Awqaf honours participants in fourth ‘Our Summer, Our Way' programme

The Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs concluded the fourth edition of the 'Our Summer, Our Way' programme, with a closing ceremony held at the Nasser Bin Abdullah Al Misnad Mosque in the city of Al Khor, in the presence of several educational and social figures, parents, and representatives of participating entities.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry said the ceremony featured performances by participating students, including religious chants, segments on the Prophet's biography, and simplified explanations of the rules of ablution and acts of worship they learned during the programme.
The event also included the honouring of cooperating institutions and outstanding students in the cultural competitions held as part of the summer activities.
In his speech during the ceremony, Head of the Religious Guidance Section at the Dawah Department Moaz Al Qasimi praised the contribution of the participating entities in making the programme a success.
He noted that the programme aims to utilise the summer vacation by offering educational, moral, and recreational content that helps enhance students' values and skills.
During the ceremony, the ministry honoured the Internal Security Force Lekhwiya, the Traffic Department, the Mosques Department, and the Scholarships Section in appreciation of their role in supporting the programme through awareness activities, recreational programmes, and field trips, as part of an active community partnership. Awards were also distributed to outstanding students in the Cubs and Youth categories.
The programme's activities were designed by a team of experts from the Ministry of Endowments to address educational, cultural, and skill-building aspects. They included Quranic lectures, courses on acts of worship, sports and cultural activities, training on the call to prayer (Adhan) and vocal improvement, as well as external trips.
The programme was launched on July 7 across 10 Dawah centres distributed throughout the country. It targeted 10 to 15 years old age group. It ran four days a week during the morning period and featured specialised cultural and skills-building activities within the centres, in addition to external courses carried out in collaboration with several entities, providing participants with a comprehensive educational experience.

QNA Doha The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) on Monday organised an orientation meeting for new students on scholarship to study in universities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Europe for the academic year 2025-2026. The meeting aimed to prepare students for the upcoming academic year and help them make the most of this unique educational opportunity. In an opening speech, Acting Director of the Scholarships Department at MoEHE Noura Al Ansari emphasised the importance of this meeting in building bridges of communication with the students studying abroad and providing them with the necessary support by preparing them for the scholarship experience. She also introduced them to the role of the Scholarships Department, their rights and responsibilities, and provided advice and guidance. She highlighted the importance of equipping students with knowledge and skills to serve the nation and contribute to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, noting that the relationship between the ministry and the scholarship student is based on a clear contract that defines mutual obligations, while explaining that hard work and commitment are the foundations of success. In turn, Cultural Attache at the Embassy of Qatar to the United Kingdom Fahad Al Kuwari provided a detailed explanation of the Attache's role in serving scholarship students during their studies and the nature of these services which include guidance, counselling, and academic supervision until graduation. Al Kuwari explained the Attache's role towards scholarship students, offering valuable and important advice, including the importance of continuous communication with their families and the Attache, along with behaving in an exemplary manner, understanding the laws of the host country, and adhering to rules and guidelines during their studies. He also informed the students of the incentives the Attache awards to outstanding students. For her part, Director of the Scholarship Programme for Universities in the United Kingdom and Ireland Ahlam Al Emadi discussed the procedures for activating scholarships, the relevant requirements before travel and upon arrival at the scholarship location, as well as the procedures that help students begin their university journey with confidence and responsibility. Al Emadi also discussed the procedures for changing universities or scholarship locations, as well as the process to suspend, extend, or withdraw from a scholarship. She also reviewed graduation procedures and communication with the Cultural Attache to obtain certification of university degrees and transcripts, as well as communication with the scholarship official at the MoEHE to complete graduation procedures. The MoEHE held a similar meeting last month for Qatari students on scholarships to Education City universities, universities in the US, and Canada for the 2025-2026 academic year. This meeting reflects the ministry's commitment to developing qualified national cadres who contribute to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 in the areas of human and knowledge development.

These marine gardens, aglow with the shimmer of coral hues and the graceful motion of sea creatures, carry messages from radiant realms of beauty that hold within them the secrets of nature and the challenges of the future, where divine artistry reveals itself in every corner of these hidden worlds beneath the waves. Overlooking the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf, coral reefs in Qatar stand as a natural treasure reflecting the nation's distinctive marine biodiversity. Composed of calcium structures secreted by corals, minute organisms living in interconnected colonies, these reefs form intricate habitats that shelter a rich variety of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks, making them a focal point of biodiversity. Qatar's reefs are home to more than 200 species of fish and 35 species of hard and soft corals, attesting to the richness of the ecosystem. They also provide natural havens for rare species such as sea turtles and small sharks, underscoring their ecological significance. Notwithstanding their precious beauty and value, these coral reefs face a myriad of challenges. Director of the Department of Wildlife Development at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Khaled Juma Bougjamhour Al Muhannadi, highlighted that Qatar has been marshalling systematic efforts through preparing and executing professional policies and programmes with the intent of protecting these reefs and marine habitat. These efforts entail conducting comprehensive field surveys and research and backing the environmental rehabilitation initiatives as part of Qatar's ironclad commitment to sustaining its natural resources and conserving biodiversity in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030, Al Muhannadi said. He affirmed that coral reefs in Qatar constitute one of the marine ecosystem pillars, as well as a habitat and a source to feed a variety of marine species, in addition to shielding coasts from erosion and preserving biodiversity. These reefs harbour a rich and diverse array of corals, making them a critical component in supporting food security and the sustainability of the marine environment. MoEHE launches 2 summer centres for student registration, transportation
QNA Doha The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has inaugurated two summer centres for student registration and transportation in public schools during the summer break. This initiative is part of the ministry's efforts to enhance educational services and improve administrative efficiency in preparation for the 2025–2026 academic year. In a statement, the ministry explained that the step aligns with the approved student registration plan, which includes organizational and precautionary measures to ensure smooth student distribution, early handling of special cases, and convenient services for parents away from the usual congestion at the start of the school year. The ministry noted that operating the two centers aims to maintain registration and transportation services throughout the summer vacation, reduce pressure on schools and the ministry's headquarters, especially during the first two weeks of the academic year, and ensure student participation from the first day of classes. Specialised teams working within a clear administrative framework will help shorten transaction times. Two schools have been designated as official locations for the summer centers: Al Ahnaf Bin Qais Preparatory School for Boys as the center for men, and Ahmad Mansour Primary School for Boys as the center for women. Both centres are equipped with qualified administrative staff and integrated electronic systems in line with the approved registration and admission policy. The centres operate daily from Sunday to Thursday, from 8 AM to 2 PM, providing ample time for parents to complete required procedures easily and ensuring school data readiness before the academic year begins. Services include receiving visitors, reviewing applications electronically, communicating with parents, verifying documents, approving registration and transportation processes, and conducting admission tests for non-Arabic-speaking students according to established regulations. The centres are structured with leadership teams, deputies, registration staff, receptionists, and administrative supervisors, all working in an organized service environment that adheres to the highest standards of quality, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling student data. To manage appointments and enhance communication, the ministry has sent text messages via the 'Maaref' portal to previously registered parents to schedule review times and complete documentation. It also plans to launch an electronic survey to measure beneficiary satisfaction and implement a media campaign in cooperation with the Public Relations Department to raise community awareness about the importance of the summer centres.
