CAA issues weather alert for several parts of Oman till August 22
According to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, the weather system will cause continuous cloud advection, with chances of isolated rain and occasional thunderstorms. The affected areas include Al Wusta, Dhofar, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, and parts of Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah. The rainfall is expected to be more intense over Al Wusta and Dhofar.

Rainfall: Expected rainfall is between 10-40 mm, which may lead to flash floods in some wadis.
Winds: Fresh downdraft winds with speeds ranging from 20-45 knots (37-83 km/h) are expected, which could cause unstable objects to move.
Visibility: Poor horizontal visibility is anticipated during thunderstorms and due to rising dust caused by the winds.
Sea State: The sea along the Arabian Sea coasts is expected to be rough, with waves reaching a maximum height of 4 meters.
The CAA has advised the public to take precautions during rainfall and flash floods. It also urged those planning to sail to check visibility and sea conditions and to follow the official weather bulletins and reports.

UAE: Thunderstorms, rain expected in some parts over next two days, says NCM
The UAE will experience thunderstorms and rain in some parts over the coming two days, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said on Tuesday. This is due to the fact that the region will be affected by the extension of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and its movement from the south towards the country, along with the advancement of surface and upper-level low-pressure systems from the south. According to NCM, moist air masses are flowing from the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman towards the country. Take a look at the following map shared by the met authority: Daytime temperatures will rise, and due to the presence of the eastern mountains, convective clouds are expected to form over scattered areas, the centre added. From Wednesday to Thursday, some eastern and southern regions will be affected, extending into some internal areas. Convective clouds are also expected, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity, with lightning and thunder at times. Winds will be south-easterly to north-easterly, moderate in speed, becoming fresh to strong at times with convective clouds, raising dust and sand and reducing horizontal visibility. Sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
