Jaffer has had a successful relationship with Vidarbha in the past. Towards the end of his career, he featured for the Nagpur-based side as a 'Pro' and played a key role in their back-to-back Ranji Trophy and Irani Cup triumphs in 2017-18 & 2018-19. Coal India Open: Angad Cheema takes pole position in round three

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], August 8 (ANI): Angad Cheema (69-67-69) of Chandigarh returned a steady three-under 69 to move into the lead in round three of the Coal India Open being played at the Kensville Golf and Country Club in Ahmedabad. Angad's total score read 11-under Malik (69-65-72) of Noida carded an even-par 72 in the penultimate round to occupy second position at a total of 10-under Kochhar (69-70-69), another Chandigarh golfer, signed for a 69 to be placed third on Udayan Mane who began the week with a 78 in round one, fired a 66 for the second straight day to make a brilliant comeback and huge strides on the leaderboard. He gained 11 spots on Thursday to be placed tied fourth at six-under 210 along with Delhi's Arjun Prasad (69).Delhi-based Rakshit Dahiya, the only amateur to make the cut, ended the day in 10th position at two-under 214 following a round of Varun Parikh came up with a 72 to be tied 13th at even-par Cheema, who was overnight second, two shots off the lead, made a rock-solid start, making pars all through the front nine. The 35-year-old Cheema, the winner of the last PGTI event in April this year, began the back-nine with a bogey on the 10th but came roaring back with four birdies thereafter including three from a range of 10 to 15 said, 'I played a steady round today, hitting all greens in regulation. My putter got hot on the back-nine that helped me sink a lot of long putts. That was the big difference between my front-nine and back-nine.'Playing the qualifying event of The Open in the UK this summer, was a memorable experience and gave me great international exposure as I competed in a strong field at a links course in conditions totally different from what we're used to here in India. I would say it benefitted my game a lot. Taking a break from golf during the off-season has also helped me come back fresh and eager to perform well, " added Malik, the overnight leader by two shots, made three birdies and three bogeys on Thursday to drop down to second position. Malik is still within touching distance of the lead, being just one shot back. (ANI)

IPL Trade Rumours: Pundit suggests CSK sign Sanju Samson as MS Dhoni replacement by releasing R Ashwin

, the captain of , has formally expressed his desire to leave the franchise after the mixed 2025 IPL season, potentially ending his near-decade-long association with the team. Reports indicate he has informed the Jaipur-based franchise about his decision to explore other opportunities ahead of the mega auction. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! "The first name that comes to my mind is not CSK. KKR should be the most desperate team," Chopra said on his YouTube channel. "KKR don't have an Indian wicketkeeper-batter, and that just ties their hands behind their back. Secondly, what's wrong if you get a captain? I am not denying that has captained well and has scored runs as well." Chopra highlighted concerns about Rahane's batting limitations and age as factors for KKR to consider Samson, despite the team's success under Shreyas Iyer in 2024. "Ajinkya Rahane as a batter – either he opens or else the batting order has been a bit of a problem," Chopra added. "They have a player they can release as well. If they wish, they can release Venkatesh Iyer, free up nearly Rs 24 crore, and then they can actually make a difference." At the same time, Chopra admitted that CSK would also be keen on bringing in Samson as a long-term successor to MS Dhoni. "They could look at a possible trade, maybe send R Ashwin back to Rajasthan, who need a spinner. He's played there before and could fill a gap. So that's not out of the question either," he said. Samson, now 30, started his IPL career with KKR in 2012 before joining Rajasthan Royals, where he eventually became captain. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Recent changes in Rajasthan Royals' squad strategy, including the release of and focus on young domestic talents like and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, may have influenced Samson's decision to seek opportunities elsewhere. Poll Which team would be the best fit for Sanju Samson next? Kolkata Knight Riders Chennai Super Kings Delhi Capitals Other "Why would Sanju Samson want to leave? It's interesting because when the last mega auction happened, they let Jos Buttler go, and I felt they let Jos Buttler go because Yashasvi had come and Sanju wanted to open, and Sanju and Rajasthan Royals were really, really thick," Chopra noted. "I felt there would have been a massive input from Sanju in the players they retained or released. However, now it seems it might not have been there. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has come, so two openers are already ready, and you also want to bat Dhruv Jurel up the order. So Sanju wishes to leave. If he is thinking like that, it's possible. These are conjectures. I don't know what's in his and Rajasthan's minds." The team's shift towards promoting young domestic stars and changes in batting order strategies appear to have created uncertainty about Samson's role within the franchise.

His 516 runs and 7 wickets made him the second-highest wicket-taking spinner in the series. 'Is anything required to be said? The man has shown you what he can do. I think outstanding. Shubman Gill has scored 754 runs, and you are saying that he has reached close to the best. He (Ravindra Jadeja) has scored nearly 550 runs,' Ajay said on Sony Sports. 'He has been more consistent than even Shubman Gill. He had four innings that didn't end, because the batting ended from the other end. In the entire series, there were only two innings where he got out early,' he added. 'If we try to remember his moments, it started with Lord's, where you couldn't win for sure, but he and (Mohammed) Siraj fought there. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Seniors Born 1939-1969 Receive 11 Benefits This Month If They Ask Super Saving Online Undo A change was seen there.
