On Friday, at least three deputies were killed and another one was injured in an explosion at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Biscailuz Training Center, according to law enforcement sources.
The explosion took place around 7:30 am at the center on Eastern Avenue, which is home to the sheriff's special enforcement bureau, including the bomb squad.
The injured individual was taken to a hospital after the explosion, authorities said.
Preliminary information claimed that deputies were moving a recently recovered from a bomb call out when the blast occurred, according to two law enforcement sources.
After the explosion, LAPD's bomb squad responded to the scene. The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also responded to assist with the investigation.
Employees told The Times they heard a massive blast shortly before 7:30 am coming from the parking lot where the sheriff's bomb squad keeps its vehicles.
They heard glass shattering and screaming.
In the radio communications reviewed by The Times, a sheriff dispatcher tells units that there was an "explosion with three down."
She later advises that a sheriff's weapons team leader said investigators should "not approach" the scene at the time.

UPDATED: El-Sisi urges Trump to end Gaza tragedy - War on Gaza

President El-Sisi made these remarks in a televised address on Monday. During his speech, the president highlighted Egypt's honourable, sincere, and relentless efforts in supporting the Palestinian people. 'Egyptians, I'm reminding you of this — we do not change: We are committed to finding solutions that de-escalate tensions, bring an end to the war, and lead to a final settlement of the Palestinian cause,' El-Sisi said. Gaza needs around 600-700 humanitarian aid trucks daily, he added. Over the past 21 months, Egypt has been committed to facilitating the maximum possible amount of aid into the strip, he noted. The president also affirmed that the available amount of aid and that which has entered the strip is huge, stressing that nothing obstructs it from the Egyptian side. 'Neither our ethics, values, nor our national and moral responsibility would allow us to hinder it. However, the entry of aid requires coordination with the other party present at the Rafah crossing on the Palestinian side," the president stressed. He stated that having the Rafah crossing designated for the passage of individuals, its operation is not solely dependent on the Egyptian side. "The entry of aid and any movement through the Rafah or Karm Abu Salem crossings requires coordination from both sides," he affirmed. The president added that over five crossings connect the Gaza Strip with both Egyptian and Palestinian territories. "Egypt is linked to Gaza through the Rafah Crossing and the Karm Abu Salem Crossing in one way or another." Moreover, El-Sisi renewed his call for the international community to exert every possible effort to stop Israel's genocidal war in Gaza, affirming that Egypt is working unwaveringly to alleviate the civilians' suffering exacerbated by the famine. He also emphasized Egypt's firm stance supporting the two-state solution and rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people or liquidate their cause. Since 7 October 2023, Egypt has actively mediated efforts, along with Qatar and the United States, to reach a ceasefire, facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to war-ravaged Gaza, and secure the release of captives. The president further highlighted that Egypt's consistent position is rooted in its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He also urged the EU countries, the United States, and Arab nations to do everything possible to stop the massacres in Gaza, stressing that the humanitarian tragedy there cannot endure any delay. "Egypt will remain a faithful and trustworthy partner pursuing a just and comprehensive peace. It will continue to support the Palestinian cause, regardless of the challenges," the president concluded.

EU Accuses Temu of Selling Illegal Products

Israa Farhan The European Commission has issued preliminary findings accusing Chinese e-commerce platform Temu of breaching the European Union's Digital Services Act (DSA) by failing to prevent the sale of illegal and non-compliant products within the Single Market. Temu , which boasts nearly 94 million average monthly users across the EU, is designated as a Very Large Online Platform (VLOP) under the DSA. This classification subjects it to enhanced regulatory obligations, including stringent consumer protection measures. According to a statement released on Monday, the Commission determined that Temu presents a high risk to European consumers, with evidence indicating widespread availability of illegal goods on the platform. The investigation, formally launched in October, also raised concerns over the platform's business practices, including misleading discounts, fake reviews, lack of transparency regarding third-party sellers, and a design strategy that may exploit addictive user behaviors. The Commission further emphasized that Temu is failing to comply with the EU's product safety standards, thereby undermining consumer trust and the integrity of the digital Single Market. Temu has been granted the opportunity to respond to the allegations. However, should the Commission uphold its findings, the company could face penalties of up to 6% of its global annual revenue. A spokesperson for Temu stated that the company is cooperating fully with EU authorities. No final ruling has yet been made. The Digital Services Act, which came into force to enhance accountability and consumer protection across major online platforms, represents a cornerstone of the EU's digital governance strategy. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"

4 Killed in Bangkok Food Market Shooting

Israa Farhan A deadly shooting at a popular food market in Bangkok left four security guards dead and one person injured on Monday, according to Thai police. The incident occurred at the Or Tor Kor market near the busy Chatuchak area, which is frequently crowded, especially on weekends. Police say the gunman opened fire before taking his own life. Deputy Chief of Bang Sue Police, Worapat Sookthai, confirmed the fatalities and stated that the motive is still under investigation. Authorities are working to identify the shooter and determine whether there is any link between the attack and ongoing border tensions between Thailand and Cambodia. Thailand has seen some gun-related incidents in recent years, largely due to relatively easy access to firearms across the country. While mass shootings are not a daily occurrence, they are not uncommon in Thailand's urban centers. Police have cordoned off the area and launched a full investigation into the background and potential motivations of the suspect. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"
