced that the Talliki Vandanam, Annadata Sukhibhva, and the free travel in RTC buses for women schemes would be started very soon, while distributing pensions to beneficiaries in a door-to-door campaign. The Minister visited Chilamkuru village in Kondapi constituency's Marripudi mandal on Saturday as part of the 'Pedala Sevalo' government programme, personally distributing pensions to elderly citizens, disabled persons, and widows at their homes. Speaking during the event, Minister Swamy said that the NDA coalition is moving forward with capable leadership while fulfilling election commitments. He highlighted several welfare initiatives being implemented as part of election promises, including increased pensions and four free LPG cylinders. He explained that the free bus travel for women and the Annadaata Sukhibhava program, offering Rs 20000 combined with central government contributions, are to be implemented very soon. Under the Talliki Vandanam scheme, Swamy explained that benefits will be extended to all children in a family based on the number of children. He said that the government plans to sanction houses for all eligible beneficiaries, with SC and BC beneficiaries receiving Rs 3.00 lakh, ST beneficiaries Rs 3.25lakh, and OC beneficiaries Rs 2.50 lakh for house construction. The Minister said that the state government is spending Rs 2,718 crores on pensions statewide. In Prakasam district, Rs 124 crores are being spent, while Kondapi constituency accounts for Rs 18.19 crores, as Marripudi mandal receives Rs 2.38 crores, and Chilankuru village alone receives Rs 10.06 lakh in pension payments. The Minister reaffirmed the state government's commitment to public welfare and development, stating that welfare programs are being implemented at full scale across the state. RDO Keshavardhan Reddy, District Social Welfare Officer Lakshmanaayak, SC Corporation ED ArjunNaik, MPDO Jagadeeshwar Rao, Tahsildar Jwala Narasimha Rao, other officials, and local public representatives attended the programme.

Government is spending ₹33,600 crore to give pensions to 68 lakh people in a year, says Endowments Minister
Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Saturday said that the State government is spending ₹33,600 crore to give NTR Bharosa social pensions to 68 lakh people per year. The Minister distributed pension along with the officials and local public representatives at Veerlagudipadu village of Sangam mandal in SPSR Nellore district. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Reddy said, 'Despite the State's dire financial situation, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is giving priority to the welfare of the poor. With his administrative skills and immense experience, he is putting the State on the right track. New pensions are being granted to 74,600 people, including widows, from across the State from June 12.' The Minister also inaugurated a cement road in Veerlagudipadu village, which is in a dilapidated state due to Penna and Boggeru rivers. He said that efforts are being made to improve connectivity of this remote village, while adding that, 'the officials have prepared proposals worth ₹25 crore to build a road-cum-bridge over Boggeru to connect this village to the national highway.' He said, 'Currently, the people of Veerlagudipadu travel around 25 km via Atmakur to reach Sangam but with the construction of this road-cum-bridge, the villagers will only have to travel about 10 km to reach Sangam. The government is taking steps to convert all the roads in the village into cement roads.' Meanwhile, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Ponguru Narayana distributed pensions to the beneficiaries living on the banks of Zafar Saheb canal in Division 3 of Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) limits. He reiterated that the Chief Minister has kept his promise by providing a pension of ₹4,000 as promised in the election manifesto. Mr. Narayana said that the Coalition government is implementing 100% of the promises made in the election manifesto. He said that ₹19.98 crore worth pensions are being distributed to 45,758 people in 54 divisions of the NMC, and ₹9.06 crore worth are being given to 20,828 people, including widows, elderly and people with disabilities, in Nellore City Constituency every month. The MA&UD Minister said that Nellore city is being developed in all ways. He said that 6,000 people are studying in municipal schools in the city and steps have been taken to provide quality education. He said that the number of students will be increased to 10,000 in those schools and that 54 schools will be converted into corporate schools. He said that the government is moving forward with a plan for the establishment of industries. Talking about other government initiatives, the Minister said that 'Talli ki Vandanam' scheme will be launched on June 12, while farmers will get ₹20,000 under Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, and the government will provide free bus travel facility to women from August 15.

Officials told to expedite Yeleru canal repairs
Kakinada: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development and the district in-charge minister Dr Ponguru Narayana has directed officials to promptly repair all breaches in the Yeleru canal system caused by last year's floods. The minister said that these repairs must be completed before the onset of the monsoon to ensure uninterrupted water supply for Kharif. The directive was issued during a Kakinada district review committee meeting held on Thursday evening at the Collectorate, chaired by Minister Narayana. District Collector Shan Mohan Sagili, MLC Karri Padmasree, and MLAs Nimmakayala Chinarajappa and Pantam Nanaji reviewed various development issues with officials. Collector Shan Mohan reported that 75% of the works suggested in the previous review meeting have been completed. He also announced that 52,000 units would be set up for SC/ST beneficiaries in the district under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli scheme. The Collector explained the promotion of drone usage in the agricultural sector. Kakinada Municipal Commissioner Bhavana elaborated on the measures taken to prevent drinking water scarcity during summer. Peddapuram MLA Chinarajappa urged immediate repairs to the Yeleru system and expedited completion of the Samarlakota bypass road and ADB road expansion projects. Kakinada Rural MLA Pantam Nanaji requested measures to prevent crop damage caused by wastewater from aquaculture ponds. Former MLA SVSN Varma, representing the Pithapuram constituency, called for support to farmers who are incurring losses due to millers colluding and offering low prices for their produce. MLC Karri Padmasree raised concerns about the hostel problem faced by polytechnic students and sought its resolution. People's representatives collectively demanded swift action on alleged irregularities in Jayalakshmi Mac Society, Kirlampudi, and Yeleswaram Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies to aid affected investors and farmers. Minister Narayana, as the committee chairman, instructed officials to take immediate action on all issues discussed by the members. He directed irrigation officials to repair all breaches in the Yeleru irrigation system before the Kharif season begins. He also asked Transco officials to install solar units on Tidco houses under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. The minister ordered a robust summer action plan, including borewell repairs and water transportation, to ensure no habitation faces drinking water scarcity. He directed officials to take necessary measures to ensure farmers receive Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their produce and stated that the government would be requested to provide more tarpaulins to farmers at subsidised rates. Minister Narayana asserted that despite financial difficulties, the coalition government is fulfilling its promises. He announced that schemes such as 'Talliki Vandanam', free bus travel for women, and Rs 20,000 investment aid for farmers would be implemented in June. The minister reiterated that the government is committed to delivering on all its promises while bearing the burden of accumulated debt from the previous administration.
