Netflix comedy from Dexter's Laboratory creator slammed as 'incredibly disgusting' by viewers

Viewers have reported switching it off just minutes in
Netflix viewers have been switching off a brand new comedy film on the platform within minutes, branding it "insufferable" and "incredibly disgusting."

Launched on the streaming service today (August 13), Fixed centres on a dog called Bull (voiced by Adam Devine) who learns he's about to be castrated and embarks on one final adventure with his mates.

He also plans to woo the pedigree pooch he fancies next door, Honey (Kathryn Hahn), before going under the knife.

The animated comedy was crafted by Genndy Tartakovsky, a five-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker behind Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack, reports the Mirror.
Netflix's synopsis states: " From visionary director Genndy Tartakovsky comes Fixed, an adult animated comedy about Bull, an average, all-around good dog who discovers he's going to be neutered in the morning!
"As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull realizes he needs one last adventure with his pack of best friends as these are the last 24 hours with his balls! What could go wrong...?"
The stellar cast also features Idris Elba as Rocco, Fred Armisen as Fetch and Bobby Moynihan as Lucky. Yet despite the celebrity talent involved, it has struggled to win over audiences from the get-go.
"Fixed genuinely is insufferable and I'm only like five minutes in," one viewer began, adding: "I genuinely hate this. This is just corny sex jokes. I don't wanna see an animated dog's b******* flap while he's humping a grandma's leg."

Another viewer abandoned the show after just the trailer, commenting: "It seemed incredibly disgusting (like worse than Big Mouth) just from the three second clip I watched while hovering over the title. Will absolutely not be investigating further," whilst a third disappointed Netflix subscriber added: "I still wanna know HOW were the voice actors talked into doing this."
Not every viewer reacted so strongly to the film though. Defending the production, one supporter commented: "Just watched it. It's passable, wasn't as bad as the trailers made me think it would be but it's not a masterpiece by any means, great animation though."
Speaking to Netflix's Tudum, Tartakovsky revealed how the cast was assembled: "Some of the material is a bit raunchy so we had to find people that were receptive to our sense of humor, and boy, did we.
"I remember a moment where Kathryn Hahn read the script and called us - she wanted her character to be as raunchy as the other guys. It was a great note. We then rewrote her character to be reflective of that idea and she absolutely killed it."

Adam Collard's baby bombshell with fiancée Laura Woods as they face huge decision

EXCLUSIVE: Adam Collard has revealed whether he and fiancée Laura Woods are having more children, as he admits the pair have a decision to make when it comes to the future of their family. Adam Collard has revealed he and Laura Woods are already planning baby number two, but have a big decision to make on whether a third little one will be on the cards. ‌ "I'm one of two and Laura's one of three, so we're arguing over whether we want two or three kids. Hopefully the next one's a girl and we can stop there," Adam - who already shares eight-month-old son with the sports presenter - tells Mirror. "We've got her family staying right now and there's a lot of kids around the house, so I told her this is what it'll be like if we have three," laughs Adam. ‌ Whatever number the decide on, Adam says Laura is a natural when it comes to parenthood: "She was born to be a mum. Laura fell pregnant quite early on in our relationship and it feels like she was meant for it in every sense. I started my own businesses at 21 and went on Love Island at 22, but it always felt like I was working hard, going on holidays, doing all these material things, with no one to share it with." Adam's comments come after Andy Carroll 'splits from Lou Teasdale due to her demands' weeks after public row. ‌ READ MORE: Cat Deeley found moving back to the UK 'really hard' before split from Patrick Kielty "Laura's the same, we now realise why we work hard. We've just bought another house and it's probably going to be the home where Leo grows up – we now realise what the point is." Becoming a parent is no easy feat though, something Adam has learned along the way. "[Leo] is a handful! He's 100 miles an hour, but so funny and everything we've ever wanted. Being a dad is great, but it's challenging, too, I'd never sugar coat that. "But it's put everything into perspective. I've got a purpose now, whereas for years I felt like I was in limbo. I've not got a lot of family members that I'm close to – unlike Laura. Both my mum and dad have been missing at different stages of my life. But I want to compensate for that and be the best I can possibly be for Leo." On the topic of being the best he possibly can be, Adam is currently one of the celebs battling it out on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and has been one of this series' strongest contenders. "[Celeb SAS] was amazing, even better than I expected. I like how it's not 'produced', when we're in there, it doesn't feel like a TV show. It wasn't easy, though. ‌ "The final few days were tough – interrogation alone was harder than the full week before, they peel the layers off. I have a reputation for physical fitness, but I wanted to put myself in that situation to test myself mentally," he said of doing the show. But as well as testing himself, Adam also used the show to get out of a difficult place he was in, as the former Love Island star explains: "I've spoken about my addiction to painkillers, which saw my mental health dip. I nearly pulled out of SAS because I didn't feel my strongest, mentally. But, I spoke with Laura and realised that when anything bad happens, the best thing is to have something to focus on. "People will see an emotional side of me, which they'll be surprised about because it's not the hard exterior I had the last seven years I've been on TV. The show was a bit of a saving grace."

I had a luxe London trip on discount codes — with £30 theatre and £26 Hawksmoor

London rightly has a reputation as one of the most expensive cities in the world. That's fair enough, particularly when it comes to rent and mortgages. And yes, going out can also make a serious dent to your bank balance. But if you're a money saver, I think living or visiting the capital offers far more potential to cut other costs than anywhere else in the UK. And that doesn't require scrimping or thifting, nor does it mean missing out on some of the nicer things. Don't believe me? Here are some highlights from a few days I've just spent in London. With so many restaurants, there are also many ways to get really good food for less. One I took advantage of was a special menu at steak mini-chain Hawksmoor available at lunch, pre and post-theatre. The Slice is your weekly guide to what's happening in London, so if you're looking for restaurant reviews, drinks deals or just a great new exhibition to visit on a rainy Saturday in the capital, we've got you covered. Click here for this week's edit of the best things to do in town. The Slice newsletter also a brand new look! We'll still be in your inbox every week, bringing you all the very best things to eat, drink and do in the capital. So if you want get the next edition before anyone else, sign up here! If you want to do it all on the cheap, you can also find our latest batch of exclusive hand-picked offers in partnership with Time Out here. The hake and sweet potato main was delicious and sizeable and a happy hour glass of rose hit the spot. Stacking an American Express 10% cashback offer on top of this special menu, I paid just £26 including service. An hour later and the same meal would have set me back £42. Adding extra courses included in the offer would have increased the saving even more, but there wasn't any point spending more when I was full enough. And good news for non-Londoners, it also has locations with the same offer in Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh. It's no wonder there are frequent op-eds decrying how expensive West End theatre tickets are. The seat I had for matinee performance of the Broadway transfer of the Tony-winning Stereophonic was listed at £150. The row in front was priced at a staggering £250. However, I paid just £30, saving £120. That was thanks to the 'Rush ticket' feature on the app TodayTix. It's effectively a lottery on the day of the performance to fill empty seats. There's no guarantee you'll get a ticket, or that you'll get one of the top priced seats, so I was lucky. And though I don't agree with some of the rave reviews, for £30 it was an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. I managed to see a decent comedy show for just a tenner thanks to Central Tickets. The rules of websites like this are I can't say what I saw, but my seat should have cost £47.90 if I'd gone direct to the box office. I love a good gig, and managed to see two performances on my trip. The biggest bargain was an in-store from all-girl punk group Panic Shack at Rough Trade East, just off Brick Lane. For £16.06 I not only got access to an intimate gig, but also a copy of their new CD. Dates for their tour later this year start at £20 before fees, so throw in the album on top and I think it was at least a 50% saving. This way to save isn't just limited to London, but I used a free ticket to finally see Danny Boyle's latest movie 28 Years Later at the Vue Leicester Square. More Trending There are a few ways I get these, from opening up a Club Lloyds current account to a perk from Vitality health insurance, but this one was actually a freebie given away by my energy provider Octopus earlier in the year. Since weekend showings are often more expensive than others, using this on a Saturday saved me £13.99. Finally, travel. Yep the tube and trains are pricey, especially compared to other metro systems in other countries. The daily cap on card payments will help people moving around a lot, but I managed to beat this on my first day – and that was by adding a Travelcard to my inbound rail ticket. This added £5.60 to my fare, versus a £8.90 limit on Zone 1-2 travel with my debit card. And I knocked another 10% off that thanks to an offer for train ticket seller LNER via my American Express card. Total saving:£203.81. Total spent: £77.10. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's awkward 'A-lister' move after surprise mix up

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were invited to a movie premiere in Jamaica, a seating mix-up led to a very awkward situation, which has now been decoded by a body language expert While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are used to receiving celebrity treatment, a seating mix up at a movie premiere prompted an awkward reaction from the Sussexes, with Harry's "lack of experience" at Hollywood events making for a cringeworthy moment - according to an expert. ‌ Back in January 2024, Harry and Meghan were invited to the premiere screening of the Bob Marley: One Love biopic, making a surprise appearance at the glitzy event at the Carib Theatre in Jamaica. ‌ After posing for photos on the red carpet, Harry and Meghan mingled with fans and dignitaries alike, including anti-monarchist Jamaican prime minister Andrew Holness, before making their way inside for the screening. It comes as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new Netflix deal could cause 'concern' for Royal Family. ‌ While the Sussexes made their way to the front row to sit with the other VIPs at the event, it appears they couldn't conceal their shock when they were asked to move a few rows back, leaving them seated in the third row. According to body language expert Judi James, it was Harry more than Meghan who was surprised at the request to sit further from the state. She told the Daily Mail: 'While [Meghan's] smile suggests her expression of utter graciousness was unflinching, Harry clearly hangs back, performing several gestures of reluctance, discomfort and even indecision.' Judi analysed the rest of Harry and Meghan's appearance at the event, noting that Meghan appeared to see it as a "full-blown Hollywood" event as they both pulled moves "A-list celebrity couples perform". She explained: "Meghan seemed to treat this red carpet appearance as a full-blown Hollywood one. She looked regal and gracious in her elegant ballgown and pulled the kind of moves A-list celebrity couples perform, like the romantic gesture of ownership as she places a hand on Harry's chest." ‌ Judi added: "Meghan was fully in charge of the steering on the night, gently nudging Harry around and at one point pulling his hand out of his trouser pocket so that she could hold hands with him to walk into the venue.' 'Harry was showing body language signs of anxiety as they posed for their red carpet photos, but these increased and peaked once the couple were inside the venue and being ushered to their seats.' ‌ Judi further explained Harry's discomfort at the event as she said: 'For Harry, public functions in the Royal Family have always meant top billing, the best seats in the house and preferential treatment." 'But here there is a more unilateral look, where they were expected to take their own seats and maybe even buy their own popcorn. Harry's lack of experience in this kind of scenario seems to show through here.' According to Ms James, this is not the first time that the couple have appeared to view themselves as "A-listers", as she said at the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf in September 2023, the pair presented themselves as a "celebrity power couple" during a rock star welcome.
