It has legal and medical implications, so one can not rush through it, he said.
Vishwashkumar Ramesh, the sole survivor among the 242 passengers and crew who were on board the London-bound Air India flight, was stable and out of danger, Dr Patel added.

Alok Pandey, Gujarat Revenue Secretary, said at the press conference that the victims hailed from 18 out of 33 districts of Gujarat, besides other states of the country.
The families of 11 foreign nationals who died in the crash have been contacted, he said.
'Grief counsellors' will be provided to the families of the victims to help them deal with the mental trauma, Pandey said.
The bodies of eight victims, who were identified by their relatives and did not need DNA profiling, have already been handed over to their families by the hospital, officials said earlier.
The death toll in the plane crash rose to 270 on Saturday. The Centre set up a high-level multi-disciplinary panel headed by the Union home secretary to examine the causes that led to the disaster.
All but one of the 242 passengers and crew on board AI171 and another 29 persons including five MBBS students on the ground were killed when the aircraft came down moments after taking off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport before falling inside the nearby campus of the state-run BJ Medical College in Meghaninagar area and going up in flames.

Boeing's tryst with troubles
Whistleblowers' pitch Boeing stands apart in corporate history for a series of whistleblower allegations on safety compromises. Among them is engineer Sam Salehpour, who alleged critical structural flaws in the Dreamliner's fuselage. His testimony painted a picture of a broken safety culture where truth-tellers face systematic retaliation - ignored, marginalised, and even threatened into silence. Salehpour alleged that improper assembly and rushed manufacturing practices could pose a catastrophic risk over time, especially as these jets age. In a complaint filed with the FAA in January 2024, Salehpour claimed that Boeing took production shortcuts that could pose long-term safety risks as the aircraft age. He estimated that the issues affect more than 400 Boeing 777s and over 1,000 Dreamliners. One of his important claims is that tiny gaps between fuselage sections are improperly filled and this could eventually lead to fatigue cracks. 'These planes are being flown with a ticking time bomb,' Salehpour warned. The Air India crash also brings a renewed focus on John Barnett, a former quality manager and Boeing whistleblower who flagged safety lapses in the Dreamliner programme before his mysterious death last year. Joshua Dean, a Boeing whistleblower who warned of manufacturing defects in the planemaker's 737 Max, died after a short illness, the second Boeing whistleblower to die this year. A long timer at Boeing, Barnett raised red flags about what he described was a steady decline in safety protocols. According to him, employees were being pressured to overlook defects and meet production quotas. Barnett also claimed that about one in four oxygen masks might not work in an emergency. Richard Cuevas, a subcontractor mechanic who worked on Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, alleged last year that he was retaliated against after raising concerns about work he observed on the plane. He alleged 'substandard manufacturing and maintenance practices' on the 787's forward pressure bulkhead—a dome shaped piece located in the jet's nose that's critical to maintaining cabin pressure. Then there is Ed Pierson - the ex-high-level Boeing manager-turned-whistleblower, who testified before the US Congress in 2019 that he had flagged safety issues with the company's 737 Max variant. These cases highlight persistent concerns over Boeing's safety culture, with whistleblowers paying a heavy price for speaking out. As investigations continue, the aviation industry faces urgent questions about accountability and passenger safety.

Cockpit voice recorder recovered from Air India plane crash site
Ahmedabad: The Cockpit voice recorder (CVR) of Air India flight AI 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that crashed in Ahmedabad on June 12, was recovered from the debris, a govt release informed on Sunday. The CVR, commonly referred to as one of the two 'black boxes' of the aircraft, according to US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), is a critical piece of investigative equipment that stores audio recordings from the cockpit, including pilot conversations, alarms and background sounds in the final hours or minutes leading up to a crash. The other black box, the flight data recorder (FDR), which logs technical flight parameters, was earlier recovered. "The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) launched a detailed investigation, and the NTSB is conducting a parallel probe under international protocols since the aircraft is American made. Officials confirmed that the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder were located and secured," the govt release said. In the past, black box data has helped resolve major aviation disasters — such as the 2015 Germanwings crash, where the CVR revealed deliberate pilot action, and the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 incident, which confirmed a missile strike. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dermatologist: Throw This Bedroom Item Away (Here's Why) Blissy Learn More Undo In India, the 2020 Kozhikode air crash investigation also relied on black box recordings to reconstruct pilot decisions and evaluate runway conditions. What is a black box? The black box comprises two devices, the cockpit voice recorder and the flight data recorder. For AI 171, both CVR and FDR have been found. Large commercial aircraft and some smaller commercial, corporate and private aircraft are required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to be equipped with two 'black boxes' that record information about a flight. Both recorders are installed to help reconstruct the events leading to an aircraft accident, according to NTSB website. Role of a CVR The CVR captures pilots' voices and cockpit sounds — like alarms, engine noise and switch clicks — to help reconstruct flight events. Positioned between the two pilots, it also records communications with air traffic control and crew. A multi-agency CVR committee analyses the audio, using timestamps and spectrum software to create a detailed transcript, which is released publicly only under strict legal conditions. Due to the sensitive nature of cockpit conversations, the actual audio is never released, and both the recordings and transcripts are handled with high security and confidentiality.
