Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy stated that the coalition government is working with the sole objective of public welfare.
On Saturday, during his visit to Agiripalli, the Minister met several families and enquired about problems being faced by them. He directed the officials concerned over the phone to resolve several problems that were brought to his attention during the visit.
The Minister emphasised that right from the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu down to grassroots leaders, everyone is working earnestly to solve the problems of the poor. The pension distribution programme is also being carried out alongside, reflecting the government's commitment in staying connected with the people and understanding their difficulties. The Annadata Sukhibhava and Talliki Vandanam welfare schemes would be launched soon. Despite financial constraints, the government is moving forward with both welfare and development programmes, he said.
Alleging that the previous government slowed down the State's progress across various sectors, he said that Mr. Naidu is making determined efforts to stabilise the State's economy while simultaneously attracting large-scale industrial investments. Measures are also being taken to provide employment opportunities to the youth. The people have given the coalition government a historic victory, and they will work tirelessly to meet the people's expectations with a strong sense of responsibility, he said.
Mr. Parthasarathy assured that the Chintalapudi project would be completed within the next five years, addressing drinking and irrigation water needs of the constituency. Furthermore, he declared that every poor person without a home will be provided a permanent house within the next five years by the coalition government.
The Minister made it clear that any poor individual with a problem can approach him directly and get their issue resolved and there is no place for brokers or middlemen. A special review meeting in coordination with the Sub-Collector would be convened to address land issues in the mandal, noting that many people have been filing complaints regarding land matters. A dedicated platform involving the Joint Collector and Sub-Collector will be set up to resolve these issues. Drainage and road problems in Agiripalli mandal would be resolved soon, he added.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials of the Water Resources Department (WRD) to undertake the Polavaram–Banakacherla and other irrigation projects under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and finalise the tenders by the end of this month while securing forest and environmental clearances in a time-bound manner. Addressing a review meeting at the Secretariat near here on Friday, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said the officials should take steps for land acquisition for the Polavaram–Banakacherla project and that it would be undertaken by the Jal Harathi Corporation. Proposals for funding were sent to the Central government. Out of the total project cost of ₹81,900 crore, a sum of ₹40,950 crore would be sought as an EAP (External Aided Project) loan, and ₹16,380 crore as grants from the Central government. The State would mobilise ₹16,380 crore under HAM and contribute ₹8,190 crore as equity. POLAVARAM The Chief Minister wanted the diaphragm wall of the Polavaram project to be completed by the end of December 2025 and noted that the overall civil works were completed to the extent of 81.70%, of which a measly progress of 3.84% was achieved under the YSR Congress Party rule. He said the Chenab Rail Bridge was the world's highest rail arch bridge, while the Anji Bridge was India's first cable-stayed rail bridge. The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) would enhance spiritual tourism, generate livelihood opportunities, and ensure all-weather connectivity with Vande Bharat trains running from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar, he said. In his post on X, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan said it was a proud day for the people of the Kashmir Valley. For the first time in independent India, the Kashmir Valley was now connected to the rest of the country through the world's highest railway bridge, Chenab Bridge. The Andhra Pradesh Government, the NITI Aayog, and the ISEG Foundation entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the State Energy Transition Roadmap on Friday. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. On the occasion, Mr. Naidu said that the undivided Andhra Pradesh had pioneered the power sector reforms in the country in 1998. In the year 2014, the residuary State had prioritised renewable energy, enabling lowest-cost power generation. With advances in technology, Andhra Pradesh made remarkable strides, he observed. 'The government is now implementing new policies that allows people to become both producers and consumers of power. If individuals generate electricity, distribution losses can be eliminated. EV adoption will drastically reduce transportation costs. We are focusing on solar, wind, pumped hydro, battery storage, and green hydrogen. Andhra Pradesh has abundant resources to support this vision. I seek NITI Aayog's support to realise it,' the Chief Minister said. As part of the MoU, the government intends to increase the share of renewables in power capacity addition. The current installed power generation capacity in the State is 27.3 GW. The electricity demand increased to 69.7 BU in 2025 from 55.6 BU in 2019. Industrial demand has grown by 4.8% and household demand by 5.1%. The power demand is projected to rise to 163.9 BU by 2035 from 88.6 BU next year. Under the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy, the govenment targets 78.50 GW solar, 35 GW wind, 22 GW pumped storage, 1.50 MMTPA green hydrogen, 25 GW battery storage, 1,500 KLPD ethanol, 5,000 EV charging stations, and 10,000 TPD bio-CNG/CBG by 2029. The State has already attracted ₹5.78 lakh crore investments in clean energy, enabling 57.7 GW of power generation. Energy Minister Gottipati Ravikumar, NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary Vijayanand, and representatives of the ISEG Foundation were present.
