Shiva: From ‘I' to ‘We' – The Journey Beyond Self

Shiva, beyond deity, embodies the universe's rhythm, residing within us as witness and breath. He dissolves ego, transforming 'I' into 'We,' fostering compassion and unity. As the destroyer of illusion, Shiva halts desires, initiating renewal from endings, urging inward exploration to break inner barriers and realize our interconnectedness with the cosmos. In the silence between two heartbeats, in the stillness behind a thought, in the breath that forgets itself—He resides. He is the most disorganised chaos and the most organised order. He is the one who dances wildly in cremation grounds and yet meditates in serene stillness atop Mount Kailash. He is Shiva—formless yet the source of all forms, finite in appearance but infinite in essence. To speak of Shiva is not to describe a deity in stone or myth, but to touch that which pulses through the fabric of all creation. In the Upanishadic silence, in the Vedic chants , in the meditations of sages, Shiva emerges not just as a god, but as a state of being. He is the dissolution of boundaries, the collapse of duality. The 'I' That Becomes 'We' In the realm of ego, the world is divided—mine and yours, self and other. The small, isolated 'I' stands fearful, defensive, proud. But Shiva, in his divine grace, does not eliminate the 'I'—He enters it. He resides within it, transforms it, and gradually erodes its walls until 'I' expands into 'We.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like No annual fees for life UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo This is not just wordplay but profound transformation. When we say 'Aham Brahmasmi'—I am That—we do not negate the self but awaken to its larger truth. Shiva teaches us that we are not isolated drops but part of the eternal ocean. It is His presence that softens our boundaries and makes compassion possible. It is He who dwells within the caregiver who says, 'We are in this together,' turning illness into wellness. That single addition of 'We' is the divine medicine—Shiva's touch in human suffering. The STOP That STARTs It All Shiva is the great destroyer—not of life, but of illusion. He halts us in our relentless race of desires, in our cycles of greed, anger, and confusion. When we confront loss, pain, or death, we stand at the great 'STOP' of life. But Shiva does not leave us there. From that void, He whispers a new song—the silence that follows the end is not emptiness but the beginning of a new awareness. In every ending, He lays the seed of a beginning. The ashes from which He smears His body are not signs of despair but of transformation. From the ash of burning expectations, ego, and attachments, He creates a space for the new. In that way, Shiva is not a god of fear, but of freedom. Not a god of destruction, but of deep renewal. Dancing in the Cosmos, Dwelling in the Heart His cosmic dance—the Tandava—is not a violent storm, but the rhythm of the universe itself. Birth, life, death, and rebirth are but steps in His eternal choreography. The galaxies swirl with His energy, yet He remains still within. But Shiva is not distant. He is the closest truth within us. He is the witness behind our thoughts, the listener of our silence, the breath that breathes us. He is the one who helps us disidentify from our masks, our roles, and our pains. He does not ask us to become someone else—but to become no one. And in becoming no one, we become everything. Aum Namah Shivaya: The Five Sacred Fires The sacred chant Aum Namah Shivaya is not just a mantra but a spiritual journey . Each syllable resonates with the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space—reminding us that the divine is not separate but embedded in every atom of our being. This mantra burns ignorance, purifies the mind, awakens the heart, and grounds the spirit. It is an invitation to dissolve into Him, not as a surrender in defeat, but as a union in love. From Self to Shiva To walk the path of Shiva is to dare to look within. To shed false certainties. To meet our own inner wilderness. To recognize that the one sitting quietly inside us is the same one dancing in the stars. The ultimate journey is not upward or outward—it is inward. Shiva does not ask for temples of stone; He asks us to break the walls of our inner prison. And when that happens, the 'I' that once trembled in fear dissolves into the 'We' that flows with grace. He is not just the end. He is the beginning that begins after every end. Advance bookings for Ganesh prasad begin as festival draws closer

Pune: Pre-bookings for modaks and laddoos have surged ahead of Ganesh festival as devotees prepare to offer sweet delicacies to the idol. Home-based businesses are witnessing a significant uptick in orders for both traditional steamed ukadiche modak, fried modak, and even churma laddoo. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now With the festival approaching, the increased demand has also led to a rise in prices of ingredients like coconut and jaggery. "We placed pre-orders for modaks with a nearby home chef. She follows the traditional recipes, and her modaks are loved by all who visit our home to offer prayers to Ganapati," said Neelam Choksi, a resident of Aundh. Dipti Sathe, a resident of Salisbury Park, said that she pre-ordered churma laddoo for prasad for the Ganesh festival. "As days progress, it becomes difficult to get good quality vendors to supply prasad. We keep the idol for five days, so I placed orders for alternate day deliveries," she said. Sonali Chaudhari, a home chef and resident of Wagholi, prepares traditional modaks for the festival. "Bookings have already started, and there is a good demand for prasad, modaks of all types. I make many traditional varieties as well, for which I get specific orders," she said. Shweta Agarwal has collaborated with vendors in her area in Wanowrie to supply modaks for the festival. "We have many pre-orders for modaks. While ukadiche modaks need to be consumed immediately, the fried modaks have a longer shelf life. Pricing is done on a piece-wise basis. This year, almost all the ingredients have become expensive, and the price per piece is higher by Rs 6-7," she said. Gulkand kaju katli is also trending this year as prasad for the festival. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Pooja Deshkar, who runs a cloud kitchen in Pimpri Chinchwad, said she was taking bulk orders for modaks. "Pre-bookings will pick up after Raksha Bandhan. I also make chocolate-flavoured modaks, amba modaks, and dry fruit modaks, depending on the order. We increased the prices this year by Rs 5-6 per piece because everything is more expensive," she said. Apart from modaks, residents are also choosing to purchase churma laddoos for the festival. "We are listed on online food delivery platforms and get orders for churma laddoos via those as well as pre-bookings. Orders will increase further by next week," said Deepa Thakkar, who runs her cloud kitchen from Hadapsar.

Gifts to give your sister as per her zodiac sign for Raksha Bandhan in 2025

In 2025, Mangal (Mars) governs the celestial tide, intensifying themes of protection, devotion, and purposeful action—qualities deeply embedded in the sacred bond of Raksha Bandhan. In Vedic astrology, Mars represents the Kshatriya spirit—the one who shields, initiates, and stands in strength. This makes 2025 an especially powerful time for siblings to deepen their karmic connection. Choosing a gift based on your sister's zodiac sign can align the gesture with her planetary ruler, tattva (element), and inner dharma. Here's a thoughtfully curated guide. Aries (Mesha) – Ruled by Mars (Mangal) Gift: Red Jasper bracelet or energizing yantra Why: Mars gives Aries boldness but also restlessness. Red Jasper and sacred yantras help channel her vitality into purpose and discipline—very aligned in this Mangal year. Taurus (Vrishabha) – Ruled by Venus (Shukra) Gift: Luxurious silk shawl or rose-scented attar Why: Venus governs aesthetics, comfort, and refinement. Such gifts nurture her connection to Shukra tattva (earthy sensuality) and boost inner harmony. Gemini (Mithuna) – Ruled by Mercury (Budh) Gift: Handmade journal with sacred geometry or Tulsi mala Why: Mercury rules intellect and expression. Gifts that support her vāk shakti (speech power) and promote sattvic thought uplift her Budh-aligned mind. Cancer (Karka) – Ruled by Moon (Chandra) Gift: Pearl ring or silver photo frame Why: The Moon governs emotions and memory. Pearls stabilize the emotional body, and silver is a lunar metal that enhances her intuitive and nurturing nature. Leo (Simha) – Ruled by Sun (Surya) Gift: Gold-plated pendant or sun-engraved mirror Why: Surya is the atmakaraka (soul indicator) for Leos. Gold enhances her inner radiance and confidence, while solar symbols deepen her connection to dharma and self-worth. Virgo (Kanya) – Ruled by Mercury (Budh) Gift: Eco-stationery set or Rudraksha bracelet Why: Virgos value practicality and purity. Gifts that support organized thinking and spiritual grounding balance their Budhic energy. Libra (Tula) – Ruled by Venus (Shukra) Gift: Crystal diffuser or artwork with sacred balance symbols Why: Librans thrive on harmony. Gifts that calm Shukra's aesthetic sensitivity help restore inner balance in this active Mars year. Scorpio (Vrischika) – Ruled by Mars (Mangal) & Ketu (co-lord) Gift: Obsidian crystal or guided shadow-work journal Why: Scorpios experience Mars on a deeper, more transformative octave. Obsidian protects psychic energy; reflective tools help them harness hidden power. Sagittarius (Dhanu) – Ruled by Jupiter (Guru) Gift: Vedic philosophy book or copper kalash Why: Jupiter seeks wisdom. Gifts tied to spiritual expansion or rituals awaken their dharmic path, especially in a year focused on sacred protection. Capricorn (Makara) – Ruled by Saturn (Shani) Gift: Antique timepiece or Shani yantra Why: Shani values structure and legacy. Gifts at connect to timelessness or discipline honor their karmic journey and resilience. Aquarius (Kumbha) – Ruled by Saturn (Shani) & Rahu (co-lord) Gift: Singing bowl or futuristic tech with spiritual use Why: This air sign is both wise and progressive. Healing sound tools or conscious tech help merge Saturn's depth with Rahu's innovation. Pisces (Meena) – Ruled by Jupiter (Guru) Gift: Handmade mala or dream journal Why: Pisceans are spiritually inclined. Jupiter here brings empathy and expansion. A mala aids in japa sadhana, while a journal helps them anchor dream-like visions. This article is written by Prashant Kapoor, Celebrity Astrologer, Founder, AstroKapoor.
