
Laxman Uttekar to direct new film for Bhushan Kumar after Shraddha Kapoor's period musical
Following the remarkable success of 'Chhaava' featuring Vicky Kaushal, director Laxman Uttekar is gearing up for his next venture, a period musical headlined by
Shraddha Kapoor
. The film, produced by
Dinesh Vijan
, is currently in the early stages of production, with plans to start filming in November 2025.
The shoot is expected to span six months, aiming for a release sometime in the latter half of 2026. Furthermore, it has been revealed that after completing six films with Maddock, Uttekar is set to join forces with a different producer for this project.
A successful collaboration with Dinesh Vijan continues
According to Pinkvilla, Laxman Uttekar has a winning combo with Dinesh Vijan, having directed 5 back-to-back successful films.
The sixth one is in the pipeline, as Laxman is exploring a one-of-its-kind period musical set on the life of a dancer. Laxman, and Dinesh Vijan have roped in Shraddha Kapoor for the lead role. The actress has already started to train in learning classical forms of dance.
