
How Dubai Police brought home runaway teen girl
In compassionate move highlighting its community policing values, Dubai Police's Naif Police Station successfully mediated the family dispute between the teenage girl and her parents.
Brigadier Omar Ashour, Acting Director of Naif Police Station, explained that the parents approached the station seeking assistance in resolving the issue and persuading their daughter to return home. The Victim Support Unit swiftly stepped in, arranging a reconciliation session after carefully listening to both sides.
Renewed understanding
Thanks to Sergeant Zahra Abdul Hamid Ishaq and Corporal Hassan Ali Alblooshi's efforts, the session resulted in a peaceful resolution and a renewed understanding between the teenager and her parents.
Brigadier Ashour praised the team's dedication and highlighted the human-centred nature of the Victim Support Programme, which is implemented by Dubai Police's General Department of Criminal Investigation.
'The initiative focuses on supporting victims of criminal and traffic incidents by offering legal advice, emotional support, and mediation when needed,' he said.
Brigadier Ashour emphasised that the programme aims to strengthen community trust, prevent legal escalation of personal disputes, and provide high-quality support to victims in accordance with legal procedures.

Dubai Police arrest 3 women practising medicine without licence
The Economic Crimes Combating Department at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation of Dubai Police, in collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), arrested three European women for practising medicine and performing plastic surgeries without a licence in an apartment, in violation of the laws of the UAE. Dubai Police explained that they received information about suspicious activity in a residential apartment where unlicensed medical and cosmetic services were being offered. After verifying the information, a well-planned trap was set, and the apartment was raided. Three women were arrested, along with unlicensed medical tools, devices, and quantities of medications. The women were reportedly referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action. The police added that the suspects were conducting medical and plastic surgeries in unlicensed places, posing a significant risk to the health and safety of clients. Dubai Police affirmed their ongoing efforts to combat illegal medical practices and protect the health and safety of the community. They urged the public to seek services only from licensed healthcare facilities in the UAE, verify the qualifications and expertise of medical and service providers, and avoid falling for misleading offers that could endanger their lives. The police called on the public to immediately report any similar activities through the 'Police Eye' service or the 901 call centre, stressing their continued efforts to combat all forms of crime and enhance security and safety in the emirate.
