iShares® iBonds® ETF Nears Final Distribution Date

Business Wirea day ago
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BlackRock announced today the planned termination of the iShares iBonds Oct 2025 Term TIPS ETF which includes the following timelines for trading, net-asset value (NAV) calculation and expected liquidation:
iBonds ETFs are designed to cease trading and mature during a specific maturity window like an individual bond. Leading up to the ETF's final distribution date, the bonds held by the iBonds ETF mature, and the ETF transitions into short-term instruments and cash. Shareholders will receive their proceeds from the liquidation on or around the listed liquidation date, based on their brokerage's processes.
iBonds ETFs across treasuries, municipal bonds, and both investment-grade and high-yield corporate credit remain available to investors. iShares iBonds ETFs can help market participants build bond ladders and enhance diversification in their portfolios.

Carefully consider the Funds' investment objectives, risk factors, and charges and expenses before investing. This and other information can be found in the Funds' prospectuses or, if available, the summary prospectuses, which may be obtained by visiting the iShares Fund and BlackRock Fund prospectus pages. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.
Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal.
Fixed income risks include interest-rate and credit risk. Typically, when interest rates rise, there is a corresponding decline in the value of debt securities. Credit risk refers to the possibility that the debt issuer will not be able to make principal and interest payments.
TIPS can provide investors a hedge against inflation, as the inflation adjustment feature helps preserve the purchasing power of the investment. Because of this inflation adjustment feature, inflation protected bonds typically have lower yields than conventional fixed rate bonds and will likely decline in price during periods of deflation, which could result in losses. Government backing applies only to government issued securities, and does not apply to the funds.
An investment in the Fund is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency and its return and yield will fluctuate with market conditions.
The iShares® iBonds® ETFs ('Funds') will terminate on or about October or December 15 of the year in each Fund's name. An investment in the Fund(s) is not guaranteed, and an investor may experience losses, including near or at the termination date. Unlike a direct investment in a bond that has a level coupon payment and a fixed payment at maturity, the Fund(s) will make distributions of income that vary over time. In the final months of each Fund's operation, as the bonds it holds mature, its portfolio will transition to cash and cash-like instruments. As a result, its yield will tend to move toward prevailing money market rates, and may be lower than the yields of the bonds previously held by the Fund and lower than prevailing yields in the bond market. As the Fund approaches its termination date, its holdings of money market or similar funds may increase, causing the Fund to incur the fees and expenses of these funds.
Following the Fund's termination date, the Fund will distribute substantially all of its net assets, after deduction of any liabilities, to then-current investors without further notice and will no longer be listed or traded. The Funds' distributions and liquidation proceeds are not predictable at the time of investment and the Funds do not seek to return any predetermined amount.
The rate of Fund distribution payments may adversely affect the tax characterization of an investor's returns from an investment in the Fund relative to a direct investment in bonds. If the amount an investor receives as liquidation proceeds upon the Fund's termination is higher or lower than the investor's cost basis, the investor may experience a gain or loss for tax purposes.
Buying and selling shares of ETFs may result in brokerage commissions.
Diversification and asset allocation may not protect against market risk or loss of principal.

This Is the 'Best Investment Environment Ever', Says BlackRock's CIO of Global Fixed Income

Rick Rieder, BlackRock's chief investment officer of global fixed income, said earlier this week the current backdrop represents the 'best investment environment ever,' citing unusually favorable dynamics in both equity and bond markets. Speaking on CNBC, Rieder described 'extraordinary' technical conditions in equities, with trillions of dollars still parked in money market funds and robust corporate buybacks shrinking available supply. While valuations for the market's largest technology names remain elevated, he noted that earnings growth outside Tesla helped justify the multiples. 'MAG-7 year-on-year growth is like 54%,' he said, adding that the pace makes the sector difficult to ignore. On the bond side, Rieder highlighted the appeal of income. Investors can still build portfolios yielding between 6.5% and 7%, a level he described as highly attractive in a world where inflation has drifted below 3% on a core basis. He argued that while the Federal Reserve has room to cut rates — potentially starting as soon as September — current yields already offer investors solid returns. 'Crazy low' volatility Rieder also emphasized today's unusually subdued volatility. He described trading equity volatility, or 'vol,' at levels near 9.5 to 10, which he called 'crazy low.' Low volatility, he said, makes hedging against downside risk relatively cheap, giving investors what he called an 'escape hatch' if conditions sour. 'You don't actually have to take the downside risk,' Rieder said. Still, Rieder cautioned that complacency is his biggest concern. With insurance in markets so inexpensive, he sees signs investors may be underestimating risks, particularly in credit spreads and other corners of fixed income. Fed's interest rate On monetary policy, Rieder argued the Fed's rate hikes have done little to suppress inflation, given that large corporations rely less on borrowing to finance investment. The real drag, he said, has been on housing activity and lower-income households that depend more heavily on credit. Keeping rates too high, he warned, risks imposing excessive costs on the government and households without meaningful disinflation gains. He believes the central bank could lower the funds rate by as much as 100 basis points over the coming year, a move he sees as unlikely to rekindle inflation given low structural volatility and rising productivity from advances in data, hyperscale computing and even space-related technologies. 'There's something spectacular happening around productivity,' he said, calling it a once-in-a-generation dynamic. For crypto investors, Rieder's comments reinforce a broader narrative: an environment with falling rates, ample liquidity, and low volatility could support renewed appetite for risk assets beyond equities. If his call proves correct, the same technical tailwinds driving stocks higher could spill into digital assets that thrive on excess cash and investor risk-taking. 擷取數據時發生錯誤 登入存取你的投資組合 擷取數據時發生錯誤 擷取數據時發生錯誤 擷取數據時發生錯誤 擷取數據時發生錯誤

M&A News: BlackRock Stock (BLK) Strengthens Despite $23B Panama Ports Deal Slipping to 2026

Shares in U.S. asset manager BlackRock (BLK) were higher today despite its $22.8 billion Panama Ports deal with CK Hutchison (CKHUF) being delayed until 2026. 'The deal is taking much longer than we had expected when we announced in March, but frankly that's not particularly troublesome,' CK group managing director and finance director Frank Sixt said. 'There is a reasonable chance that discussions will lead to a deal that is good for all of the parties and that will be capable of being approved by all the relevant authorities.' Complex Deal He added: 'With a deal of this size and complexity, closing… would not in any case occur this year, even if binding arrangements are agreed this year.' According to recent reports China's state-owned shipping giant Cosco is aiming to secure at least a 20%-30% stake in the proposed deal alongside BlackRock and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). The proposed deal includes two ports at either end of the Panama Canal and more than 40 others around the world. BlackRock and MSC, which reached a preliminary agreement to buy the ports from Hong Kong conglomerate CK back in March, are reportedly open to Cosco taking a stake. Last month, CKH had announced that the exclusive negotiation period with the consortium led by BlackRock and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) had expired, and it intended to invite major strategic investors from mainland China to join as key members of the consortium. Chinese officials have told BlackRock, MSC and Hutchison that if Cosco is left out of the deal, Beijing would take steps to block Hutchison's proposed sale. This won't be too much of a surprise for BlackRock given that legal and regulatory hurdles are a key risk for the group – see above. Trump Concern A delay to the deal could be bad news for President Trump who has put a lot of political capital into ensuring that U.S. dominance over the Panama Canal is reasserted. There is also the current trade and tariff spat between the U.S. and China, as well as wider geopolitical concerns. The Chinese government has also repeatedly expressed concerns about the deal since March. This has included slamming CK for betraying the Chinese people and being 'spineless.' It was concerned, and presumably still is, that the deal could hit China's shipping and trade interests. Is BLK a Good Stock to Buy Now? £20k to invest? Consider these passive income stocks to target £2k a year

The first rule of income investing is to remember that dividends from stocks are never guaranteed. For this reason, it's important to build a diversified portfolio that can weather individual shocks and still pay a healthy passive income now and over the long term. Here's an example of what a well-diversified portfolio might look like: Dividend stock Forward dividend yield Global X Nasdaq 100 Covered Call ETF 11% Chelverton UK Dividend Trust 9.4% iShares World Equity High Income ETF (LSE:WINC) 9.7% In total, these investment trusts and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) provide exposure to more than 450 different companies. These span a multitude of regions and sectors, reducing concentration risk and helping to provide a more stable return across the economic cycle. What's more, they have enormous dividend yields, as the table shows. To give you an example of the passive income they can throw off, a £20,000 lump sum invested across them could provide a £2,000 dividend income this year alone. I'm also confident they can grow dividends over time. Here's why I think they're worth considering today. Top fund Tech stocks aren't famed for their enormous dividend potential. But the Global X Nasdaq 100 Covered Call ETF works by purchasing Nasdaq shares and selling covered calls on them, redistributing the income to the fund's shareholders. This fund provides an added bonus to its holders: it pays monthly distributions, giving investors access to their cash earlier. It can thus be a useful tool for accelerating compounding by shortening intervals between reinvestments. Monthly distributions here have been paid for the last 11 years. One downside is that there's limited price appreciation potential, because any price growth above strike prices is forfeited. This can put it at a disadvantage to standard Nasdaq tracker funds. But for dividend hunters, this may be a price worth paying. Dividend trust As its name implies, the Chelverton UK Dividend Trust is focused on generating income from British equities. This geographical strategy carries greater concentration risk than more global funds. But given the London stock market's strong dividend culture, it also has its advantages. It's also important to note that, on balance, this trust is still well diversified despite its UK focus. It invests in a range of industries like financial services, consumer goods, energy, and mining. Furthermore, its capital is evenly distributed, further reducing the threat of individual shocks on overall returns. Hargreaves Services is currently its single largest holding, at 3.5%. Global leader To my mind, the iShares World Equity High Income fund offers a brilliant blend of safety and exciting income potential. Unlike the other high-yield trusts and ETFs I've described, its holdings aren't confined to specific territories. In total, it holds shares in roughly 300 global equities spanning financial services, information technology, telecoms, healthcare, and consumer goods. This broad range protects investors from nasty localised shocks. But this is not all — its two largest single holdings are cash and US Treasuries, accounting for 6.3% and 5.7% of the portfolio respectively. This provides an added layer of robustness. The lion's share of its capital is stashed in the equity market, though. And so it is still highly exposed to stock market movements. But given the long-term resilience of global shares, I believe it's a top dividend stock to consider. The post £20k to invest?
