As per news agency ANI, he added that this could actually create more export opportunities for India due to its competitive manufacturing base.
Goyal also noted the growing discontent against CBAM among European business leaders.
'When I go to different countries in Europe and I criticise CBAM, all the industry players, CEOs of very large companies, come up to me and thank me. They say you speak like you are our minister,' he said.
Emphasising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's principle of converting challenges into opportunities, Goyal assured that India is fully capable of responding if export interests are harmed. 'We are a sovereign and very powerful nation today, so if anybody hurts our export interest, we will react and retaliate or rebalance,' he said.
Goyal also confirmed that the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), signed on Thursday during
's visit to London, has made strong progress across sensitive areas like gender, environment and intellectual property. 'We have protected all the sensitive sectors of India vis-à-vis the UK... Dairy, rice and sugar, we have not opened for the United Kingdom,' he said.
He added that the FTA ensures 99% preferential or zero-duty access for Indian exports to the UK, making it a 'phenomenal' deal that offers both stability and new investment opportunities.

'It will not only support export of goods and services, but will also bring a stable, predictable and secure framework in which India can become a trusted partner for the UK's supply chains,' he said.
The agreement is part of India's broader goal to double bilateral trade with the UK to $120 billion by 2030.
As per news agency PTI, India has also secured an understanding through diplomatic communication (note verbale) to safeguard its interests in case the UK implements a carbon tax in the future.
If such a tax affects India's trade benefits under the FTA, the country will retain the right to take countermeasures, including withdrawing concessions.

Yaduveer inspects Unity Mall project at Doddakere
Mysuru: Mysore MP on Monday visited Dasara Exhibition Grounds at Doddakere, opposite the Mysuru Palace, to inspect the centrally-sponsored Unity Mall project, which is being developed on 6.5 acres. During his visit, Wadiyar observed the initial stages of construction. Yaduveer said that the mall's construction, sanctioned by the Union govt at a cost of Rs 192.99 crore and implemented by KSIDC, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. The project includes a Wrestling Pavilion, Sky Walk, 3D theatre, and other facilities aimed at promoting the wrestling activities for which Mysuru is renowned. The Centre has also sanctioned the construction of similar malls in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu to boost trade, commerce, hospitality, and tourism. The mall, also known as Unity Mall and inspired by Delhi Haat, will be built in Indo-Saracenic style. Under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, the Union govt has provided interest-free loans to establish Unity Malls in Karnataka with the primary aim of showcasing local handicrafts from all 31 districts, 28 states, and 8 union territories under one roof. The mall will also feature dedicated spaces for sandalwood products, silk products of the state, rosewood inlay works, geographical indication (GI) tagged products like Mysuru jasmine, Mysuru betelnut, Najangud rasabale, Mysuru Pak, and other Make In India products, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Mysuru region. The architectural design of the mall will embody India's unity and grandeur, incorporating elements like grand facades, atriums, and landscaping. Chidambaram questions Pahalgam terrorists' identity, BJP hits back
As Parliament debates Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, former Union Minister P Chidambaram's recent remarks on the terrorists involved in the killings have kicked up a row. In an interview to The Quint, uploaded on Saturday (July 26), Chidambaram said the Pahalgam attackers 'for all we know could be homegrown terrorists' and 'why do you assume that they came from Pakistan'? He also said that 'there is no evidence' that the terrorists came from Pakistan. To a question on 'what they (government) are trying to hide', Chidambaram said: 'They are hiding the fact. I think. And this is speculation. The CDS hinted at that – that we made tactical mistakes, we restrategised. So, what tactical mistakes were made? What was the re-strategising? Those questions either they (government) are incompetent to answer or they are unwilling to answer… They are unwilling to disclose what the NIA has done all these weeks.' 'Have they identified the terrorists, where they came from? For all we know they could be homegrown terrorists. Why do you assume that they came from Pakistan? There is no evidence of that. They are also hiding the losses,' the Congress leader said in the interview. He said he wrote in a column that in a war, losses occur on both sides. Whatever losses Britain suffered, they made it plain… They (government) are reluctant to admit the losses… I think they think they can put a large shroud on Operation Sindoor.' Quoting his interview, Malviya said: 'Once again, the Congress rushes to give a clean chit to Pakistan — this time after the Pahalgam terror attack.' 'Why is it that every time our forces confront Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, Congress leaders sound more like Islamabad's defence lawyers than India's Opposition,' asked Malviya. 'When it comes to national security, there should be no ambiguity. But with the Congress, there never is — they always bend over backwards to protect the enemy,' Malviya said on X. Asked about BJP's reaction, Chidambaram said: 'I saw a troll and I have responded to the troll.' In a post on X on Monday, the Congress leader said: 'Trolls are of different kinds and use different tools to spread misinformation. The worst kind is a troll who suppresses the full recorded interview, takes two sentences, mutes some words, and paints the speaker in a black colour!'
