Marking 25th anniversary, BoA returns with 'Crazier'
Reflecting on her decadeslong musical journey, K-pop trailblazer BoA is marking her 25th debut anniversary with the release of her 11th LP "Crazier" on Monday.
From upbeat dance tracks to touching ballads, the 11-track multigenre album brims with the singer-songwriter's musical evolution, which will resonate with her fandom, "Jumping BoA."
The album also includes songs written and composed by the artist, including the title track and B-sides "Takes Two" and "How Could."
The final song of the album, "Clockwise," is a heartfelt tribute to her fans for their long-standing connection and support over the past 25 years.
"I don't feel much different just because this year is my 25th anniversary, but I sometimes realize how much time has passed," the singer said in a press release.
"The new album is my first full-length album in five years since 'Better.' I wanted to show sides of myself and my musical taste that I haven't had the chance to share with my fans who have supported me and stayed with me through thick and thin," she said.
BoA debuted Aug. 25, 2000, at the age of 14, with the album "ID; Peace B." She later expanded into the Japanese market and became a pioneering K-pop artist across Asia.

In the video, the band's manager is heard shouting "Move out of the way," which is then followed by a loud thud, suggesting that someone may have been pushed or the camera was struck. While some view the security measures for celebrities as excessive, airport security escorts for idols are necessary due to safety concerns, according to industry insiders. "There is no strict rule requiring idols to have security at airports, but it is typically arranged for safety reasons. Also, in some countries, the crowd cannot be controlled, which makes bodyguards even more necessary," an official at an entertainment company, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Korea Herald. "While much of the footage shows the bodyguard's aggression, bodyguards typically try to handle the situation calmly and gently, but fans sometimes get pushed or fall in the process. Although the bodyguards' actions in these moments cannot be fully excused, they respond this way because the situation is urgent and demands quick decisions to protect the idol, as well as maintain order," the official explained. Recently, V of BTS also asked fans to be "mindful of public space" during a Weverse livestream, noting that airports are "not private venues, but shared spaces for everyone." "I hope people can maintain order instead of causing chaos," the singer said, as he referenced the "Purple Line," a safety campaign launched by BTS' fandom, Army, at airports in 2018. At the time, some 20 fans gathered at Los Angeles International Airport holding purple ribbons — the group's official color — and formed orderly lines to help ensure the bandmates' safe arrival and departure. Amid growing calls to address the chaos caused by celebrity arrivals and departures, an official at Incheon Airport described the authorities' difficulties. "While restricting fans from crowding arrival and departure zones would be ideal, such measures are hard to implement effectively in real-world airport settings and require coordination with multiple departments within the airport," the official told The Korea Herald. 'Kpopped' brings together K-pop artists, pop icons
Psy, Megan Thee Stallion, Spice Girls, Kesha and others pair up for joint performances in the new Apple TV+ series K-pop and pop will be teaming up in the new cross-cultural music competition series heading to Apple TV+ at the end of this month. "Kpopped" pairs global pop icons with K-pop acts, tasking them with delivering a collaborative performance that fuses their distinct musical styles. Performances take place before a live audience in Seoul, who will vote to select the episode's winning pair. According to Apple TV+, each of the series' eight episodes will wrap up with a finale performed by a K-pop group. The K-pop lineup for the series includes Billie, Itzy, Kep1er, JO1, Ateez, StayC, Kiss of Life and Blackswan. Psy is also set to appear in the series, though Apple TV+ has not yet disclosed whether he will participate as a performer or an emcee. A range of chart-topping and legacy acts represent the pop side, including three-time Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion, Patti LaBelle, Spice Girls' Mel B and Emma Bunton, Vanilla Ice, Taylor Dayne, Kesha, Eve, J Balvin, Kylie Minogue, TLC, Boy George, Jess Glynne, Ava Max and Boyz II Men.
