He amassed his £43 million fortune through running a Cheshire farm where ITV's Car Boot Challenge was filmed.
Adam Scott, 62, the eldest of Richard's 19 sons is now suing his step-mother after he claims he was promised the farm.
He says he spent 40 years working on the farm, starting at the age of nine, with the inheritance promised as a reward.
After marrying Jennifer, who is 28 years his junior, in 2016, Richard proceeded to write Adam out of the will.

Instead he left his new wife in charge of his "huge quantity of land" which is officially valued at £7 million, although Jennifer believes it to be worth around £43 million based on offers.
The pair began dating in 1994.
In a High Court legal battle, Adam is suing his stepmother over her inheritance of his father's land.
He argues that his father was not in his right mind when he amended and signed his final two wills.
Adam had previously tried to prevent Richard's wedding to Jennifer, claiming his dementia had incapacitated him.
It led to Richard being interviewed by four registrars and a lawyer from the local council, who confirmed he did have the capacity to marry.
Richard's other children all "had expectations of inheritance" according to The Telegraph.
He fathered six children with his first wife, six illegitimate children during that relationship, and a further seven children with Jennifer.
Once Adam paid the probate value of the land, he believed his other siblings would be "provided for either by rental income or a lump sum paid", as per the original inheritance plan.
Through the court proceedings, Adam hopes to restore his father's 1995 will which granted him "a 40-year tenancy of his father's farm and an option to purchase the farm at its pprobate value".
When Richard amended the will in 2016, Jennifer's two sons, Gordon and William Redgrave-Scott, and Adam's sister Rebecca Horley also became beneficiaries.
The dementia that Richard was diagnosed with in 2011 had reportedly left him almost "incapable of speaking" by 2016.
Jennifer's lawyers claim that Richard had cut his son out of the will after he tried to have him sectioned by social services in September 2013.
A further complaint by Adam in July 2025 that Richard was abusing Jennifer and his children led to an investigation that was later closed.
Alex Troup KC, representing Jennifer, said: 'Richard was angry with Adam for reporting him to social services and their relationship deteriorated as a result.'
The lawyer also claimed that Adam had already been awarded land and property worth more than £10 million while his father was still alive.
The trial is ongoing.

Coronation Street favourite sacked on the spot after weird behaviour

Debbie Webster decided to kiss Ryan Connor during Monday night's episode of Coronation Street, but things did not end well when he tried to offer her support. Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) was diagnosed with dementia on Coronation Street some months ago, but on Monday night's episode of the ITV soap, her struggles started to take their toll on other residents of Weatherfield. ‌ The Street favourite manages the Chariot Square Hotel and was at the front desk alongside colleague Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) on what appeared to be a normal morning until things took a surprising turn. When an angry guest started an argument with Debbie over her lack of sleep, the hotel manager fired back at her with a torrent of sarcastic comments that the customer caught on camera. However, Ryan convinced her to delete the footage and when he tells Debbie that he managed to appease her letting her know that his boss is "under a lot of stress" at the moment, a delighted Debbie grabbed him and kissed him. Ryan was visibly shocked and left the front desk for a period of time, but when he returned and attempted to confront Debbie over the incident, she seemingly had no recollection. ‌ When Debbie's partner Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) came to the hotel looking for her, he found Ryan, who explained that she was out but revealed his concerns to him after he researched vascular dementia following her surprise move. He wondered if she had "misread the signals", and confessed that she kissed him earlier that morning but Debbie herself interrupted the awkward moment as she came back to work. Oblivious to what has gone on, Ronnie tells Debbie that Ryan has told him about the kiss but she looked confused for a second and then decided to brush it off as a "friendly smacker". ‌ Things only got worse in for all involved in the situation when Ryan decided to try to diffuse things by suggesting they forget about everything, but an angry Debbie took offence at the fact that others had been discussing her condition and stormed out. Later on, Debbie worried that no one would be able to look at her without seeing her condition and when Ryan tried to apologise to her whilst mentioning her condition again, she decided to sack him on the spot and ordered him to clear out his locker. In the Rovers, she explained to Ronnie that she refuses to see her condition as a "death sentence", but the kiss seemed to have been the least of Debbie's worries as earlier that morning she had caught brother Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) with a split lip and bruises. She soon realised he was in need of financial help and offered to step in. But she mistakenly believed that he only needed a small sum, although in the garage it soon became apparent that the mechanic was in far more debt than originally thought. ‌ Following a threatening phone call overheard by Abi ( Sally Carman), she coaxes the problem out of him and he claims that he is £50,000 in debt to those whom he loaned the money from to keep his business going. A desperate Abi pleaded with Carl to raise the money and admitted that she "couldn't bear" to lose him as their secret affair continued to heat up. But when Carl revealed the full extent of his need to Debbie, she was exasperated he refused to reveal to her what he actually wanted it for. She left the pub, and, moments later, Abi appeared and he reassured her that he was "in the clear" about everything. But that was not the case, as he received a text message demanding the money. For actress Sue, she previously spoke of how "frightened" she was in taking on the dementia storyline and explained to The Mirror: 'I was a little bit frightened. It was a lot of information to process, because it's not like a drama series where you might be doing it for six weeks. This is playing someone with dementia for one, two, three years. So, it was a case of 'can I do it? Am I ready?' ‌ "I don't do things by halves. I'm either all in or all out. I like to research and get the best I can out of a script, so it can consume my life for as long as the story lasts.' Recalling the meeting with cobbles boss Kate Brooks, Sue, 57, added: 'Our first chat was really thorough. She said: 'I love Debbie and I want you to tell this story. It's going to be a heartbreaking journey of emotion and honesty. Sad, hopeful, uplifting and truthful. Will you do it?' 'I went home and didn't sleep a wink that night. I talked it through with my husband. He said 'what would be the reason for not doing it?' I realised it was fear."

I'm a mum & I was torn to pieces over the gift I gave my kid's teacher – people called me cheap but it's not about money

Read on to see what gifts will go down a hit KIDDING ME I'm a mum & I was torn to pieces over the gift I gave my kid's teacher – people called me cheap but it's not about money Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MUM has hit back after being torn apart for the gifts she got her kid's teacher. Heidi Powell, an influencer and mum-of-four shared an image of the goodies to social media. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 Heidi Powell shared the gifts she got the teachers to thank them Credit: Instagram 2 But not everyone was thrilled with her gift Credit: Supplied But the clip has recently resurfaced after being filmed three years ago as parents seek out ideas for end-of-year presents. It has become common for parents to buy gifts for teachers as a thank you for all they've done. But it seems Heidi's gifts didn't hit the mark. Taking to Instagram, she shared an image of the goodies she got for the teachers. In the image, it showed three wrapped sweets all themed around school. The first was a sugar cookie iced to look like a sheet of paper with an 'A' grade. She also picked up a sweet shaped as a pencil as well as a red apple. But her sweet gesture received an overwhelming negative response. One person said 'this irritates me to no end' and urged parents 'don't give teachers s**t like this' as they thought that cash or gift cards was a more appropriate reward. Someone else said the post had them 'riled up' because they'd once been the person who had agonised over a 'perfect, most thoughtful end-of-year gift'. Watch as ex-teacher reveals why she quit and doubled her income They said they now look to see if the school has an Amazon Wish List of supplies to really help teachers out and spare them from needing to fork over their own money. Another parent said the best sort of gift was 'a thoughtful note from the student', and if it was going to be something material, it had better be a gift card or cash. Others said they thought Powell's gift of brightly coloured sweets had been chosen to 'look nice on Instagram'. A baker even chipped in to say that the 'cutesy sweets offerings' might look nice, but were probably not great to eat, saying they were pretty much 'inedible' and coated in 'a really cheap sugar product that can hold a lot of dye'. Quite a few teachers chipped in to say that food would probably end up being thrown away or deposited in the teacher's lounge and they said 'please no mugs' to parents or pupils on the lookout for gift ideas. Despite the negative comments, the mum praised teachers for their hard work over the year, proving it was the thought that counts.
