CM conducts Har Ghar Tiranga rally in Cuttack
The rally was part of the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign held from Aug 12 to 14, aimed at instilling pride and respect for the tricolour. The CM flagged off the procession in an open jeep, holding the national flag high, while hundreds of bikers, each carrying the tricolour, followed with chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'.
Throughout the route, residents came out in large numbers to witness and participate in the patriotic celebration.
Women, dressed in traditional attire, welcomed the CM with flowers and lit lamps, adding a cultural and emotional touch to the occasion.
Majhi underlined the deeper message behind the event and said, "Our national flag, the Tiranga, is a living testimony to our resolve, struggles, sacrifices and devotion. As per the call of our Hon'ble Prime Minister, such rallies are being organised across the country, even in villages.
The main objective is to honour and safeguard our national flag. This is an awareness drive for patriotism and the Tiranga rally plays a significant role in strengthening our national unity.
"
"We welcome the CM for choosing our locality instead of the town area for this grand rally. It means a lot to us villagers to be part of such a historic moment. It shows that the spirit of patriotism is not confined to cities but belongs to every corner of the state," Pradeep Behera, a resident of Bayalish Mouza, said.
The rally was also attended by Cuttack sadar MLA Prakash Sethi and several local representatives.

No kennel space, can't take in more stray dogs, ABC centres tell MCD
All animal birth control (ABC) centres in Delhi, on Wednesday, expressed their inability to take in any more stray dogs, citing lack of kennel space and financial constraints, TOI has learnt. This was hours after an MCD officer directed NGOs running the ABC centres to start picking up "aggressive dogs" from vulnerable points, despite Delhi CM Rekha Gupta recently asking officials concerned to refrain from taking any "harsh action" against strays till the Supreme Court pronounces its final order on the issue. Seeking anonymity, ABC centre officials told TOI, "We have informed MCD in writing that all our kennels are full. ABC centres are small and designed for only carrying out sterilisation. Not a single ABC centre in Delhi is equipped to handle long-term housing of strays." This clearly validates the stand of protesting animal rights activists who have described the Supreme Court's Aug 11 order to remove all Delhi-NCR stray dogs to distant shelters as "inhumane, unscientific & illegal" and one that doesn't take into account the practical limitations of existing infra and resources. In fact, on Tuesday only, the central government informed Parliament that it intends to regulate street dog population through its ABC programme that mandates local civic bodies to catch and release strays back to their original locations post-sterilisation. The ABC rules, framed under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, align with standards set by the World Organisation for Animal Health and promote the "Capture-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release method" for humane and effective stray population management, junior animal husbandry minister SP Singh Baghel had said.

Maoists kill villager in ‘jan adalat', issue fresh threats not to spy for Bastar police
RAIPUR: A 30-year-old villager was killed by Maoists after being accused of working as police informer during a 'jan adalat' in Kanker district of Bastar division. Maoists summoned villagers to 'jan adalat' on Monday night and had assaulted another villager but set him free after warning. Maoists have put up a banner on road nearby freshly threatening people not to spy for police or local political representatives. According to police, members of the CPI (Maoist) Partapur area committee held a 'people's court' on at Binagunda village in Chhotebethiya region. During the gathering, they accused 30-year-old tribal villager Manesh Nureti of passing information to security forces and killed him in front of locals. Binaginda is the same region where 29 Maoists were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in April last year. Police said that after the killing Maoists had also put up banners on the Sripur–Indrapur road warning of death penalty to villagers if they support police. The banners named several individuals, including panchayat sarpanch and locals alleging that they were working in collaboration with police. Maoists also named prominent cops and DRG personnel of recruiting villagers as covert operatives. Police have launched a combing operation in the affected area. Security officials said Maoists are attempting to regain ground by targeting villagers suspected of assisting security forces. Odisha CM Majhi thanks PM Modi for approval of Capital Region Ring Road project
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with members of his Council of Ministers and legislators, on Wednesday extended gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the Capital Region Ring Road (CRRR) project at a ceremony held at the State Guest House here. The CRRR will be a 111-km six-lane road project with an estimated cost of Rs 8,342 crore. The project is expected not only to ease traffic flow but also boost Bhubaneswar's development as a textile and software hub, thereby strengthening Odisha's economic prospects. Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Majhi said: "I express my heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting approval to the Capital Region Ring Road project. This transformative project will ensure smoother connectivity, accelerate industrial growth, and open new avenues for trade and investment in Odisha." During the event, it was also highlighted that global steel major POSCO, which had earlier exited the state due to massive protest, is returning to Odisha with the support of the 'double engine government'. The company in a joint venture with a leading group is set to establish a mega steel plant in Keonjhar district with an investment of over Rs 50,000 crore. Initially, the plant will have a capacity of 6 million tonnes, which will later be scaled up to 12 million tonnes. Keonjhar has been chosen as the site due to its strong infrastructure facilities including road, air, rail, water, and power connectivity. To attract more investments, the Odisha government has been conducting roadshows in Delhi, Mumbai, and Singapore, and is planning another in Hyderabad soon. With its attractive incentive package and investor-friendly industrial policy, Odisha is positioning itself as a preferred destination for national and international investors. CM Majhi also praised the approval of two semiconductors in Bhubaneswar during the last meeting of the Union Cabinet.
