LEíO IS THE MVP FROM GENOA v AC MILAN
AC Milan secured a thrilling 2-1 victory at Marassi against Genoa, with Rafael Leão delivering an exceptional performance. Coming on in the 28th minute, Leão transformed the game, scoring the equaliser in the 76th minute and playing a part in Frendrup's own goal. His energy and determination propelled the Rossoneri to a crucial win.
Leão bagged the equaliser with an effort that deflected off Norton-Cuffy (Gimenez assist) and deceived the keeper, paving the way for the comeback. His presence on the pitch troubled the opposing defence, creating spaces and opportunities for his teammates. Every move he made was a constant threat to Genoa, who struggled to contain him.
With 2 shots on target and 12 accurate passes, Leão proved to be an indispensable asset for AC Milan. His ability to impact the game was evident, not only through his goal but also in maintaining offensive pressure. His performance was a testament to his leadership and talent.
With 48% of the votes, he surpassed Maignan (44%) and Félix (4%) in the race for the MVP award. A performance that bodes well for the future, with hopes of continuing on this path. Well done Leão, keep it up!

Jordan Spieth Names Best American Athlete Without Hesitation

Jordan Spieth Names Best American Athlete Without Hesitation originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Three-time major winner Jordan Spieth is gearing up for one of golf's toughest tests: the 125th U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club, set to tee off on Thursday. Advertisement As the PGA Tour season heats up, Spieth finds himself in familiar territory, competing among golf's elite, while also weighing in on a question that has ignited debate across sports: Who is the best American athlete right now? In a video posted by the PGA Tour on X on Wednesday, Spieth was among several Tour pros asked to name the best American athlete currently competing. Without a moment's hesitation, Spieth pointed to NBA superstar Stephen Curry, stating, "I mean, I love Steph Curry. Is he the greatest athlete in the world right now? He's probably one of them." With both being flagship Under Armour athletes, Spieth and Curry have a long history together. Advertisement Spieth extended his Under Armour apparel and footwear deal in 2022 to run through 2029, serving as one of the brand's premier golf ambassadors. Curry, meanwhile, has been with Under Armour since 2013, launching his own Curry Brand sub-label in 2020 and starring in joint promotional and charitable events alongside Spieth as cross-sport ambassadors for the company. So, Spieth's endorsement of Curry comes as no surprise. Golden State Warriors star Steph Edmondson-Imagn Images Even still, his pick isn't entirely inaccurate. Curry's haul of four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022), two MVP awards (including the only unanimous vote in 2016) and status as the NBA's all-time leader in 3-pointers (4,058) already make him one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Advertisement Combine this with a 2024 Olympic gold medal and his transformative impact on basketball, ushering in the era of the 3-point revolution, and Curry's resume argues compellingly for his standing as America's top athlete right now. San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey is poised to return to his MVP-level play from two seasons ago.

San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey is poised to return to his MVP-level play from two seasons ago. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The San Francisco 49ers are desperate to return to playoff contention after falling to the bottom of the NFC West after winning the entire conference the year prior. Advertisement One major factor in that bounce back is the health of star running back Christian McCaffrey. When he is available, McCaffrey remains one of the best players in the NFL and one of the most versatile running backs in league history. Unfortunately, he has dealt with major injuries throughout his illustrious career, forcing him to play less than 10 games in half of his eight NFL seasons. Last year, he only suited up in four games for the Niners after dealing with Achilles and knee issues. This offseason, however, McCaffrey appears to be back near full health. He is putting every ounce of his energy toward performing like his 2023 self again, where he won Offensive Player of the Year with over 2,000 all-purpose yards. Head coach Kyle Shanahan had some notable remarks about McCaffrey's work ethic during this week's mandatory minicamp. Advertisement 'If I said it, I'd be making up because Christian is — I mean, he is a psycho in a good way and so like he does everything imaginable every single day,' Shanahan told reporters, via the team transcript. "Last year he couldn't because he was battling injury all last year. And this year he is healthy, so he is right back to being who he is always been and it's really fun to watch.' His San Francisco tenure is still rather young, but the 49ers offense clearly runs smoother with McCaffrey effective in the backfield. His record-breaking season directly correlated to the team's dominance on the way to a Super Bowl berth two years ago. Last year, the dependent relationship was proven again in his absence. In 2023, McCaffrey ran for 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns. He added 67 catches for 564 yards and seven more scores through the air. Advertisement If he can produce anything near those totals in 2025 - and most of all, stay healthy - the 49ers will be poised for an immediate return to contention in the NFC.
