Bayern hold fresh talks over Leão transfer
Following their failure to land Florian Wirtz, Bayern Munich have shifted focus to alternative targets - with AC Milan's Rafael Leão emerging as one of the main candidates. According to Kicker, Bayern officials held talks with Leão's representatives in Munich last week, with the Portuguese international not averse to making the move to Bavaria. Advertisement However, questions remain over whether Bayern can strike a deal with Milan. New head coach Massimiliano Allegri is said to be determined to keep Leão, and a potential transfer fee of €100 million has been floated. That figure is in the same region Bayern were reportedly willing to pay for Wirtz, who was seen as their top target. It's difficult to imagine the club valuing Leão at a similar level. Still, despite the obstacles, Leão's reported openness to a move provides Bayern with a solid starting point as they consider their next steps in the transfer market.

Bayern Munich held a meeting with Rafael Leão's representatives
Kicker report that Bayern Munich representatives held a meeting last week with the entourage of Milan forward Rafael Leão (25). With no new contract for Leroy Sané and Serge Gnabry's contract expiring in 2026, the Bundesliga champions exploring their options for reinforcements in the wide areas. Per the report, Leão is not averse to joining Bayern, who held a meeting with the Portuguese's representatives at the end of last week with the Rekordmeister showing genuine interest. Advertisement Leão – who scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists in 50 games for Milan last season – holds a contract with the Lombardy club until 2028. However, although there is interest from both the club and player, a potential stumbling block is Milan's valuation. Kicker cite Italian sources who claim that Milan want in excess of €100m for their prized asset, potentially too much for Bayern Munich who have also been priced out of a move for Florian Wirtz. Leão's meeting with Milan officials could decide future amid Bayern links
There will be a meeting held tomorrow between Milan officials and Rafael Leão's representatives, Corriere dello Sport reports. The Italian news source believes the player's future could be decided once the meeting finishes. Advertisement Leão is under contract until 2028 with a €175million release clause, which is an unrealistic figure to pay for most clubs. Should he decide to leave, Milan's initial asking price will be €130m, but after a disappointing season, it's not ruled out that this price could drop. Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr are ready to offer Leão €25million per year. Other options in Europe include Bayern but they wouldn't match such numbers.

There are a few fitness issues that need to be monitored, while Leão and Pulisic remain key components of the Diavolo's forward line. At the time of writing, the Giallorossi are in sixth place on 63 points following a long unbeaten run that relaunched their European ambitions. Ranieri's chosen system is a dynamic 3-5-2, with a highly interchangeable and mobile front two. With Paulo Dybala out injured, the task of playmaking falls to Matías Soulé.
