True Love powers home for Railway Stakes demolition
Having filled the runner-up spot on her first two starts, True Love (1-2 favourite) was an impressive winner of the Queen Mary Stakes and followed up in fine style, travelling strongly under Ryan Moore before quickening five lengths clear of stable Puerto Rico with the minimum of fuss.

O'Brien said: 'Obviously she's fast so we weren't sure she'd get six (furlongs). I suppose we were finding out a little bit about her really.
'She was a Queen Mary winner so it was very hard for Ryan not to ride her. We couldn't be happier with her really.
'Obviously the Phoenix Stakes would be there for her as well as the Prix Morny and the Cheveley Park. It was a Group Two today and she'd be ready for one of those Group Ones now.'
Coolmore supremo John Magnier was making a rare appearance on track and said: 'She's a good individual and she's very well bred, it's the Galileo family.
'Somebody told me that this is the first time in 30 years that a filly has won this race.
'There is a real pedigree there and a pedigree like that is like a road map, anything can happen.'
When asked whether he felt True Love could be a contender for next year's 1000 Guineas, for which she was cut to 16-1 from 25-1 by Paddy Power, Magnier added: 'Fingers crossed. It's no mean feat to win the Queen Mary, either.
'The old breeders used to really think a lot of that race, it started a lot of families.'

Unbeknown to RacingTV presenters Fran Berry and Donn McLean working at Galway, a racing fan dropped his trousers to moon at the screen in the background A cheeky racegoer pulled off a scene-stealing moment during live horse racing coverage on Saturday. The week long Galway Festival is one of the highlights of Ireland's racing calendar which features seven consecutive days of Flat and jumps action and is renowned for its lively atmosphere. Day six of the marathon meeting had concluded with the Kevin Coleman-trained Thatwilldoso winning the 1m4f handicap, run at 6.05pm. On course RacingTV presenters Fran Berry and Donn McLean were wrapping up the day's action when unbeknown to them their broadcast was being photo-bombed. Berry had no idea until after he finished he started receiving messages alerting him to what had been going on in the background. He took a sceen shot of the clip and posted it on his social media with the message, 'Protests about the toilet roll shortage in Galway have intensified'. Among the best responses were 'cracking selfie', 'some craic' and 'first-time cheekpieces, Fran'. Berry told Mirror Racing: 'It was quite noisy by the last race on Saturday with a syndicate-owned horse having won. We were positioned inside the winners' ring and there was a lot of cheering going on. 'As we were doing a wrap we were completely unaware of what happened behind us. As soon as we finished up I got a lot of WhatsApp message with pictures and video of the lad in question. 'It's the nature of Galway, you can see everything and anything. There was no malice, it was just lads on a day out having too good a time. It was all taken in good humour.' He added: 'There was no toilet roll shortage by the way, it was just a caption to go with it. 'Galway is very easy going, the three lads looked to be enjoying themselves and no harm was done.'

Sky Sports issue apology after triple blunder in first half of new EFL season
The EFL roared back into life over the weekend with a host of matches broadcast live to fans on Sky Sports but it wasn't a straight forward few days for the broadcaster Sky Sports were forced to issue an apology to EFL fans after THREE major errors on the opening weekend of the season. League One and Two returned across the weekend to signal the start of the 2025/26 professional league season. There was drama right across the divisions - but it appears that also spread to the Sky Sports studio having offered live coverage of the opening weekend. Among the games that they covered on Soccer Saturday was Plymouth Argyle 's opening League One clash against Barnsley following their relegation from the Championship last season. But things got off to a bad start after Julian Warren threw over to pundit Jamie Mackie after being led to believe that Caleb Watts had given Plymouth the lead. But the strike was ruled out for a foul in the build-up. There was then another howler as Warren claimed that there had been another Plymouth goal, only to find out it was indeed a Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu own goal to put Barnsley ahead. Warren said: "Goal for Plymouth, we have heard this before. Does this one count, Jamie Mackie?" Mackie then replied "It is a Plymouth player that scored... but it is at the wrong end,' despite the scoreboard graphic claiming that Plymouth were in the lead. That was then quickly changed, with Warren adding: "It is Barnsley who are in front. Apologies for the slight moment of excitement for you Plymouth fans, only to find out you're behind." Sky then made it a hat-trick of errors as Adam Phillips doubled the lead for Barnsley. But Sky Sports issued a correction claiming that the game was still 1-0 to the Tykes. Warren hilariously said: "I think the vidiprinter might still be on holiday, lying on a lounger with a couple of pina coladas." There was no drama throughout the second half, albeit supporters still took aim at the channel for other changes. Their decision to change their scoreboard graphic was one of those slammed. One fan said: 'This new sky sports scoreboard graphic is horrid.' A further viewer wrote: 'What in God's name have sky sports done to the scoreboard,' while another added: 'New sky sports scoreboard for efl is horrid.' There was also criticism during Cardiff 's opening day win against Peterborough after fans pointed out that the channel decided not to show the amount of stoppage time during the game. One fan said: 'I don't really have any issue with the new Sky Sports scoreboard but what I can't get onboard with is them not showing the added time,' with another adding: 'Why don't @SkySportsPL @SkySports @SkyFootball show how many minutes added on anymore on the scoreboard??' Al Aasy defends Glorious Stakes title in style
The William Haggas-trained eight-year-old claimed the fifth of his seven Group Three victories to date in this race 12 months ago before going on to land the Geoffrey Freer at Newbury in August and the Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown on his first start of this season in April. Despite coming up short in two subsequent outings, most recently finishing seventh in the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot, Al Aasy was a 13-8 favourite on his return to the Sussex Downs and after being settled at the rear of the five-strong field for much of the way, he picked up well when asked to go about his business by Jim Crowley to run down his rivals and pull three lengths clear of Meydaan at the line. Haggas told Racing TV: 'He's terrific, isn't he? He's a fabulous horse. He's pretty reliable in this grade when things set up like that. 'They didn't go very fast today and he usually likes a stronger pace and they slow down a bit, but they picked up well up the straight and he still found a gear. He actually ran on strongly today as usually he wins by half a length or a neck. 'He's been called some names in the past and I wish people would respect him for what he is. He's a very talented horse, he just needs to be ridden like that – you need to wait and wait and wait. 'I haven't put him a Group One race and we think at eight years old this is probably his level, Listed and Group Three races and maybe the odd Group Two are fine for him. He's a useful horse. 'He's a very strong traveller, so you can imagine at home when we don't get them off the bridle he looks like Nijinsky every time! He catches the eye every morning, so he's been a joy for us.'
