Celero Ventures Opens $25 Million Early-Stage Fund to Investors Backing the Next Generation of European Software Companies

Business Wire01-07-2025
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Celero Ventures, a new venture capital firm founded by experienced software operators Dave Wyatt and Nick Cochran, is now raising its debut $25 million fund to invest in early-stage startups across the UK and Europe. The fund, which is already 25% subscribed, targets pre-seed and seed-stage companies building next-generation AI and data infrastructure.
Celero Ventures, London's newest VC fund, launches with backing from @londonpartners and the Deputy Mayor — signalling strong confidence in the city's next generation of founders.

Based in London, Celero Ventures is inviting limited partners (LPs) to join its mission of backing exceptional technical founders and accelerating their path to product-market fit and scalable growth.
Wyatt and Cochran bring a rare combination of deep go-to-market (GTM) experience and startup leadership. Together, they helped scale both MuleSoft and Databricks—two of the most successful enterprise software companies of the past decade. Their experience building and leading commercial teams across Europe and North America forms the foundation of Celero's operator-first investment approach.
'Our goal is to give founders what we wish we'd had earlier in our careers: practical, experienced support from people who've built and scaled GTM from the ground up,' said Wyatt. 'We're raising this fund to support those teams early—when execution, speed, and strategic clarity matter most.'
The fund will invest in 20 to 25 companies, primarily across the UK and Europe, with an emphasis on AI, data tooling, and infrastructure software. Celero has already made its first investments, including leading a pre-seed round in a technical founding team building novel AI infrastructure.
Wyatt and Cochran have personally anchored the fund, reinforcing long-term alignment with both founders and investors.
'We're not just investing capital—we're investing capability,' said Cochran. 'We work side by side with founders on segmentation, hiring, pricing, and repeatable growth playbooks—the kinds of things we've done at scale ourselves.'
One of Celero's early portfolio companies, Catio, is already seeing that approach in action.
'Dave and Nick helped us get our GTM engine humming,' said Boris Bogatin, CEO of Catio. 'They bring sharp insight, hands-on support, and a real sense of partnership. They're the kind of investors you want when things are moving fast and stakes are high.'
Celero's strategy is grounded in the belief that strong commercial execution is often the difference-maker in early-stage success—especially for technical founding teams. The fund is designed to close that gap by offering both capital and highly relevant operational support.
While the firm is headquartered in London, Celero is building a geographically diverse portfolio across Europe. Its focus is on founders building the infrastructure and applications that will define the AI-native enterprise stack.
Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor of Business & Growth, said: 'It's great to see London reinforcing its position once more as a global leader in Tech, with London-based Celero Ventures expanding its investment in start-ups across the UK and Europe. This investment will be a game-changer for start-ups in their early stages, offering both funding and operational support at a critical time. Europe is home to incredible talent in the AI and data infrastructure space, and I look forward to seeing how Celero's backing transforms companies beginning to make their mark in this industry.'
'Europe is home to world-class technical talent,' said Wyatt. 'What many of those teams need is sharper, earlier GTM support. That's what we're bringing—and we're looking for LPs who believe in the same opportunity.'
Janet Coyle CBE, Managing Director of Grow London at London & Partners said: "Here in the capital, investors and founders alike benefit from a unique blend of world‑leading talent, unrivalled market access and a quality of life that simply can't be matched. From the energy of our tech communities to the global networks that span the City and Canary Wharf, London offers VCs and funds a gateway to Europe and beyond. It's no surprise that more and more investors are calling London home. We look forward to working with Celero Ventures as they back the next generation of AI and infrastructure innovators right here in London.'
Celero Ventures is currently speaking with family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and institutional investors interested in partnering on the next wave of software innovation—alongside a team with deep operating experience and proven track records.

AI Is Restructuring GTM, And Engineers Are Taking Over

Aurelien Aubert is Founder & CEO of Cargo, building AI agents that automate GTM workflows for modern revenue teams. Most go-to-market (GTM) teams today still follow a legacy structure: Sales development representatives (SDRs) source leads, account executives (AEs) close deals and account managers (AMs) manage renewals. Behind the scenes, a reactive ops team supports it all, often understaffed and operating in the shadows. This assembly-line model was built for a pre-AI era, and it's already breaking under the pressure of today's speed, complexity and data volume. The future looks very different. AI won't just augment GTM teams—it will fundamentally restructure them. At the center of this shift is a new role: the GTM engineer. Part systems architect, part growth strategist, this role consolidates multiple GTM functions into one. Instead of hiring five people to run isolated parts of the funnel, companies will build modular workflows, driven by AI and orchestrated by an engineer. Automating The GTM Data Layer It starts with data. Today, teams spend hours wrangling spreadsheets, syncing tools and cleaning customer relationship management (CRM) fields. In the engineered GTM model, that work is automated through three foundational modules: 1. Extraction Module: An AI research agent ingests every signal (e.g., website visits, intent alerts, CRM updates and product usage) and pipes it into a clean, real-time data layer. 2. Enrichment Module: A qualification agent augments leads with data from dozens of third-party sources, then scores them using custom models. 3. Engagement Module: An AI SDR agent generates personalized outreach at scale. Strategic or high-risk accounts are flagged for human review and everything else is handled autonomously. Each module is built as a composable 'play,' enabling GTM engineers to deploy or update them with the speed and discipline of modern software development. Routing: Human, AI Or Hybrid? With structured data flowing in, the next question is: Who acts on it—AI, a human or both? This is where decision APIs come into play. The GTM engineer defines rules that determine how each lead is handled: IF deal_size > $50K → HUMAN ELSE IF predictive_score < 0.4 → AI_ONLY ELSE → HYBRID (AI_DRAFT + HUMAN_REVIEW) • AI-Only: For high-volume, low-value leads, AI handles everything end-to-end. • Human: For high-value enterprise accounts, senior AEs are looped in immediately via Slack or CRM. • Hybrid: For mid-tier deals, AI drafts the outreach and human reps refine and send. This model helps ensure the right resource is deployed for every opportunity, balancing cost, speed and quality without overloading your team. GTM As A Continuous Delivery System Modern engineering teams don't ship once a quarter—they deploy, test and iterate constantly. The same mindset now applies to GTM infrastructure. • Canary Launches: New sequences, qualification models or AI prompts are rolled out to a small portion of the funnel. Performance is monitored before scaling. • Feature Flags: GTM enables testing a new pricing offer or changing a call to action (CTA) without requiring an engineering sprint. • Live Telemetry: Conversion rates, response times, latency and agent accuracy are tracked in real time. If something breaks, routing logic can shift instantly or models can be retrained on the fly. A GTM Engineer's Responsibilities At the center of it all is the GTM engineer. Their job is to architect growth workflows, not run manual playbooks. Key responsibilities include: • Playbook Engineering: Building modular GTM flows that are version-controlled, reusable and testable. • API And Integration Ownership: Connecting Slack, HubSpot, Salesforce, enrichment tools and AI agents into a single system. • Performance Monitoring: Creating dashboards and alerts to track funnel health, agent performance and campaign ROI. • AI Collaboration Design: Defining how AI agents and humans work together—who drafts, who reviews and who owns outcomes. New Skills, New Org Chart As GTM becomes more engineered, the most valuable skills shift: • SQL and data are used to build custom lead scoring, track funnel drop-off and debug workflows. • Context engineering becomes vital for crafting AI instructions for agents. • Low-code integration helps in stitching together tools and agents into clean, self-healing systems. • An experimentation mindset is necessary to test, measure and optimize like an engineer, not a marketer. Traditional GTM organizations will flatten. The SDR/AE/AM model will give way to agile pods where a GTM engineer owns a segment or product line end-to-end, supported by lightweight human reps and scalable AI agents. Conclusion The AI-native GTM team won't just use AI—it will be built like software. Static playbooks will be replaced by code. Outreach will be generated, optimized and delivered by AI. And the entire funnel will be orchestrated by a GTM engineer who acts more like a growth-focused DevOps lead than a traditional sales operator. Man Used AI to Generate a Custom Tune for His BMW 335i

TikTok creator wyattwebsterrr might have just pulled off one of the wildest DIY tuning experiments yet. He recently bought a 2007 BMW 335i for $1,500. Of course, for that price, it wasn't perfect. It sat on 240,000 miles and needed a new transmission, which he paid just $200 for. Other than a straight-pipe exhaust, the BMW was completely stock. Then, he asked ChatGPT to write a custom tune. The result is a beater that would outrun a brand-new BMW 3 Series. Wyatt started with a simple question for ChatGPT: "Can you give me a custom tune for my 335i?" He then supplied the AI with details such as his ECU version, the fact that it has a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the type of turbos it was equipped with. In return, ChatGPT handed over a full custom tune file. Wyatt then used the MHD Tuning app to load the AI's creation straight onto the E90's ECU. Usually, this process would take hours, if not days, when working with a reputable tuner. But thanks to modern technology, it took just a few minutes. People love modifying 335i models because of the N54 engine that lives under the hood. From the factory, the twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six sends 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Although Wyatt has yet to release all the power figures, he posted a TikTok showing the tuned 335i's new driving experience. Boost pressure jumped to 19.3 psi. The exhaust, once relatively tame, now delivered loud burbles and pops that were impossible to ignore. The rear tyres broke traction much easier than before, and the BMW's 0 to 60 mph time dropped to just 5.17 seconds. That's a full second quicker than before, thanks to a tune written entirely by an AI. Professional tuners spend years learning how to safely squeeze more performance out of an engine, while accounting for wear and tear and long-term reliability. While ChatGPT might be able to make a high-mileage BMW faster, there's always the risk of something breaking. Still, for a cheap 335i and a viral TikTok clip, it is hard to argue that this wasn't worth the gamble. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Landbase Acquires Adauris to Bring Vibe AI to Inbound Marketing

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Landbase, the agentic AI company transforming how businesses grow, today announced its acquisition of Adauris, the startup creating custom intent signals through content generation, leveraged by B2B companies to identify, engage, and convert high-intent leads through distributed content. The acquisition further accelerates Landbase's expansion into AI-native inbound, with the Adauris team already behind the release of Landbase's first inbound marketing feature. 'We're building the future of GTM: intelligent, connected, and deeply multimodal,' said Daniel Saks, CEO of Landbase. Share This announcement follows Landbase's $30M Series A and strengthens its position as the first platform to unify outbound and inbound automation. Landbase has seen rapid adoption since its initial launch, and the acquisition of Adauris is the latest in a series of moves to rapidly expand the platform's capabilities and lead the category in AI GTM. Landbase's CEO, Daniel Saks, coined the term Vibe AI to describe a new software paradigm where users describe what they want in natural language, and intelligent, agentic systems handle the execution to turn intent into outcomes without the need for complex interfaces or manual workflows. 'We're building the future of GTM: intelligent, connected, and deeply multimodal,' said Daniel Saks, CEO of Landbase. 'The Adauris team brings the technical depth and GTM insight to supercharge our inbound roadmap. Together, we're launching high-impact entry points like signal-based LinkedIn publishing and laying the foundation for AI-powered marketing channels that will complement our existing outbound capabilities.' Adauris' work on content-driven lead generation directly supports Landbase's vision for signal-based GTM. The Adauris team previously built high-intent signal infrastructure used across niche B2B media networks, reaching 10M+ monthly impressions and identifying 45,000+ prospects per day. These capabilities will now plug directly into GTM-1 Omni, Landbase's agentic AI model and orchestration engine — unlocking new signal types that drive both outbound and inbound performance in the Landbase platform. With the acquisition, Landbase gains a founding team deeply experienced in building inbound infrastructure and growth systems: Logan Underwood, former Adauris CEO and now Head of Partnerships, will lead the Landbase partner ecosystem, expanding agency collaborations Tina Haertel, former Adauris COO and now Director of Product, will lead development of Landbase's inbound marketing capabilities Griffin Cook, former Adauris CTO, will serve as Engineering Lead for Landbase's inbound product line 'We joined Landbase because it's solving a critical market pain point: providing a unified approach to GTM, and combining inbound and outbound into single omni-channel campaigns,' said Underwood. 'We saw the power of Landbase as a customer and a partner, and the impact is undeniable. We couldn't be more excited to join forces to accelerate the pace of autonomous GTM.' The Adauris team has already spearheaded the platform's first marketing-facing feature for LinkedIn thought leadership posting, which helps GTM teams post signal-based, brand-led content, track real-time buyer engagement, and warm the market — all from within the Landbase platform. 'Everyone wants more visibility, but most teams don't know what to say or who's listening,' said Haertel. 'This feature makes it easy to publish with purpose and connect content to demand, and it's just the beginning of Landbase's inbound roadmap.' This is the first of several new marketing features planned for the Landbase platform, as it evolves into the operating system for GTM. Future updates will extend Landbase's inbound capabilities with more publishing channels, engagement analytics, and signal-based content automation. For more information, visit Landbase. About Landbase Landbase is an Agentic AI company that helps businesses find and contact their next customer.
