A trio of exceptional vehicles from the prestigious Mile High Collection will be auctioned by Mecum Auctions in Houston on April 5, 2025, offering enthusiasts a rare opportunity to own notable muscle cars and an off-road titan.
Headlining the event is a fully restored 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback, one of just 499 models produced that year. Finished in striking Grabber Blue and matched with a pristine white interior, this iconic Mustang retains its original KK no. 2100 designation. Powering this Mustang is a coveted Boss 429 V-8 engine rated at 375 horsepower, linked to a close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission and a robust 3.91 Traction-Lok axle. Having covered just 427 miles since restoration, the vehicle retains its original factory specifications, including authentic markings and features such as power steering and front disc brakes.
Also crossing the block is a limited-edition 2024 Ford Shelby Super Snake coupe, one of only 250 examples made for that year. This modern performance icon, powered by an 830-horsepower, supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, shows a mere 277 miles on its odometer. The Shelby Super Snake also features advanced Brembo brakes, a Shelby extreme cooling system, and distinctive carbon fiber body enhancements.
Rounding out the notable offerings is a rugged 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha, equipped with a powerful 6.6-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel V-8 producing 395 horsepower. Paired with an HD Allison five-speed automatic transmission and advanced four-wheel-drive capabilities, the H1 Alpha includes premium amenities such as heated front seats, power windows, and cruise control, making it as luxurious as it is capable on tough terrain.

'Breakthrough EVs': Ford Stock (NYSE:F) Notches Up on New Battery Details

An electric vehicle (EV) is only as good as its battery, at the end of the day. Legacy automaker Ford (F) is likely aware of this, and has a novel new prospect coming as a result. The new line of EVs Ford has on tap will have an unexpected feature: a much smaller battery. But this is less a problem than you may think. In fact, Ford stock is up fractionally in Friday afternoon's trading. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! Unlock powerful investing tools, advanced data, and expert analyst insights to help you invest with confidence. So how does a smaller battery win Ford's new EV line any friends? As it turns out, the smaller battery will produce a car with a similar range as those cars with bigger batteries. The battery in question will offer 51 kilowatt-hours of power, which is only about half the size of the batteries currently found in the F-150 Lightning. But if Ford can make an EV that gets the necessary 250-300 mile per charge range that most electric vehicles consider 'table stakes' these days, Ford might be able to make lighter-weight vehicles that are also less expensive, a combination that is only too important in a time when everyone is still feeling the inflationary pinch that started a few years ago and has yet to relent. 'Liquid Carbon' Mustang Of course, Ford is not all about electric vehicles; EVs represent a small portion of Ford's total sales, as gas engines still rule the day. And new reports about the Ford Mustang GTD 'Liquid Carbon' are already delivering some impressive visuals of the kind that might make Porsche (POAHY) quake in fear. Indeed, the GTD Liquid Carbon does look a lot like a 911 GT3 RS. Moreover, it is also a car that has bypassed the paint process and instead stuck with bonded carbon fiber all around. It is not all about looks, though, as reports note the GTD Liquid Carbon features a 'Performance' pack as a standard edition, complete with a DRS flap on the rear win, dive planes, and a 'bigger splitter,' all of which adds up to Ford living up to its promise of ' no boring cars.' Is Ford Stock a Good Buy Right Now? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Hold consensus rating on F stock based on two Buys, nine Holds and three Sells assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 8.85% rally in its share price over the past year, the average F price target of $10.74 per share implies 6.24% downside risk.

Eccentrica Pacchetto Titano is a track-focused Lamborghini Diablo restomod

For 2025 Monterey Car Week, San Marino-based restomod firm Eccentrica is rolling out a more track-focused version of its Lamborghini Diablo upgrade package. Designed for "occasional track days," according to the company, the Titano Package sharpens the Diablo in a way Lamborghini never did when the V12 supercar was in production. The package includes suspension changes, a new ECU map, and subtle styling changes, all of which will be shown off on a new build called the Pacchetto Titano at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering. Eccentrica is also bringing two other cars-dubbed Rose Phoenix and Green Dragon-to demonstrate configuration possibilities. Those suspension changes consist of stiffer springs and a recalibration of the adaptive dampers for "heightened lateral responsiveness and precision feedback, without compromising comfort on spirited canyon roads," according to an Eccentrica press release. The other major mechanical change is an ECU remap that "enhances throttle response across the rev range," according to Eccentrica. The company didn't mention any changes in output, but for reference its standard tune for the Diablo's 5.7-liter V12 delivers 542 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. That power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. It wouldn't be a track-day special without carbon-fiber aerodynamic aids, and the Titano Package checks that box. A fixed carbon-fiber rear wing, as well as some other small changes to the bodywork, help increase downforce without dramatically altering the looks of the car. Lightweight wheels with carbon-aluminum construction, in a staggered 19-inch front/20-inch rear setup, are also part of the package. In addition to the wheels, changes to the cooling ducts for the Brembo braking system help further reduce unsprung mass. The Pacchetto Titano doubles down on that with exposed carbon-fiber bodywork, but customers will presumably be able to choose paint as well. The car also has a fire-suppression system and Alcantara upholstery with billet aluminum accents, along with a compact steering wheel with blue center stripe. Eccentrica didn't break out pricing for the Titano Package, but its builds start at $1.4 million, not including the cost of a donor car. The company plans to build just 19 of its Eccentrica V12 restomods, and aims for each build to be unique. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Infiniti is giving its QX80 SUV a little juice with a pair of concepts showcasing its capability. The first is the Terrain Spec concept, which rides on a raised suspension and all-terrain tires. It also features fender flares and a roof-top tent. The large light-up bar on the roof also signals that it means serious adventuring business. The Track Spec concept seems more of a stretch for this full-size luxury SUV. But Infiniti has blessed it with large 24-inch wheels and a rear diffuser for a more aggressive look. But the Track Spec concept isn't just an appearance thing. A revised twin-turbocharging system for the V-6 engine has boosted horsepower to above 650 hp and raised torque to over 750 lb-ft. To help slow the QX80 Track Spec's mass, a set of larger Brembo front brakes have also been installed. The Terrain Spec concept seems more on brand with the QX80's SUV bones, but both concepts are pretty cool. We aren't sure either one will make it to production, but given that Nissan just released a NISMO version of the Armada (an SUV that's related to the QX80), anything is possible.
