'Housefull 5' director Tarun Mansukhani has finally broken silence on the film objectifying women and for its sexist tone. It is doing the numbers but it has also been criticized for its blatant objectification.
Mansukhani said, 'I feel like that there's a lot of scrutiny on social media. I also believe that scrutiny tends to only happen on successful films.'
He added, 'You tend to keep quiet if a film isn't working at all. That's when no one has any opinion and they don't say anything. So, when people are making noise about my film, I actually feel very happy about it.'

The director further revealed, 'It means that they're watching it with a certain eye and sensibility. You can scrutinise it. That's fine. You've paid money to watch it and so, you get to have an opinion on my film.'
'It's not a placid film about which you don't care or have an opinion. For those who're calling it out, I want to say that it's your choice of seeing and focusing on that aspect of the film,' added the Housefull 5 director.
Ever since Deepika Padukone has quit Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, people like Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Mani Ratnam, Rana Daggubati have supported her stand. 'Housefull 5' director Tarun Mansukhani has done the same recently but his choices of words are getting mixed reactions.
The director said, 'You can't come to me at 11 am and say, 'Oh, I need to leave at 5.' I have scenes to finish with other actors, a location that may not be available again, and a budget to look into.'
He added, 'I want to go home and spend time with my dog. So I get the vibe and totally get the feeling. But just put it in the contract from the beginning, then everyone's prepared.'

Housefull 5 Box Office Collection Day 7: Akshay Kumar's whodunit comedy crosses Rs 200 cr mark globally; makes three times what Kesari 2 earned in a week
Housefull 5 Box Office Collection Day 7: Tarun Mansukhani's Housefull 5 is continuing its box office climb as the film nears its second weekend on the big screen. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film's Indian nett collection has grown to Rs 127 crore in just 7 days while globally the Akhsay Kumar-starrer has crossed Rs 200 crore mark. This is almost three times what Akshay Kumar's courtroom drama Kesari 2 made in its first week. Starring Akshay, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, the film only made Rs 46 crores during the first 7-day theatrical run, and interestingly Housefull 5 has already overtaken the film with regard to its nett collection in India. The film will go past Tinu Suresh Desai's 2016 crime thriller Rustom (Rs 127.49 crore) during the course of the next day. Akshay will be setting his sights on other movies, such as Raja Krishna Menon's 2016 political thriller Airlift (Rs 128.1 crore), Shree Narayan Singh's 2017 romantic comedy Toilet – Ek Prem Katha (Rs 134.22 crore), S Shankar's 2018 Tamil sci-fi fantasy 2.0 (Rs 189.55 crore), and Jagan Shakti's 2019 workplace drama Mission Mangal (Rs 202.98 crore). Naturally Airlift will be the first domino to fall, and the star-studded cast of the film and its two separate endings might help it cross Toilet-Ek Prem Katha as well during the weekend. Even though the whodunit narrative has brought in big numbers during its first week, it still has a sizable distance to cover before it reaches Housefull 4, which made Rs 194.6 crore during its theatrical run. It can be argued that the two separate endings of the film have benefited the makers of the film. The climax which reveals the identity of the killer is different in both the endings, a tactic which has been used to attract bigger box-office numbers. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Chunky Panday, Ranjit, Dino Morea, Fardeen Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Nana Patekar, and Soundarya Sharma, among others.

Chunky Panday says he attended a funeral for money, was told he'll get more if he cries: ‘The body was right in front of me'
Chunky Panday, who went through rough times in the mid-1990s after being a successful movie actor for nearly a decade, recently shared that he once attended a funeral in exchange for money. Chunky shared that this happened 38 years ago and while he did get paid for attending a funeral, it wasn't something that he actively agreed to beforehand. Chunky shared that the man who called him for the funeral offered to pay him more money if he managed to shed a tear or two. In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, Chunky shared that he landed at a funeral 'by mistake' and that it was 'not out of choice.' He said that actors, in the 1980s, did not have many alternate streams of income. There was no social media, actors were not present in advertising so they could only make money via movies and attending events. 'In those days, there was no source of income besides doing films or going for events. There was no Instagram, YouTube, no ads also. It was a different world that time,' he said. Chunky recalled that one day, he received a call from an event organiser who wanted him to stop by at a place for ten minutes. Chunky shared that he was going for a shoot but the event was on his way so the organiser asked him to stop by. 'He asked me to come in white clothes. I thought it's a theme. He didn't tell me where he was calling me. I reached and saw a lot of crowd outside and everyone was dressed in white, so I thought it's a big event,' he said. 'As I went inside, I saw a dead body lying there. I am so innocent that I thought the organiser died. Then the organiser came to me and I asked him, 'Who died?' He said, 'It's a funeral that I have called you for'. I couldn't shout, throw tantrums, I am in the middle of a funeral and the body was right in front of me. He told me, 'If you cry, I will give you more money'. The actor who went with me cried a lot, he got Rs 50,000 more,' Chunky recalled with a laugh. The Housefull 5 actor then shared the reason as to why he was called there. He was told that the man who died had taken a lot of loans and the family was scared that the creditors will come and ask for their money, so they came up with a plan. 'There was a reason why we were called there. The one who died, he was under a lot of debt. His family was scared that the creditors will come and they will have to return the money. So they had spread the rumour that he produced a film and all his money went in that. Actors were called to create the impression that he was producing a film,' he said.
