When Will IPL 2025 Resume?

BCCI can consider three possible windows to host the remaining matches of IPL 2025, depending on the de-escalation of the India-Pakistan conflict.
IPL 2025 has been indefinitely suspended due to cross-border war-like tensions between India and Pakistan. Although the countries are significantly away from a full-fledged war, shelling in border states, preparatory blackouts in several cities, and certain escalatory moves have caused unprecedented tensions.
This is not the first time that the tournament hasn't gone on as planned. In 2009, the season was completely moved to South Africa due to its clash with the General Elections in India. In 2014, due to the same reason, the first half of the tournament was held in the UAE, before coming back to India.
In 2020, it was postponed before the first match and hosted by the UAE in September-November, whereas the 2021 season had to be suspended mid-way due to bio-bubble breaches and was resumed later in the UAE.
Similarly, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would certainly be working on plans to find a window to complete this season. Twelve league matches and four knockout games are left to be played, but the details of the resumption plan would become clear only after the conflict de-escalates.
As of now, there seem to be three clear windows for it:
#3 Late May and June
In the unlikely scenario that the conflict de-escalates in the coming days and peace prevails between the two countries soon, the IPL could resume in May itself. It'll be difficult to manage the logistical needs, but the stadiums, at the very least, would be prepared to host the games.
There's a small window between the original final of the IPL on May 25 and the first Test between India and England on June 20. If confidence in security can be restored, the BCCI could host multiple double-headers to finish the season in less than a couple of weeks.
According to a report in The Times of India, the BCCI might be open to the possibility of using a window earlier reserved for the men's tour of Bangladesh and the 2025 Asia Cup for IPL 2025.
As of now, the final Test against England is to be held from July 31 to August 4 and India is then scheduled to tour Bangladesh between August 17 and 23 for three ODIs. However, the latter series was already under clouds of doubt well before the ongoing tensions, due to strained relations between India and Bangladesh.
The second half of August could be a comfortable window for the IPL. A couple of issues in that could be monsoons in India and the possible unavailability of some star players due to clashes with other T20 leagues and international series around the world.
#1 September Window
This could be another good option for the BCCI to consider. The IPL has been previously held in September-November windows due to various reasons and as of now, India's international calendar has a space in this month.
The BCCI was supposed to host the Asia Cup this month, but, like the tour of Bangladesh, that could be indefinitely postponed due to the relations between the neighboring countries. In such a scenario, the BCCI would be able to host the remaining games in India or in another country, like the UAE or South Africa, without forcing too many double headers as well.

Bengaluru stampede: Karnataka HC directs release of RCB's marketing head Nikhil Sosale, others
The Karnataka High Court on Thursday ordered interim release of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) marketing head Nikhil Sosale and three others arrested in connection with the June 4 stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which claimed 11 lives, news agency PTI reported. The other accused, Sunil Mathew, Kiran Kumar S, and Shamant N P Mavinakere, are officials from DNA Entertainment Networks Pvt Ltd, the event management company that organised the victory celebration for RCB's maiden IPL title win. Justice S R Krishna Kumar, who heard arguments on June 11, passed the order while directing all four to surrender their passports. The four were arrested on June 6 and were in judicial custody. On June 9, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) produced them before a magistrate court seeking nine days' custody, but the court deferred the decision pending the High Court's verdict. The CID had initially sought nine days' custody of the accused to investigate lapses in planning and crowd control at the event. However, the move was challenged by senior advocate Sandesh Chouta, representing RCB's Head of Marketing, Nikhil Sosale, who pointed out that the matter was already under consideration by the High Court. The magistrate hearing the case also questioned the urgency of the CID's request, asking what could be achieved in just one day of custody before the High Court's verdict was expected. CID's Assistant Superintendent of Police, Jagadeesh, defended the need for interrogation, citing its relevance to investigating how the tragedy unfolded, the report added.
