The Baeksang, South Korea's biggest awards night honouring the year's best storytelling, drama, and actors across film, television, and theatre, aired its 61st edition on April 5, 2025. The results are out, and there are some major shocks and surprises. While one of the most talked-about K-dramas, When Life Gives You Tangerines, snagged a few major wins, its actors, Park Bo Gum and IU, unfortunately, lost their Best Actor and Actress awards. Meanwhile, the second most talked-about show, Lovely Runner, also saw its actors lose the race; however, they did win the popularity vote. Here is the complete winners list.
Baeksang Arts Awards 2025 winners
When Life Gives You Tangerines wins the Best Drama award
Netflix hit When Life Gives You Tangerines, inspired by a real-life Jeju couple and starring Park Bo Gum and IU in the lead roles, has won the Baeksang Award in the Best Drama category. The show revolves around Oh Ae Sun and her life partner Gwan Sik, who have remained inseparable since childhood. The childhood sweethearts turned lovers get married early and battle life's hardships, smiling through every tangerine (lemon) thrown at them by life, while sticking together and facing it all—raising a family, getting their kids married, and just as life goes on, thinking the next spring might be better. The slice-of-life K-drama was hailed as one of the most relevant shows in recent times. The drama was up against Lovely Runner, The Tale of Lady Ok, Doubt, and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. The show received a total of 8 nods, followed by Doubt that received 6, and the rest at five. When Life Gives You Tangerines also snagged awards in categories like Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor (Choi Dae Hoon), and Best Supporting Actress (Yeom Hye Ran).

Who is Aaron Rodgers' wife? NFL star confirms marriage but keeps her identity secret

NFL star Aaron Rodgers has confirmed he's a married man — but he's not saying who the bride is. The 41-year-old quarterback, who's preparing for his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, revealed the news at the team's minicamp this week, adding to the growing mystery around his personal life. Aaron Rodgers was seen wearing a wedding ring during a press interaction on Tuesday. When asked directly, he confirmed the marriage, saying simply, 'Been a couple of months,' referring to an offseason wedding earlier in 2025. However, that was all he would reveal. Rodgers offered no name, no date, and no details about his wife, keeping both fans and media guessing. Speculation has swirled for months. Back in April, Rodgers hinted on *The Pat McAfee Show* that he was in a 'serious relationship,' though he didn't name his partner. In a December 2024 interview, he mentioned dating a woman named 'Brittani' — with an 'I' — but whether she is now his wife remains unclear. Rodgers has had several high-profile romances in the past, including Olivia Munn, Danica Patrick and Shailene Woodley. In the 2024 Netflix series 'Aaron Rodgers: Enigma', he reflected on those public relationships, saying he now prefers to keep his love life out of the spotlight. 'I didn't do myself any favours with some of the girls I dated after that that were in the public eye,' he admitted. Aaron Rodgers is set to play his debut season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025. The veteran quarterback has signed a one-year deal worth $13.6 million, with performance-based incentives that could take his earnings up to $19 million. As Rodgers gears up for a new chapter on the field with the Steelers, it seems he's also starting a new life at home — quietly and away from the public eye.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui slams streaming platforms for prioritizing profit over art: 'Baazar toh ban hi gaya'

Nawazuddin Siddiqui criticized streaming platforms for prioritizing profits over creativity, calling them marketplaces. He warned that overemphasizing commercial aspects harms art. Recently, Anurag Kashyap called Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos 'the definition of dumb,' sparking mixed reactions, including a subtle jab from Ekta Kapoor referencing Kashyap's 'saas-bahu' remark. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has frequently voiced his concerns about the Hindi film industry's shortcomings. Recently, he also took aim at streaming services, accusing them of putting business and profits ahead of creativity and artistic quality. According to him, these platforms have turned into commercial hubs, losing sight of true artistic values. Streaming Platforms Turning into Marketplaces Talking to SCREEN, Siddiqui said, 'Irrespective of any platform or any process, it starts out as great and then turns into a market. Baazar toh ban hi gaya hai. Studios in India keep saying we need 'commercial' qualities attached to every project. I don't agree with that. If the product is of a certain quality, then the commercial aspect eventually gets attached to it organically.' The Harm of Overemphasizing Commercial Aspects He explained that placing too much emphasis on the commercial side of art can cause significant harm. Over time, projects that begin with great passion often end up becoming purely business ventures.
