Jon Hamm wasn't an overnight success.
The Your Friends & Neighbors star, 54, paid his dues with small parts until he got his big break on the hit AMC drama Mad Men. Newly surfaced video from the '90s shows one of Hamm's earlier 'roles'—this time as a contestant on a USA Network dating game show called The Big Date, hosted by Mark L. Walberg. The resurfaced footage shows a much younger, less-Hollywood-heartthrob Hamm talking about his ideal date. The aspiring actor was rejected twice on the show, but the footage lives on in infamy.Fans had strong reactions to Hamm's hair and his on-screen persona in the dating show footage.
One commenter wrote on the video shared to Instagram, 'That hair!' in reference to Hamm's '90s curtain cut and middle part, while another shared, 'He definitely got better looking with age.'Other fans weren't quite taken with Hamm's description of a perfect first date when he said, 'Well, start off with some fabulous food, some fabulous conversation.' When prompted to share what else would be fabulous about the date, Hamm offered, 'a fabulous foot massage for an evening of total fabulosity.'
In response, one fan quipped, 'We'd go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that.'
Some fans found Jon Hamm's dating show footage to channel full 1990s vibes with one writing, "I bet he tried out for Real World 😂"
While some fans were charmed by Hamm's early on-camera efforts, other commenters made note of a hazing incident the actor was reportedly involved in during his time at the University of Texas.

Legendary Rock Star, 73, Paid His Daughter $100 to Cut Her Hair

Legendary Rock Star, 73, Paid His Daughter $100 to Cut Her Hair originally appeared on Parade. Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp shared that her father, famed singer John Mellencamp, offered her $100 to cut her hair into a short bob during her childhood. While recording the June 9 episode of her podcast, Two Ts In A Pod, co-hosted by Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge, Mellencamp discussed trying to grow out her hair after undergoing radiation for her stage 4 melanoma. She explained that she has continued to shave her head because there are certain spots where her hair has not yet grown back in. "I didn't just shave my head. I went bald. I have bald spots all over my head," said Mellencamp. She also said she wasn't looking forward to the process of growing out her hair. She told Judge that she had a short haircut when she was 10, which she did not find flattering. The RHOBH alum explained that she cut her hair after her father paid her $100 to do so. "When I was 10 years old my dad paid me $100 to cut my hair this short. It was not a good look for me," said Mellencamp during the podcast episode. When Mellencamp said she "can't believe [she] did that for $100," Judge quipped, "You'd do anything for a buck." On June 9, Mellencamp took to her Instagram account to share a picture of herself at 10 years old with the short haircut. She also featured a photo of the actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas. "Who wore it better, young me or JTT?" read the caption of the post. "On the latest @ I was talking about chopping my hair off because @johnmellencamp offered me $100. So I obviously had to find the photo for the social clip. And then I realized I was giving 1990s Home Improvement aesthetics 😭." Several fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts about Mellencamp's post. "You're absolutely adorable no matter what. Why though @johnmellencamp ???" asked a commenter. "Look just like your dad! Definitely got the Mellencamp looks! Cute!" added another. "You did! You resemble your dad. ❤️," shared a different person. Noise complaints over YouTubers in neighborhood

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Complaints from neighbors in Black Forest say YouTubers in their area are making too much noise. However, the group behind the videos say they are doing what they can to address the concerns. YouTube Channel JStu Studios has more than ten million subscribers, and they have been making content out of a neighborhood in Black Forest for over two years. They say they always had a good relationship with neighbors until recently. 'We don't feel as welcomed by the neighbors anymore,' said Justin Stuart, Co-owner of JStu Studios. Neighbors say despite the large properties, sound can travel throughout the forest. 'I have heard from other neighbors that we have had some extra traffic across the road driving down our neighbor's driveway,' said Cody Buck, a nearby neighbor who said he doesn't have an issue with the studio. Stuart told FOX21 News that they have owned the land for a couple of years but recently built on it, and those renovations finished just about a month ago. That's when the complaints began. 'This build took a long time to put together, and so we weren't really in charge of any build trash that went around the neighborhood or anything like that, because we try and keep all our stuff in order,' said Stuart. When they first began filming in the area, they said they went around to neighbors to explain what they would be doing on the property. 'Our initial interaction with the neighbors was super good, but come to find out, two and a half years later, to our surprise, it wasn't the case, that they weren't too receptive of us, unfortunately,' said Stuart. Stuart says they want to maintain the peace in the area and are happy to help find a solution. 'We want to be able to work out any difficulty with anybody, whether that's with family members, friends… communication is key, right?' said Stuart. Now Stuart says they might just end up selling the property to keep everyone living in the area happy. 'It's definitely sad for us because we put a lot of time, effort, and money into this project and we've only been here for a month,' he said. However, one anonymous neighbor who is primarily raising the concerns said: 'The constant traffic from their 15-20 full time employees and regular construction of their large-scale buildings and sets has caused a major inconvenience to the neighbors and disrupted the peace and quiet we once had. Furthermore, we are concerned that their un-permitted buildings and sets will eventually cause someone to get hurt.' But not all of the surrounding neighbors want them to leave. 'I don't have a problem with it, I'm out here to enjoy my land,' said Buck. To appease neighbors who disagree, Buck suggested the creators find some solutions like soundproofing their building and finding set times of the day for them to film. 'We totally understand, and we want to work it out in the best way possible with you guys,' said Stuart. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
