These Brits at least learned their punishments - unlike dozens still awaiting trial around the world for drugs smuggling charges
SMUGGLE HELL Yet more Brit drug mules caught as pair, 19 & 21, jailed for 6 YEARS after being found with 150lbs of cannabis in case
TWO young Brits have been jailed for six years each for smuggling nearly 70kg of cannabis out of Thailand stashed in their luggage.
Tihaise Darlin Elisha, 19, and Taylor Tamara Simone, 21, were swooped on by staff at an airport in Zimbabwe in May - two amongst a slew of Brit arrested on international drugs smuggling charges recently.

Security officers at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare noticed the pair acting suspiciously on May 1, so yanked them aside.
A search of their luggage found that four Monarch suitcases were completely stuffed with weed.
Police found 53 packets containing a total of 66kg of loose skunky cannabis, known locally as "dagga".
The red and brown cases were tagged with the young Brits' names.

Three months later, the pair have been found guilty of drugs trafficking by the Harare Magistrates' Court, according to Zimbabwe's national prosecutor.
Each was sentenced to nine years in prison, with three years suspended on condition of good behaviour.
The National Prosecuting Authority warned that the country maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward transnational drug trafficking, saying: "The law will catch up with offenders, no matter their nationality.
"Airports are not gateways for crime."

The number of Brits arrested for international drugs smuggling has exploded in recent months.
Many of those have flown out from Thailand - and a few cases have made international headlines.
Charlotte May Lee fears being locked away for 20yrs over £1.2m Sri Lanka drugs bust – & is 'aware' of Bella Culley case
Bella May Culley, 19, was arrested in Georgia in May after allegedly bundling a large cannabis stash out of the Kingdom - and is awaiting trial.
The teen claimed she had been "forced under torture" by a Brit drug gang in Thailand to carry the haul through the airport, heading for Tbilisi.

21-year-old mum Cameron Bradford has been accused of smuggling cannabis in her bags
And a young British mum, Cameron Bradford, 21, was nabbed in Munich in April for allegedly smuggling the marijuana as well.
In February, British and Thai authorities collaborated with Operation Chaophraya - which was cracked down specifically on smugglers attempting to post cannabis from Thailand to the UK.
This results in the arrest of over 50 Brits in Thailand.

Other networks have been uprooted, such as 11 Brits nabbed in March in relation to large-scale smuggling through the airport on the island of Koh Samui.
A month later, Thai police caught Adel Mohammed in Bangkok, who they suspect of pulling the strings behind the operation.

Neighbours of Brit grandad who ‘attempted to drown' daughter-in-law say she WAS his ‘girlfriend' as they reveal shock

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FRIENDS of a British grandad accused of trying to drown his daughter-in-law have told of their shock at his attempted murder charge. Neighbours revealed how Mark Gibbon, 62, would "often" have his alleged victim Jasmine Wyld - who locals described as his "girlfriend" - "staying with him". Lighting technician Gibbon, who has worked with pop stars like Ed Sheeran and once helped make the late Queen Elizabeth's Christmas TV broadcast, is rumoured to have been dating Wyld - his son's ex. Both Gibbon and Wyld, 33, denied to police that they were romantically involved with each other. But neighbours of Gibbon's £800,000 semi-detached home in the posh Buckinghamshire market town of Beaconsfield openly referred to Wyld as Gibbon's girlfriend. They also expressed their horror at the arrest of the grandad -who they said "kept himself to himself" - over the alleged attempted murder of Wyld. One neighbour said: "Everybody is shocked by this." A woman living next door refused to give her name but said she was good friends with the mum-of-two. She told The Sun: "I'd never have imagined this might happen. "Jasmine used to stay here a lot with the children. But I don't want to say much more because she is a friend of mine." Gibbon's large brick-built semi-detached house was empty today with two vans and silver Skoda car parked outside. Moment drunk Brit pensioner, 66, is left with broken arm after getting into fight with Thai bar girl & being thrown to ground There was a statue of Buddha by the front door, along with two stickers saying 'Smile you're on camera'. Net curtains covered the windows. John Atkinson, 81, who lives across the road, said he was shocked at the situation. He said: "It's very difficult to countenance that Mark was trying to kill Jasmine. "Jasmine was often staying with him along with his grandchildren. "She always struck me as quite a cheerful character.' It comes after a rift between Gibbon and his son Alex - Wyld's ex-husband - emerged. Hairdresser Wyld separated from Alex, who she shares two children with, in 2021. Just two years after they separated, Alex, 34, was jailed for trying to run over his dad in a £80,000 Porsche Cayenne in Beaconsfield. As well as assaulting his father, Alex also pleaded guilty to harassing ex-wife Wyld. Alex was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court to 25 months in jail, a 36-month disqualification from driving, a five-year restraining order, plus a surcharge. 5 Jasmine Wyld, 33, and Mark Gibbon, 62, were understood to be in a relationship Credit: Facebook 5 Wyld claims Gibbon tried to drown her in Florida Credit: Facebook The dad was released from jail around six months ago and went to move in with his mum, who had divorced Gibbon some years earlier. Alex and his father also became embroiled in a public row in 2023 after Alex left his dad's business for an unknown reason. It is understood the pair no longer speak. Gibbon is being held in Polk County Jail - and both he and Wyld denied to cops that they were in a relationship. A detective asked Gibbon and mum-of-two Wyld "about their relationship to determine if the incident would be classified as domestic violence". Gibbon is due in court next week over the attempted murder charge levelled against him, and another hearing is set for September for his arraignment on two battery charges. He and Wyld were on holiday at the Solterra Resort in Devenport, near Disney World, Florida with Wyld's two children - Gibbon's grandkids - when the row over his will erupted, police say. The pair were arguing when Gibbon allegedly push Wyld's head "under the water and held her down multiple times". She claimed she "could not breathe" and "believed she was going to drown". Police say Wyld was forced to "fight Mark in order to get away from him and from under the water but he kept pushing her back under". Her nine-year-old daughter then leapt to her mother's defence but was pushed away by Gibbon, it is claimed. Gibbon is alleged to have stopped when two women dialled 911. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said after his arrest: 'Because Mr Gibbon couldn't control his anger, he may find himself spending a lot more time in Florida than he had anticipated.' When questioned, Gibbon is claimed to have admitted to pushing Jasmine underwater, but insisted he hadn't been trying to drown her. The case is now being handled by the prosecutor's office.

Bisping has now asked for more information about a notorious serial killer who he believes could be the same person that attacked him. He said: "A story was put on Twitter the other day about some notorious serial killer in the north of England between the 1990s and the 2000s who apparently is now locked up in prison for rape and murder. "He has been telling stories about the time he came to my house in the 1990s and tried to kill me. "They had a canister of petrol or gasoline and he was trying to burn the place down. Then he pulled out a lump hammer and I fought him off, chased him out the house. "We found out later by the police when they investigated and forensics came round, he'd climbed in through the window earlier that day and disconnected my phone line. "I was trying to call the police and he was just kind of watching me and then when he was convinced that I was actually talking to someone, he dropped the petrol or the gasoline and pulled out a lump hammer and then came over towards me. "I didn't know who it was, the police never caught him. I had my theories at the time because I'd had a few little skirmishes but no solid evidence. Now, almost 20 years later, some serial killer is in prison apparently saying it was him. "Apparently it's a YouTube channel on true crime called That Chapter. The MMA star retired from UFC in 2017, 13 years after making his professional fighting debut. During his career he held the UFC middleweight title and the Cage Rage light heavyweight title. Bisping has since dipped into the world of acting and has featured in films such as Den of Thieves and XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.

But despite reports of a love affair, both Gibbon and Wyld, 33, denied to cops they were a couple. Polk County Sheriff's Office told The Sun the pair had been quizzed on the status of their relationship. A detective asked Gibbon and mum-of-two Wyld "about their relationship to determine if the incident would be classified as domestic violence". They both denied being in a romantic relationship, however. It comes after a family source told the Daily Mail how the pair had grown close after Gibbon split from his partner and Wyld split from his son Alex. The insider claimed: "Mark and Jasmine have been seeing each other for a few years, but they've never admitted it. "[The couple] do an awful lot together and they go away on holiday with the children a couple of times every year." Gibbon is divorced from his wife and lives alone at a £800,000 semi-detached home in Beaconsfield he purchased in 2023. Wyld - a hairdresser - separated from Gibbon's son Alex, 34, back in 2021.
