Sophie Turner fires back at social media critic who said she's 'forgotten' about children
Sophie Turner isn't taking orders from the mommy-shaming police. The British actress, who shares daughters Willa and Delphine with ex-husband Joe Jonas, defended her parenting on social media after an Instagram user criticized her Aug. 4 post for not featuring her children, who are 5 and 3, respectively. The lighthearted post featured several clips of Turner, 29, and friend Ellie Wasserberg attending a concert from rock band Oasis, which kicked off its highly anticipated comeback tour in July. For her concert attire, the "Game of Thrones" alum was seen decked out in tour merch that included a baby blue Oasis band tee and beige bucket hat. "Bucket hats & beers…. That'll do me," Turner captioned the post. A post shared by S O P H I E T U R N E R (@sophiet) However, one fan was not amused by Turner's non-parenting fun. User @elizabethwakes96 wrote: "I think she has forgotten that she has two kids." Turner and Jonas, 35, split in September 2023 after the Jonas Brothers singer filed to dissolve their marriage, claiming that the couple's relationship had become "irretrievably broken." Amid their divorce, Turner sued Jonas for allegedly withholding their children's passports and refusing to allow them to return to England (lawyers for both Jonas and Turner later requested that a judge dismiss the federal lawsuit, effectively terminating Turner's case). Turner, who has been open about the emotional difficulties of coparenting, responded to the criticism in a fiery Aug. 7 comment. "Ah I'm so sorry, sometimes I forget some people can't think for themselves," wrote Turner in a mocking tone. "So…. Get this….There's this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day." Sophie Turner fans show support amid parenting critique In an October 2024 interview with Harper's Bazaar U.K., Turner reflected on the isolation of coparenting, describing the periods without her children as "absolute agony." "I want them to see me having a social life and enjoying work and thriving in my career and relationships. I want them to see a hard-working mum," Turner said. "I'll come back and say, 'This is why Mummy was away — it's because she's doing this for you, so Father Christmas can come with a big bundle of presents.'" Despite the initial flak Turner received for her concert post, many users came to the actress's defense in the comments section. "Is it that incomprehensible to you that her children might have other trusted caregivers aside from her? The dad perhaps?" @laura_kai_02 wrote. "Is it that strange to you that a dad look after his own children every now and again?" "God forbid a mother has FUN," @floweredx commented. "Just because you are a parent doesn't me you don't exist as a person," @emmiejack0810 wrote. "You are still you, and you still need you time. Rock on girl!!!!!" Cracker Barrel fans have mixed feelings about restaurant chain's redesign
Cracker Barrel's new redesign has become the latest viral topic of discussion on social media among fans of the restaurant chain. In an effort to modernize Cracker Barrel, the chain has overhauled its classic Southern country store aesthetic, replacing it with a more contemporary country theme. Photos and videos of some of the locations that have already undergone decor transformations have amassed hundreds of thousands of views, with patrons flooding comment sections with mixed opinions on the new look. The restaurant first announced the redesign on Instagram last August, revealing a brighter, more open concept with new seating, lighting, and bookcases, while preserving signature items like oversized stone fireplaces and mounted taxidermy deer heads. "New look, same Cracker Barrel! We can't wait for you to visit," the company wrote in the caption at the time. In the post's comment section, fans appeared to be divided, with some praising the redesign as "fresh and clean" and "modern yet charming" and others criticizing it as a "downgrade," some reminiscing about the previous "eclectic" look. While it's not uncommon for restaurant chains to update the look and feel of their establishments, some longtime Cracker Barrel fans seem to think the new elements are devoid of the restaurant's original ethos. In the comments of a Cracker Barrel Instagram post this week, which featured a video set against the backdrop of a newly redesigned location, one user wrote, "Can we please go back to the original look? The nostalgia is gone 🥺 Surely there is another approach to bringing in more customers." Another person wrote, "Absolutely hate the renovations. Please do not take away the character that makes it so special and cozy. I don't want another bland box store type restaurant." Not everyone is upset about the new aesthetic. In the comments of a Cracker Barrel Instagram post last month, one person wrote of the redesign, "I love it! A simple 'brightening' along the walls. Love the food, friendly staff and charming store. Please never change the nostalgic gifts in your store." A representative for Cracker Barrel told ABC News in a statement this week, "We are very pleased with the trajectory of our remodeled stores. Feedback from both guests and team members has been overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic about the refreshed dining and shopping experience. All of the elements of our remodels were informed by direct input from our guests and team members alike -- these changes are for them." They added that "as with any change, we recognize that there may be a vocal minority who feel differently. However, the strong performance of these locations affirms that we are moving in the right direction." "We hope people who haven't yet visited a remodeled store will visit us and experience the country hospitality proudly on display at every table and in every dish," they said. Earlier this spring, Cracker Barrel said it aimed to finish the redesign on 25 to 30 restaurants out of approximately 660 total.

Tina Knowles Effortlessy Ethers Beyoncé Haters With Throwback Video—‘She Chose To Rely On Her Talent'
When it comes to Ms. Tina Knowles, she does not play about her family, and her recent Instagram post is making fans give her a round of applause. 'If she has helped you stay relevant or to get your name in the press . I'm very happy she could help you. You're welcome!' wrote Mama Tina. Source: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic / Getty Alongside a TikTok video compilation featuring throwback videos of Beyoncé, the family matriarch set the record straight on her daughter not building her career on the backs of others and being far from a hater. The protective matriarch let people know that she sees the shade directed towards her superstar seed and is not above clocking it. 'As a Kid with big dreams , She made a commitment to work hard! Polish her craft,, take vocal lessons, dance lessons, sacrifice, focus , train, and mind her own damn business and does not mess with anybody. She sticks close to her family. She never gossiped or put anybody else down, to make herself feel better,' Mama Tina wrote. 'She never wasted her time on being jealous, she was taught very early on that her time and energy could be better used to focus on herself , to practice and perfect her craft. So she complimented others. and remained humble.' She continued, 'She was inspired and respectful and paid homage to those great artists that came before her. She gave back to her community. She has never used someone else's name to get publicity or attention for herself. No one lives rent free in her head because she is obsessed with them or jealous of them. She has also NEVER constantly , criticized others looks , talent, and character. Has never lied on , or started false rumors about others , has never started one sided beefs with anyone, to get her name on mainstream media outlets or be relevant or in the current news. She chose to rely on her talent and hard work and her own name. But if she has helped you stay relevant or to get your name in the press . I'm very happy she could help you. You're welcome! God bless You.' She finished her dragging by thanking those who've shown love to Bey and letting the hit dogs who may decide to holler know that they're waiting for their responses saying, 'But if the shoe fits, I'm sure we will be hearing from you.' After closing out yet another successful show as one of the style and design minds behind the iconic onstage looks of Mrs. Knowles-Carter, Mama Tina clearly had time to clock the scalding hot tea of Beyoncé haters worldwide. And ya know what? Go off, mama! It's not the first time that she's stepped into her Instagram captions to snatch a wig or two, as she's often come to the defense of her bonus daughter Kelly, son-in-law Jay-Z, and her baby girl Solange. She's also said that Beyoncé has got on her case in the past about addressing the haters, but it's clear that Mama Tina is not letting anything slide. Mama Tina's Instagram feed is not only a place for setting the record straight as she also often uses her platform to show love. During the Cowboy Carter tour she took time to post herself with several of the celebrities who came out to support Bey, including SWV. She revealed that the group were like surrogate big sisters to the original Destiny's Child members and that the sistas with voices took them under their wing and paved the way for them. So special!
