Kelly Clarkson says ex-husband is ill, postpones Vegas residency dates
The singer announced on social media Wednesday night, Aug. 6, that the August dates of her Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace will be postponed while she tends to her family.
'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,' she wrote.
Clarkson, 43, apologized to ticketholders, adding, 'I appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.'
Her remaining concerts this month were set for Aug. 8-9 and 15-16. Her next round of shows are scheduled for Nov. 7-8 and 14-15.

This is the second postponement of Clarkson's latest Vegas residency. Her opening show July 4 was canceled hours before show time after the 'Since U Been Gone' hitmaker strained her voice during rigorous rehearsals.
"We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans," she said in her statement at the time. 'I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow's opening.'
Clarkson's mix of natural humor, a homey stage and a set list that showcases her powerhouse vocals on hits including 'Heartbeat Song' and 'Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)' has captivated fans during her sold-out shows at the 4,100-capacity venue.

Jacob's Pillow has canceled the remainder of its 2025 festival following the tragic workplace death of its production manager, Kat (Kathryn) Sirico. 'The Jacob's Pillow Board of Trustees and institutional leadership has decided that Festival 2025 will not continue,' the western Massachusetts-based dance center said in an advisory on its website and social media, adding 'this difficult decision' was made 'following the tragic accident on our campus on August 1.' Sirico, 40, of Rochester, New York, died Aug. 1 in a workplace accident on the campus of the historic dance center in Becket, about 130 miles west of Boston, according to the Berkshire District Attorney's Office in a news release Aug. 1. Sirico, who used the pronouns they/them/their, tried to get the runaway dolly but tripped and fell. The dolly ran over them, resulting in the platforms falling on Sirico, authorities added. The district attorney's office did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for an update, but no criminal charges are expected to be filed. Festival was scheduled to run through Aug. 24 After the accident, the organization canceled all weekend performances, expecting the festival to resume the following week. However, Jacob's Pillow leadership later decided to cancel the remainder of the 2025 Festival, originally scheduled to run until August 24. The 93rd annual Dance Festival, which began on June 25, included nine weeks of performances by world-class artists and various family-friendly events, according to a media release. 'For 93 years, Jacob's Pillow has been a haven for dance and a community dedicated to its creation, presentation, education, and preservation,' the organization said. 'We look forward to welcoming audiences back to our campus.' Ticket holders affected by the cancellation will receive full refunds, the organization said. Gina Carano settles lawsuit with Disney, Lucasfilm over 'Mandalorian' firing
"The Mandalorian" actress Gina Carano, who took legal action against Disney and Lucasfilm following her 2021 firing, has reached an agreement with her former studio bosses. Carano, who starred as bounty hunter Cara Dune in the Star Wars-themed Disney+ series, revealed in an Aug. 7 X post that she reached a deal with The Walt Disney Company and production company Lucasfilm in her lawsuit against the companies over her termination from the sci-fi show. Disney fired Carano, 43, for "abhorrent and unacceptable" language after the actress drew online controversy for sharing social media posts that mocked transgender rights, criticized COVID-19 vaccine mandates and mask wearers, questioned the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election, and likened the treatment of conservatives to Jews in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust. Carano filed a lawsuit in February 2024, claiming she was fired because she went against an "online bully mob who demanded her compliance with their extreme progressive ideology," The Associated Press and The Hollywood Reporter reported at the time.
