As is the case with every Universal park, each land is based off of its own film or collection of films that only Universal can provide.
So let's take a look at what movies, television shows, and video games you need to enjoy each land and attraction to its fullest.

Additionally, the gateway land for Epic Universe is Celestial Park, connecting all of the lands together.
Let's take a look at everything you need to experience to be ready for each of these exciting lands.

Isle of Berk – How to Train Your Dragon Series
Based on the 'How to Train Your Dragon' franchise, the Isle of Berk takes guests into an exciting world of vikings and dragons, who are now living in harmony.
Somewhat obviously, the best viewing option to get into the spirit of Berk is any of the 'How to Train Your Dragon' animated films as well as the television series. All of them follow the adventures of Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and Toothless.
Additionally, a live-action adaptation of the first film is set to release on June 13, 2025.
Super Nintendo World – The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Super Nintendo World takes guests into the iconic games created by Shigeru Miyamoto and allows them to spend time with the likes of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong.
A movie recommendation for this land is easy since there is only one that fits the theming. 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2023 and is a ton of fun.
For further recommendations, you'll have to plug in your Nintendo Switch and play some games. To get a solid taste of what Super Nintendo World is based on, play 'Mario Kart 8,' any 3D Super Mario game, or any of the 'Donkey Kong Country' games.
Dark Universe – Classic Universal Monster Films
Dark Universe puts guests side by side with the same monsters that made Universal Pictures famous, including Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, The Bride of Frankenstein, and more.
While there have been modern interpretations of these monsters, nothing beats the classics, especially 'Frankenstein,' 'The Bride of Frankenstein,' 'The Invisible Man,' 'Dracula,' 'Wolfman,' and 'The Phantom of the Opera.'

Also, if you're looking to have some fun, try the Abbott & Costello Universal monster films. They're a ton of fun and a great way to meet these creatures in less terrifying circumstances.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
This now marks the third Wizarding World of Harry Potter land in the US, this time putting a focus on the Ministry of Magic set in 1920s Paris, France.
This sets the land in the same time period as the 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' series. The first two films of the trilogy are great to set the scene while also introducing the Circus Arcanus, who performs in the park.
Additionally, 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' is required viewing for anyone who wants to go on the ride 'Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.' Not only does it focus on the Ministry of Magic, it also introduces Dolores Umbridge, the main villain of the attraction.

Ethan Hawke Returns In First Trailer For 'Black Phone 2'

The 2021 horror movie The Black Phone became a surprise horror hit for Blumhouse based on the short story of the same name by author Joe Hill. Because the film was such a hit, earning $161.4 million on a budget between $16-18 million, a sequel was greenlit several years later. Now the full trailer for the follow-up – titled Black Phone 2 – has been released by Universal. Interestingly, the new sequel revolves around the characters from the first film, with the roles having been aged up to reflect the increased age of the actors. Ethan Hawke also returns to play The Grabber, the brutal antagonist of the first film, which this trailer depicts in a more Freddy Krueger style fashion. Here's the official trailer for Black Phone 2 : This trailer for Black Phone 2 puts an emphasis on the tense atmosphere that the film will feature, with an emphasis on its snowy winter setting, something which is a change from the original. Likewise, the footage is grainy and dark, with the signature use of filmic imagery that is enough to make viewers' blood run as cold as the wintery shots depicted. The cast for Black Phone 2 , as the trailer features, includes returning cast members Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies and Miguel Mora. For Hawke's character, given his fate in the preceding flick, it looks like his role as The Grabber has expanded into a more supernatural threat. Scott Derrickson returned to direct the follow-up for Blumhouse and Universal which was once again written by C. Robert Cargill and Derrickson. The two seem to have cracked a great idea that made producing a sequel a worthwhile endeavor. Black Phone 2 is scheduled to hit theaters later this year on October 17, 2025. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding this highly-anticipated sequel to the horror hit The Black Phone as we have them.

Scottie Scheffler's Memorial Message for His Wife, Meredith, Unveiled

On Sunday, Scottie Scheffler defended his title at The Memorial to join Tiger Woods as the only other player to do so at Muirfield Village. He defeated Ben Griffin by four shots to earn his 16th PGA Tour victory and second of the season. CBS Sports' Amanda Balionis asked him about the emotional win and getting to shake Jack Nicklaus' hand for a second straight year. However, her asking about his wife, Meredith, and her support and impact on his career got him emotional. "You're really trying to make me emotional," Scheffler told Balionis. Then, in a not-so-typical Scheffler moment, he got choked up as he expressed himself. "My wife is my biggest supporter," he said, fighting back tears. "She's my best friend know, this is our life here on the road. We have had some special memories at this tournament. I definitely couldn't do it without her." An emotional Scottie Scheffler speaks with Amanda Balionis following his @MemorialGolf win 😊 — Golf on CBS ⛳ (@GolfonCBS) June 1, 2025 Balionis subtly compared him and Meredith to Jack and Barbara Nicklaus. She explained how important she was to the Golden Bear's career and made the connection with what seems to be the next power couple, the Schefflers. When Scheffler wins, Meredith embraces him, and their love shines through the camera. Now they have their son Bennett, who continues to steal the spotlight from his dad. DUBLIN, OHIO - JUNE 01: Scottie Scheffler of the United States poses for photos with wife Meredith, son Bennett, Barbara Nicklaus, and Jack Nicklaus after winning the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday 2025 at Muirfield Village Golf Club on June 01, 2025 in Dublin, Ohio. More Photo byIt happened after his PGA Championship win, and again at The Memorial, as Scheffler switched to dad mode even with media obligations. The three-time major champion rarely shows emotions, but Scheffler could not help himself when talking about his little family. The Schefflers continue to steal the hearts of golf fans, and this small quote shows how much it means to the No. 1 ranked golfer to have them there. These players depend on wins for a long career, but their support systems are equally important, and Scheffler seems to have a great one.
