She went undefeated all year in the shot put, and the regular season was highlighted by an invite to the New Balance Nationals — her fourth invite to a national event.
At sectionals, she not only won the shot put, but the weight throw as well, both for the second year in a row.
She qualified for states in both events, finishing 17th in the weight throw and number six in the shot put.
She is a National Honor Society student who has been high honor roll with distinction every quarter of her high school career.
She plans on taking her talents to Division I Villanova next year.
Our large school girls field award winner is Jane Carey from Webster Thomas.
Our small school winner will be on this stage for the second time, but this is her first win for the indoor season.
This year, she won a weight throw sectional title for the second year in a row and a shot put title for the third year in a row.
Her shot put of 39 feet, three inches was the best at sectionals for any class.
She went four feet further in the state qualifier and finished first in that event against the best throwers from every class.
She capped her season at the state championship with a runner up in the shot put.
She is committed to Division I Western Michigan for next year.
The small school girls field elite award goes to Kaylee Oswald of Wellsville.

Talor Gooch trolls Indiana golf crowd with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander jersey

After completing one of the greatest individual seasons the NBA has ever seen, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has become a household name. He led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Larry O'Brien trophy in a year that saw him bring home every award imaginable, from MVP to NBA Finals MVP. Gilgeous-Alexander has become a global brand. The NBA has fully invested in him and the Thunder with a league-best 34 national television games for the 2025-26 regular season. In the latest example of why that's the right move, professionals from different sports have shouted him out. Professional golfer Talor Gooch took time out of his performance at an Indiana LIV Golf Tournament to wear Gilgeous-Alexander's 2024-25 City Edition jersey. The Oklahoma State alumn has made his Thunder fandom known for years. He grew up in Oklahoma. As you can imagine, the Indiana crowd booed him as he went on to par the hole. The Thunder crushed the Indiana Pacers fans' dreams when they won Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals to bring home the Larry O'Brien trophy. A few hours later, Gilgeous-Alexander shouted out Gooch for the troll job. It was a good move to go with his goal to upset the crowd. The professional golfer is known for leaning into the villain gimmick at times. This was the latest example of that.

Jeremiah McClellan details decision to commit to Oregon Ducks over Ohio State Buckeyes

There are a number of wide receivers on the Oregon Ducks roster who are looking to make a name for themselves and step into bigger roles on the offense this season. One of those players is redshirt freshman Jeremiah McClellan, who came to Eugene as a highly-rated 4-star recruit but was unable to crack the rotation in 2024. This year around, though, there are high expectations for McLellan, a 6-foot, 195 player who was rated as the No. 65 player in the 2024 recruiting class, as he contends for a start spot on the roster. While his focus may be on the upcoming season, we had the chance to talk to McClellan for the first time on Friday, offering us an opportunity to revisit National Signing Day in 2023, when he dramatically flipped his commitment from the Ohio State Buckeyes to the Ducks. Ultimately, why did he make the flip? 'It was basically just the connection that Coach Lanning and the staff have here," McClellan said. "I really just didn't feel like I had that connection at Ohio State. So the connection I have here, and the way Coach Lanning and Coach Terry, Coach Stein, and the guys that recruited me, it just felt like family here.' One of the guys who played a big role in McClellan coming to Oregon was wide receivers coach Junior Adams. Since then, Adams has moved on to take a job with the Dallas Cowboys, but in his stead, new WR coach Ross Douglas has done a great job of fostering that relationship and helping to build McClellan up. 'I hadn't really had any contact or anything like that with Coach Douglas, but getting to know him these last seven to eight months, I really love him as a coach," McClellan said. "He's a great coach.' There will be no shortage of competition for McClellan to carve out a portion of the target share this year, with guys like Dakorien Moore, Kyler Kasper, Justius Lowe, Malik Benson, Jurrion Dickey, and Gary Bryant Jr. all vying for touches as well. However, what we've seen early on from the redshirt sophomore has been impressive.
