Leonardo DiCaprio is often regarded as one of the best actors working today. An Academy Award winner, the actor had a massive breakthrough with James Cameron's Titanic and went on to establish himself as a leading Hollywood star in the subsequent years. However, actor Manoj Bajpayee is not on the same page as everyone when it comes to Leonardo as an actor. In an interview with Chalchitra Talks from 2024, Manoj had said that Leonardo tries too hard as an actor on screen. During the interaction, when the host shared that he does not find Leo that good on screen, Manoj admitted and said he is on the same page as him. He then added, 'He works very hard. DiCaprio ka, aap bilkul sahi keh rahe ho (You are right). I don't blame you for thinking that way, ye thought mere mein bhi bohot baar aya hain (I have also felt the same). I tried to find out the reason. Usme mujhe bohot saare behind the scenes milein, kuch ek filmon ke (I saw some BTS clips from his films).'
He went on to say, 'I was not looking at anything, I was just looking at DiCaprio. And how he is before the shot. What is he doing between the shots. I realised that he is putting in too much. He is… bohot jyaada hard ho raha hain. Isiliye work nahi karta hain. His intent is great. Scorsese uske saath lagatar kaam kar raha hain. Jo woh karna chahta hain, jin cheezon ko woh support karta hain woh push karta in saare directors ke kaam ko… (It becomes too hard, that is why it does not work. But see how Scorsese works with him so many times. He pushes things he believes in and wants to be in those roles).'
Leonardo will be seen next in Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another. He is also starring in Martin Scorsese's next feature film.
Meanwhile, Manoj will be next seen in The Family Man season 3. He was last seen in the crime drama Despatch. The Kanu Behl film is available to watch on ZEE5.

BTS loses global dominance to rising K-pop stars who just beat Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish in album sales

BTS is just days away from their big June reunion, with a full-group music comeback likely dropping next year. While the legendary K-pop force that once ruled the global charts may be on track to snatch back their spotlight, part of which dimmed during their military enlistment, for now, The Hollywood Reporter has crowned SEVENTEEN as the 'the world's most successful K-pop band.' The 13-member boy band, formed in 2015, just cracked the global top 3 in album sales alongside pop stars like Taylor Swift, and beating Grammy history maker Kendrick Lamar. In their recent piece, The Edge of Seventeen, the outlet heaped praises on the group's rising cultural dominance, and how these artists are reinventing themselves, doing stadium tours bigger than Bruce Springsteen's and selling as many albums as Taylor Swift. The HYBE label boy band—also home to BTS—is managed by its subsidiary, Pledis Entertainment. SEVENTEEN consists of members Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The 8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. From giant posters and birthday banners to subway train ads and snack packs with their faces on, Seoul's drowning in SEVENTEEN mania as the group marks 10 years and drops their new album, Happy Burstday. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, in 2024, they were officially the biggest music group in the world in terms of album sales, only Taylor Swift and Drake ranked higher. SEVENTEEN beat out names like The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, and Kendrick Lamar. Big names, some with Academy Awards, others with straight-up Grammy hauls and cult-like followings. Their Asia tour (2023–2024) pulled in a jaw-dropping $98.4 million from just 24 shows, making it the highest-grossing K-pop tour of the year. But that momentum might be heading for a breather, with more members gearing up for enlistment. South Korea requires all men to serve before they hit 30. Jeonghan and Wonwoo have already reported for duty, and others are next in line. Happy Burstday came in swinging, over 2.2 million copies sold on day one. Wild to think back to 2015, when they debuted with 17 Carat and barely moved 1,400 units in the first week. 'We are standing at a new starting line, preparing for a new path ahead and ready to blaze a new trail,' S Coups said during the interview with the HR. 'Most of the members are going to enlist in the military soon. Up until now, we've mostly focused on our group promotions,' Hoshi, the leader of the band, added. 'We would like to show more of our individualities, each of the members' personalities and capabilities, so that when the time comes and we get back together again as a group, we'll be able to showcase ourselves as a better Seventeen.' It went on to become the second-highest first-week sales for a BTS album, right behind their 2020 release Map of the Soul: 7. According to The Korea Times, it sold over 2.75 million copies in the first week. Right now, every member of the group is focused on solo projects, with J-Hope on a world tour and Jin simultaneously holding concerts across South Korea. The group is set for a full comeback in June this year, with a possible musical return lined up for 2026.

World's most expensive film costs $1 billion, paid $250M in cast fees; may flop even if it out-earns Jurassic Park, LOTR

When James Cameron was making Titanic in the mid-1990s, reports of its extravagant budget had taken Hollywood by surprise. The film cost $200 million to make, and millions more were spent on its publicity and marketing. It took a windfall at the box office to ensure that Titanic did not sink (pun intended). So, imagine a film that is costing its makers several times more, and has a $250-million budget for cast salaries alone. The new most expensive film ever made is a gargantuan project that may put infrastructural undertakings to shame. Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) upcoming crossover event film Avengers: Doomsday will soon have the title of the world's most expensive film. Collider recently reported that Marvel has spent $8 million on its pre-production alone, more than thrice what was spent on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which eventually cost $388 million. Forbes also reported that the per-week production cost of Doomsday is twice as much as Quantumania, which has led to experts predicting that the film could cost Marvel Studios anything between $500-600 million. This is much higher than the production cost of Star Wars Episode IX, which currently holds the record with a production cost of $447 million. A post shared by Marvel Studios (@marvelstudios) But these are just the film's production costs. Marvel will spend millions of dollars more on marketing and publicity. Various reports have estimated that the two Avengers films—Doomsday and Secret Wars—could cost Disney and Marvel $1 billion each. Until Secret Wars begins production, this makes Avengers: Doomsday the most expensive movie ever. The cost of Avengers: Doomsday includes a heady dose of VFX, but is ballooned by its exorbitant cast. As many as 35 A-listers are to appear in the film in roles of varying lengths. Variety reported that cast salaries alone can cross $250 million for the film. If Doomsday does touch the landing cost of $1 billion as predicted, it needs to be a massive success at the box office just to be profitable. After including the distribution costs, the film would need to earn substantially more than $1 billion to break even. This means even if Doomsday earns more than blockbusters like Jurassic Park ($912 million) and the Lord of the Rings films (average gross of $987 million for the three films), it may end up being a box office failure. Directed by the Russo Brothers, Doomsday will be the fifth Avengers film and the 39th film in the MCU overall. The film features an ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr. It will feature the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the X-Men team up to face Doctor Doom (Downey). The film is slated for release on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
