Welcome to another edition of New TV Shows. This week, world-renowned leading ladies are taking to the small screen and leading new streaming series. Get ready because things are about to get good.
Nine new strangers will come together for the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers on Hulu. An NBC show is returning to say goodbye to its fans after four remarkable seasons. And John Krasinski and Natalie Portman star in Apple TV+'s newest project.
Some exciting series, including one for fans of cars and the Fast & Furious franchise, are premiering this week. Here's what's new on TV for May 18-24. NEW ON TV, MAY 18-24 May 20 – Motorheads
If you are a fan of the Fast & Furious movies, Prime Video's new series might be the right choice. Mothorheads tells the story of a group of outsiders who become friends against all odds. They are united by their love of street racing, which helps them navigate the unspoken rules of high school. The show includes Melissa Collazo, Mia Healey, Josh Macqueen and Michael Cimino.
Motorheads premieres Tuesday, May 20 at 3/2 am on Prime Video.

One group of strangers wasn't enough, so Nine Perfect Strangers returns with its second group this week. Nicole Kidman is still the lead of the show, and this season she is joined by Murray Bartlett, Christine Baranski, Annie Murphy, Dolly De Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, King Princess, Aras Aydin, Lucas Englander, Mark Strong and Lena Olin. With a new group of nine strangers, Masha leads the wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. In one week, she pushes them to the brink, and now we must find out if they make it through.
Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 premieres Wednesday, May 21 at Midnight/11c on Hulu. May 21 – Nine Puzzles
A new South Korean show arrives at Hulu and Disney+ this week. Nine Puzzles follows the story of Yoon Ena, a high school student who discovers the body of her murdered uncle. Next to the body, she discovers a single puzzle piece that makes no sense. When the police question her, Ena is unable to answer how she got to the crime scene and becomes the prime suspect.
Nine Puzzles premieres Wednesday, May 21 at Midnight/11c on Hulu and Disney+.

Tyler Perry brings a new show to Netflix: She the People . The series tells the story of Antoinette Dunkerson as she assumes the role of lieutenant governor. She navigates the political landscape of Mississippi and the governor she works with, plus her family's public image. The second part of the series will premiere in August.
She the People Part I premieres Thursday, May 22 at 3/2 am on Netflix. May 22 – Sirens
Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, Kevin Bacon and Glenn Howerton star in Netflix's Sirens . This limited series was created by Molly Smith Metzler, based on her play Elemeno Pea . The story takes place throughout one weekend at a luxury beach home. Focusing on different dynamics, it centers on Devon's concern for her sister's unhealthy relationship with her new boss.
Sirens premieres Thursday, May 22 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

The fourth and final season of Transplant comes to NBC this week. The two-hour premiere reintroduces viewers to Bash as he gets ready to finish his residency at York Memorial, which means he will requalify as a doctor. He and his sister are still navigating the reality of their adopted country.
Transplant Season 4 premieres Thursday, May 22 at 8/7c on NBC. May 23 – Fountain of Youth
This upcoming Friday is all about new and exciting movies. Apple TV+ premieres Fountain of Youth with John Krasinski and Natalie Portman playing estranged siblings. The two plan a global heist that will lead them to the mythological Fountain of Youth. With their extensive history knowledge, they hope to solve the clues that will change their lives forever. Eiza González, Domhnall Gleeson and Stanley Tucci join Krasinski and Portman.
Fountain of Youth premieres Friday, May 23 at Midnight/11c on Apple TV+.

To continue the Fear Street franchise, Netflix premieres Fear Street: Prom Queen . This fourth movie finds the it girls of Shadyside High competing for the role of Prom Queen. However, things get weird when they begin to disappear one by one, and an outsider realizes she is in for one fearsome prom night. Ariana Greenblatt, India Fowler, Ella Rubin, Fina Strazza and Suzanna Son lead the cast of this newest film.
Fear Street: Prom Queen premieres Friday, May 23 at 3/2 am on Netflix. May 24 – Our Unwritten Seoul
Twins Yoo Mi Ji and Yoo Mi Rae grew up being completely different, except for the fact that their faces are identical. Yoo Mi Ji was known for her athletic spirit in school and now lives a free-spirited life. Yoo Mi Rae has always led the path of elitism and is now working at a public corporation. The series follows them as things change when the two decide to switch lives for a reason only known to them.
Our Unwritten Seoul premieres Saturday, May 24 at 3/2 am on Netflix.

Taylor Swift seeks restraining order against Adams County man: ‘Fear for my safety'
DENVER (KDVR) — A Colorado man is subject to a temporary restraining order from music industry giant Taylor Swift after she filed for the protective measure on Friday. Swift alleged in court documents filed in Los Angeles County Court that Brian Jason Wagner, 45, of Henderson, has repeatedly come to her Los Angeles home over the past year or so. 'During each of these visits, I am informed that Mr. Wagner made various statements about living at my property (not true), being in a relationship with me (not true), believing I am the mother of his son (not true), and needing to see me in person, all of which are untrue and disconnected from reality,' Swift told the court. Swift, 35, said that her security told her that Wagner had visited her L.A. home again on May 21 and May 22 this year, asking to see the singer and saying he was there to check on a friend. 'My security team ran a criminal history report on Mr. Wagner which resulted in me learning that he was previously incarcerated. My security team and others on my staff alerted me that Mr. Wagner has a history of sending lengthy communications to me while he was incarcerated,' Swift told the court. Those communications reportedly included details of Wagner's infatuation with Swift, a fictional romantic relationship and other 'fabricated stories,' according to Swift. 'Mr. Wagner has also sent my staff hundreds of emails with similarly concerning and threatening language, tried to divert mail from my residence to his attention, and even lied to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to somehow change the address on his driver's license to my Los Angeles home,' Swift told the court. She noted that her LA address is not public information, and said that his repeated visits and refusal to leave while claiming to need access 'makes me fear for my safety and the safety of my family.' 'The fact that both of these recent visits and Mr. Wagner's inappropriate and threatening communications to my staff about me have escalated in recent weeks creates a fear of imminent harm,' Swift added. Colorado court records show that Wagner pleaded guilty in a Clear Creek County case to one count of forgery and one count of theft and was sentenced to a two-year deferred sentence on Aug. 16, 2023, and 129 days in jail, which he had already served at the time of the sentencing. Taylor Swift has regained control of her music, buys back first 6 albums A member of Taylor Swift's security team also provided a declaration to the court, noting that he's worked for her for 14 years. He said that Wagner began trying to contact Swift in 2023 while incarcerated. The security team member said that in 2024, his team learned that Wagner had allegedly attempted to stop mail service to Swift's home after being alerted by the Postal Service. He said that Wagner then attempted to get a California driver's license that listed Swift's address as his, and the team learned of the matter when the ID was shipped to the property. The security professional said that when Wagner tried to visit Swift's home in May of this year, he also sent over 26 emails to her staff during the same time. He's now subject to the temporary restraining order, preventing him from legally trying to contact or harass Swift and requiring that he stay at least 100 yards away from her until June 30, when a hearing on the matter will be held. Disney & Comcast Finally Settle on a Price for Hulu
Disney (DIS) and Comcast's (CMCSA) NBC Universal have reached an agreement for Hulu. NBC Universal has exercised its put/call agreement that requires Disney to acquire its remaining 33% stake in Hulu, which is something Disney already wanted. Confident Investing Starts Here: Disney already paid NBC Universal $8.6 billion for its Hulu stake. Following three appraisals of the remaining value it owes for the Hulu stake, it will pay another $438.7 million to NBC Universal. This agreement is expected to close by July 24, 2025. Disney is expected to exclude the Hulu payment from its adjusted earnings per share, meaning it won't affect the company's current guidance. It will also list the payment as Net income attributable to noncontrolling interests, which will reduce its Net income attributable to Disney in its fiscal third quarter. What This Means for Hulu With this deal, Disney will take full ownership of Hulu. The streaming service was previously split three ways between Disney, Comcast, and Fox. However, Disney boosted its Hulu stake to roughly two-thirds with its $71.3 billion purchase of Twenty-First Century Fox in 2019. It then announced plans in 2023 to take full control of Hulu through a deal with Comcast. After Disney obtains Hulu, it will generate profits from all 50 million of the streaming service's subscribers. This will bring its total subscriber count to 180.7 million, including Disney+ and ESPN+. Disney will also gain the ability to freely integrate Hulu into its streaming services. DIS stock was down slightly on Tuesday while shares of CMCSA scored a slight increase. Turning to the TipRanks comparison tool, traders will see which stock analysts prefer. Disney has the better consensus rating at Strong Buy, compared to Comcast's Moderate Buy. Even so, its price target of $124.53 only offers a potential 7.67% upside, compared to CMCSA's $40.86 and 18.09% upside.
