Tekun Disburses RM23 Mln In Financing To Indian Entrepreneurs As Of May 1
IPOH, June 14 (Bernama) -- The National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (TEKUN Nasional) has disbursed RM23 million in financing to 879 Indian entrepreneurs across the country as of May 1 this year.
Senior private secretary to Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, Datuk B. Anbumani, said the government provided the allocation under the SPUMI (Indian Community Entrepreneur Development Scheme) Goes Big financing scheme, benefiting 137 recipients, adding that another 742 Indian entrepreneurs received funding through the TEKUN SPUMI scheme.
'In addition to TEKUN financing, many other initiatives under the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP) have been rolled out this year, aimed at boosting the economic development of the Indian community.
'Therefore, the Indian community must make the most of the platforms provided by the government, as their economic well-being is crucial. KUSKOP remains committed to supporting Indian entrepreneurs by offering various financing opportunities to help them grow their businesses,' he said.
He said this today on behalf of the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Deputy Minister, Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, after the Vanakam MADANI engagement session with Perak Indian entrepreneurs here.
Anbumani said that these entrepreneurs are selling sarees, providing transportation services, running restaurants or retail outlets, and are involved in online ventures, among other things.

MTD Properties Embarks On Two Residential And Industrial Projects In Melaka
REGION - SOUTHERN > NEWS MELAKA, June 14 (Bernama) -- MTD Properties Sdn Bhd is set to develop two property projects in Melaka, comprising residential and industrial units, with phased construction expected to begin this year. MTD group chief executive officer Reime Rizal Abd Aziz stated that the projects -- to be developed in Taman Tasik Utama, Ayer Keroh -- are the MTD Nexus 28 Industrial Park, slated for launch in August, and MTD Elysia Heights in October. 'The development of MTD Nexus 28 Industrial Park will be a modern industrial estate equipped with smart systems and solar PV panel installations to support sustainability. The project will involve 87 industrial units or factory lots, primarily targeting the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector. bootstrap slideshow 'Meanwhile, MTD Elysia Heights is a residential development comprising 197 units designed with a contemporary concept, offering stylish living, comfort, and long-term value to buyers who prioritise quality of life in a strategic location. Reime Rizal made the remarks following the groundbreaking ceremony of MTD Nexus 28 Industrial Park, the pre-launch of MTD Elysia Heights, and the official opening of the Metacorp Properties Sales Office, officiated by State Deputy Senior Executive Councillor for Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change, and Disaster Management, Datuk Zulkiflee Mohd Zin. Sales Manager Loses Over RM300,000 To Online Investment Scam
SEREMBAN, June 14 (Bernama) -- A sales manager of a factory in Nilai near here lost RM389,000 to an online investment scam on Facebook recently. Nilai district police chief Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the man, in his late 40s, claimed to have dealt with an individual offering the investment scheme on April 19 before he was asked to download an app on his mobile phone. 'He then transferred money to six accounts provided by the individual through nine transactions totalling RM389,000 for investment, but realised he had been deceived when he couldn't access the app anymore and could not withdraw his profits,' he said in a statement tonight, adding that the victim then lodged a police report at 2.50 pm today.
