Shopping expert shares top Roman picks from new boho range

Mirror shopping expert Lucy Addicott has picked her favourite Roman items from the fashion brand's new Effortless Summer collection
High street fashion brand Roman has shared its latest clothing collection and it's ideal for summer. The Effortless Summer 2025 range is inspired by bohemian romance and breezy escapes.
Expect floaty dresses, stylish yet comfortable jumpsuits, tops, and trousers in a selection of neutral hues and vibrant prints. The collection covers petite and curve pieces, with prices starting at £15.
Plus, for a limited time, shoppers can bag some bits at even more of a bargain. The brand says this collection focuses on 'breathable fabrics, fashionable textures, on-trend silhouettes and vacation-ready styles', and customers are spoilt for choice.
Shopping expert Lucy has selected a few of her favourite pieces and shares how shoppers can save by using code SHINE at checkout. Using the code, customers will receive a 10% discount that automatically reduces the price of all items in the basket, including new-in.
Lucy has searched the new collection and picked out a few of her favourite pieces. From strappy dresses to figure-flattering tops, there's something for everyone.
Blue Petite Border Print Shirred Midi Dress
The tile print design of this blue and white printed midi dress has us dreaming of turquoise oceans and sunny Greek islands. On sale for £37.80, it's the gorgeous full skirt that steals the show.
Shirred fabric is really comfortable to wear and the ruffled shoulder straps give beautiful detail to elevate the dress. It is made from 100% cotton, giving it a super soft and breathable feel. However, shoppers should be wary when washing, as cotton needs a little extra care to stop it from shrinking.
Pink Petite Floral Tiered Maxi Dress
Whether strolling in a city or chilling in the garden, this pink maxi dress is a sensational pick and shoppers have said they 'love the colour and style' of it. The elasticated waistband is universally flattering, creating a fit and flare silhouette. Pair with sandals and a denim jacket for a warm weather ensemble or dress it up with accessories and wear as a wedding guest dress.
For a limited time, using the code, customers can get it for £43.20. It is important to note, however, that the shoulder straps are not adjustable, which may be a problem for some shoppers.
Ivory Fruit Print Strappy Midi Dress
Fruit print is a trendy option for this season and perfect as we head towards warmer weather. Roman's Fruit Print Strappy Midi Dress is bursting with colour, and shoppers have said it is 'pretty'. Someone who has a 'pear-shaped' figure and is a size 16 also mentioned that the dress is 'very flattering'.
Stocked in sizes 10 to 20 and now on sale for £40.50, pair with gold jewellery and wedge sandals for a summer-ready look. Fruit print is also the pattern of the moment at Next, with the Bright Orange Fruit Print Button Down Puff Sleeve Midi Dress retailing for £47. Customers say they have 'received lots of compliments' since wearing it.
Red Curve Ikat Paisley Asymmetric Overlay Top
Available in sizes 16 to 32, this boho top would look lovely paired with denim jeans, as the model above showcases, or with a floaty maxi skirt. It's also a style that could be worn over swimwear on holiday when lounging at the beach or pool, making it the perfect item for styling different ways while jetting off on holiday.
Although it's not made from 100% chiffon, it still has a similar look and feel. Shoppers who prefer chiffon might want to consider this Bow Top from Free People. It comes in sizes small to extra large but is more expensive at £118.
Black Ric Rac Strap Detail Jumpsuit
Roman's new collection also caters to shoppers who prefer to keep their colour palette neutral. The Black Ric Rac Strap Detail Jumpsuit comes in khaki or black and features a stand-out white trim. Now available for £36, it might be brand new, but customers are already snapping it up.
One happy shopper said: "It looks great for a relaxed evening at the pub or on holiday." A second wrote: "Stylish looking outfit for day and evening." However, it has been noted the cropped length may not be the desired length for those with longer legs.
For those looking for a tall option, this Navy Blue Twist Front Wide Leg Jumpsuit from Long Tall Sally is designed for shoppers 5'8 and above. It's £35 and has a flattering twist feature that'll cinch wearers in at the waist.

How I look like this at 45 and how you can too, by former Olympian and celeb PT Sarah Lindsay Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FOR many of us, our 40s are a time when things start to shift. Energy levels dip, weight becomes harder to control, and mystery aches and pains strike. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Sarah Lindsay is a three-time Olympic speed-skater and founder of personal-training gym Roar Fitness But not for Sarah Lindsay, a three-time Olympic speed-skater and founder of personal-training gym Roar Fitness. Based in London and Dubai, the PT is among the Instagram influencers proving that being 'fit' doesn't have an age limit. After turning 45 in June, she's cracked the code when it comes to thriving in midlife, saying she feels: 'Fit, strong and calm.' Here, Sarah reveals exactly what it takes to look and feel that good – and you don't have to be an Olympian to achieve it. Walk Every Day I walk most mornings at 6am, usually for around 45 minutes, which is about 6,000 steps. It warms me up and gets my body moving, and it also helps clear my mind ready for the day. Walking is such an underrated form of exercise – whether it's taking a stroll at lunchtime, doing the school run on foot or meeting friends for a walk and talk, it's a simple activity to incorporate into your day. Eat Protein For Breakfast I start the day with three eggs or 300g of steak and vegetables. I appreciate most people don't want steak for breakfast – Greek yoghurt is also high in protein, so just mix with some nuts for a dose of healthy fats. The protein from the eggs or steak helps support my muscles, plus it keeps me feeling full. I choose savoury over sweet, because a high-sugar breakfast can cause a spike in blood glucose levels, followed by a crash, and then the need for more sugar or caffeine to pick the energy back up. Sarah Lynsey's home and gym workout to get a body like Sydney Sweeney Take Collagen daily I add Correxiko Marine Collagen Powder, £39.95 for 30 servings, to my morning coffee and evening hot chocolate. I also take a spoonful of collagen jelly at some point during the day. Collagen helps to support my joints, bones and muscles, plus keeps my gut health and my skin looking young. Add Supplements My top-five supplements are magnesium, zinc, creatine, collagen and NAD+ (a coenzyme found in every cell of the body). These help me recover after exercise, sleep well, improve my cognitive function and reduce inflammation, which helps to stop me falling ill. Do an Afternoon Workout As I've grown older, I feel more vulnerable to injury in the mornings, so I save more intense workouts for later in the day, once my muscles have warmed up. I will never train without eating first. Training when fasted doesn't make you burn more fat, but it does increase your chance of burning muscle. Aim for 40-Minute Sessions I weight train for 40 minutes, three times a week, doing full-body workouts. Any more than that and I struggle to stay focused. I always train with a plan – I don't just wing exercise and hope for the best. Every session has a clear purpose, with no ego lifting, just smart training that keeps me moving and living well. On days that I do train, I have a protein shake afterwards to help my recovery. Switch it up regularly You have to mix up your weight training every month or so, otherwise your body will stop adapting and progressing. I tend to change the exercises I do, the amount of weights I lift and/or the length of rest periods between exercise sets. I'll also change my training focus, such as strength, muscle growth, endurance, conditioning or power, so that I can keep improving, getting stronger and fitter. At the moment, I'm doing 15 reps per set, because I am in a conditioning phase. This means I'm improving my aerobic fitness and muscular endurance. Increase Rest Time I do exercises in pairs and alternate between upper- and lower-body movements. For example, a set of squats immediately followed by a set of bicep curls. It's important to do compound moves, like squats, which involve multiple joints and muscles, as well as isolation moves, such as bicep curls, which involve one muscle or joint. Your training programme depends on your health, injuries, experience and current level of fitness, rather than your actual age. The most important thing to adjust as you get older is to increase your rest times – as you age, you need more rest days to support recovery. If you don't recover, you don't improve. Opt for Home-Cooked food When I'm eating at home, I keep it simple. For lunch, I have two salmon fillets, potatoes and salad. For dinner, I eat three chicken thighs with rice and veg. Being organised is important, because if I'm starving I'll go for the most convenient food, whatever it is. So having something balanced and healthy already made helps me avoid fast food. I will have a couple of snacks during the day, such as nuts, fruit or sometimes toast. I don't count calories, but it can be useful if you're trying to make changes to body composition, such as getting leaner or adding muscle. Never Ban Treats I do have a sweet tooth and I don't restrict myself, which is why I never binge on sweet stuff. Food is one of life's greatest pleasures, and if I want something, then I will have it. My go-to sweet treat is always dark chocolate. I like Booja-Booja, because it's rich and full of flavour, so I only need a couple of chocolates to feel satisfied. Or I'll have a few dates or some sweet popcorn. If you have unhealthy eating habits or if you feel guilty when you eat treats, you need to try to reframe your thinking. This is a huge and complicated topic and very individual, so it's difficult for me to advise. The most important thing is to not beat yourself up about it, and to try and make a realistic plan to form new habits. Limit Alcohol intake Alcohol is my biggest nutritional downfall – I'll drink champagne to celebrate, have wine with dinner, Aperol on holiday or a gin and tonic at my local pub, but I'm pretty good at having a few, then stopping. When you realise how much more productive you feel the next day without overdoing the alcohol, it makes it far easier to stop after just a few. It's also a good idea to drink water between each alcoholic drink, as this slows down your drinking. Know your Numbers I have semi-regular blood tests to check if I'm deficient in any nutrients. If you can't get in shape because you constantly crave certain foods and alcohol, then it's worth checking for deficiencies. For example, if you're always craving dark chocolate, it could mean you're deficient in magnesium, or craving salty snacks might mean a sodium deficiency. From the age of 40, everyone should be getting their NHS Health Check every five years, which measures things like blood pressure and cholesterol. Refine your Bedtime Routine A bit of discipline can go a long way to improving your sleep quality. Aim to finish eating three hours before going to bed, and stop using your phone or anything else digital at least an hour before bed. A colder room can often help you sleep better, and if you're someone with a busy brain, journalling before getting into bed can be a game-changer to get your thoughts out of your head and on to paper.

Lucy Bronze cosies up with Spain football star in Ibiza following Lionesses' Euro 2025 win

The Lionesses have been enjoying some much deserved downtime following their second consecutive European Championship win - and several players have jetted out to the Spanish party island of Ibiza Lioness legend Lucy Bronze has been snapped cosying up with fellow footballer, Spanish international Ona Batlle. Just weeks ago they were fierce rivals, but this week the pair were seen wearing matching orange bikinis as they soaked up the sun in Ibiza. ‌ Wearing matching snorkelling goggles, the pair enjoyed a dip in the Mediterranean Sea and were seen laughing together on a paddle board before rinsing each other off on the deck of a white yacht. Lucy, 33, from Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, is rumoured to have been dating Ona, 26, from Catalonia, for several years. ‌ Although neither players have officially confirmed their relationship, they have shared cosy holiday snaps from a number of trips including one to Disneyland Paris in December 2024. And just weeks before the Women's European Championship in Switzerland kicked off last month, the pair shared photos from another sunny getaway in Altea, just five miles north of Benidorm. ‌ When the Lionesses came from behind to beat Spain and take home the Euros trophy, Lucy was moved to tears as she was seen comforting Ona after the final whistle. It was a moment that echoed similar scenes following the World Cup final in 2023, when the heartbroken Lionesses lost 1-0 to Spain in Sydney, Australia. Then Ona was the one who had held Lucy as she wept into her lap while sitting in the dugouts. The pair are thought to have grown close while playing together at Barcelona. And Lucy, who moved from Barcelona FC to Chelsea last year, was one of the first Lionesses to go over and comfort her former teammates following England's victory in July. After their incredible Euros 25 campaign, several Lionesses have been enjoying some much deserved downtime. Among those who have also jetted out to Ibiza are Lauren James, Ella Toone and Ella's boyfriend Joe Bunney. Ella, 25, from Tyldesley, Greater Manchester and Joe shared loved-up snaps on Instagram of their trip to the San Antonio side of the island, where they visited Ocean Beach and super club Ushuaia. The couple had joined Ella's teammate and best pal Alessia Russo, 26, and her Love Island star brother Giorgio to watch Oasis at Wembley before jetting off. Captain Leah Williamson flew stateside to watch a basketball game with her close friend and former Miss USA Elle Smith. And England hero Chloe Kelly, 27, who scored the winning penalty in the final was given a heroes welcome when she returned to a street party with all her pals in West London. She was pictured alongside husband Scott Moore wearing a yellow Corteiz jersey - a London streetwear brand which the striker has enjoyed a number of collaborations with.

Vicky Pattison's 'Bond girl' tummy-control swimsuit has a hidden meaningful detail

Vicky Pattison is fresh off her trip to Iceland and has been hailed as giving 'bond girl vibes' by fans for her flattering tummy-control swimsuit which hides a meaningful detail After taking part in the amazing Coppafeel trek across Iceland last month, Vicky Pattison opted to spend a few more days resting and relaxing in Reykjavik before heading home. During her trip she shared plenty of pics, with one in particular catching the attention of fans. Posing in one of the country's famous lagoons, one fan commented 'Bond girl vibes' on the snap of her emerging from the water, whilst others asked for details of her swimwear. Thankfully for those looking to create their own Bond girl moment, we've tracked down Vicky's exact swimsuit and it's still available in all sizes. In the photo, Vicky was wearing Next's Zipped Shaping Tummy Control Swimsuit, which you can still pick up for £40 in sizes six to 24. The swimsuit has tummy control mesh which helps to sculpt and support your body, with high cut legs and scoop neckline for a flattering fit. The non-wired design has fully removable pads in the chest, but this hasn't just been done for a case of personal preference or easy washing. The internal chest pockets are extra wide to allow those who've had a mastectomy to insert their own prosthesis if they prefer, or adjust the cups to fit the shape that feels most comfortable for them. Considering Vicky's Coppafeel trek was to raise money and support for those struggling with breast cancer, it was the perfect choice of swimsuit for the occasion. Of course Next isn't the only place you can pick up swimsuits with these design features in mind. At Marks & Spencer, the Post surgery Tummy Control Belted Swimsuit is £35 and features both a tummy control panel and non-wired padded cups for added comfort. The dual pockets are also specially built-in to allow your prosthesis room, with added stretch to keep everything feeling secure. At Land's End, the Grecian V-neck Slender Swimsuit, £85, also features a soft cup bra with prosthesis pockets and is made from a high-compression material to hold everything in place and make you feel comfortable. If you want a little less compression, it's worth sizing up. However Vicky's Zipped Shaping Tummy Control Swimsuit from Next is also available in a choice of three different colours. Her ecru version, which features black piping around the edges and a contrasting black zipper, was perfect for nailing the Bond girl vibe. You can also pick it up in other colours, including khaki green with black trim and zip details, or bright pink with bold red piping and zip for a more colourful, playful look. Shoppers have also praised it, with one saying: 'Good design and nice colour. I ordered a size bigger than usual as there was a note on the description to say this is a smaller fit than usual. I didn't find that to be the case and so returned it for the next size down- which is fine!' Another added: 'I love the colour and style. Didn't realise it was 'tummy control', feels pretty normal to me. The pads in cups move around which is annoying, I suppose that's in case you want to take them out but as a result they need rearranging after wearing / rinsing etc Good cut, good fit, nice style. Am pleased with it and it was a reasonable price so overall would recommend.' There's only one review not giving it a full five stars, which simply says: 'Is a nice swimsuit.'
