The Dallas Cowboys' latest quarterback dart throw appears to be better than their last, with Joe Milton - as CowboysCountry.com has reported from our in-person OTAs observations - already moving up to No. 2 on the depth chart behind Dak Prescott.

The freak athlete, who at 6-6 and 240 has a habit of starting practice sessions with a backflip, has been taking the majority of the second-team reps at OTAs, and as we know with Joe, while he's athletically gifted, as a passer, he needs a little work.
During OTAs, he threw a Pick-six to Damone Clark, which was returned for a touchdown, but then came right back with a monster bomb to Jalen Brooks, so you get everything at quarterback with Joe.
And that brings us to minicamp at The Star.
With a host of things that CowboysCountry.com will be keeping an eye on, one will be whether Joe can solidify his standing as Dak's backup and keep Will Grier in the rearview mirror.

Over the course of the three mandatory minicamp days starting Tuesday, Milton will get the chance to take the majority of the second-team reps (maybe some first-team ones too), and it is here where he must continue his trajectory towards the backup role.

And he's already been getting in work with young receivers Brooks and Ryan Flournoy as he looks to develop chemistry ahead of camp.
We know all about Joe and his cannon of an arm - he showed that off in his one pro appearance last year before this offseason's trade from the Patriots - but what we want to see at minicamp is whether he can turn himself from a highlight reel into a capable (at this stage) backup quarterback.
The franchise wants that to happen, and he proved he can be at OTAs, but now, with minicamp here and training camp around the corner, "Bazooka Joe" has a chance to consolidate his standing in Brian Schottenheimer's offense.
Can Milton become a capable No. 2 on the Dak-led depth chart? Or maybe even something more?

One of the questions was about her thoughts on former Mercury star Diana Taurasi. The basketball icon spent her entire 20-year career in Phoenix and retired after the 2024 season. She didn't stay for one more year to have the chance to play against Bueckers, whom she views as the best player in the league. According to her, she's looked up to Taurasi since she was young and looks at her greatness as "inspiring." Advertisement "I've looked up to DT (Diana Taurasi) ever since I was little, and she's the shoes that I want to fill," Bueckers said. "And the greatness that she carried on and off the court is something that I truly admired, and it was inspiring to me. The former UConn star also commented on the 43-year-old's longevity and how she wants to imitate it. "Definitely," when asked if she would have preferred to play against Taurasi, the Rookie of the Year nominee said. "I wish I got to compete against her. But she had a great, long career. Longevity is something that I want to do as well." Like Bueckers, Taurasi was an icon for UConn from 2000 to 2004. They have a lot of similarities in their basketball career. Both won the NCAA championship and were picked first overall in their respective draft classes. Advertisement Drawing inspiration from Taurasi is a good sign for what's to come for Buecker's career.
