1-year NDA rule is nothing but deception: Bhumana
Tirupati: The one-year NDA rule in the State is nothing but deception and cheating the people, stated YSRCP general secretary and ex MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
Addressing party activists, who staged a protest at RDO office on Wednesday observing Vennupotu Dinam, Bhumana said the only thing the NDA government did was attacking opposition YSRCP leaders and filed 2,466 cases against party leaders for exposing the government cheating the people by not implementing its promises. He said Arogyasri health scheme which was a boon for the poor to avail corporate hospital treatment was spoiled and Ammaku Vandanam, Rs 3,000 monthly allowance to unemployed were forgotten.
Asserting that, the YSRCP will not be afraid of false cases of intimidation and harassment, Bhumana said the party will fight with renewed vigor to force the NDA government to fulfill its promises for the sake of poor.
Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr Sirisha said the TDP deliberately cheated the people by giving tall promises at the time of elections to get votes, she said responding to the call given by party Chief and Ex CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to observe Vennupotu Dinam state wide the party workers staged protests. She said the party will mobilize the people for the implementation of super six and other promises given at elections.
Tirupati YSRCP incharge Bhumana Abhinay Reddy, MLC Dr Cipai Subramanyam, Vasu Yadav, Dinesh Royal, Ketham Jayachandra Reddy, and party activists were present.

Centre simplifies GFR rules for procurement of scientific equipment, consumables
New Delhi: In a major step towards the ease of doing research, the General Finance Rules (GFR) have been simplified for procurement of scientific equipment and consumables, said Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology on Saturday. GFRs are the governing financial regulations for the government, outlining procedures for managing public finances. Applicable to Central government ministries, departments, for autonomous bodies with their own approved financial regulations, the GFRs cover aspects like budgeting, procurement, expenditure, and accounting. In a post on social media platform X, Singh noted that the move will enhance autonomy for young researchers. 'Here is a heartening news and a major breakthrough for young aspiring startups, innovators, and researchers: In a landmark step enabling ease of doing research, the GFR rules have been simplified for procurement of scientific equipment and consumables,' Singh said. 'This will reduce delays, also enhance autonomy and flexibility for research institutions -- empowering them to innovate faster,' he added. The MoS also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'for this transformative reform which will accelerate the technology-driven journey of Viksit Bharat'. An Office Memorandum, dated June 5, permitted Vice-Chancellors, directors of scientific organisations, and academic institutions 'to make non-Government e-Marketplace (GeM) procurement of scientific equipment and consumables'. The order is valid only for departments of Science and Technology; Biotechnology; Scientific and Industrial Research; Atomic Energy; Space; Earth Sciences; Defence Research and Development Organization; Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), including its affiliated institutions and Universities; Health Research (DHR), including Indian Council of Medical Research; educational and research institutes conducting post-graduate/ doctoral level courses or research, under any Ministry/ Department, the memorandum said. With the simplified rules, the limit of purchase of goods without quotation has been increased from the current Rs. 1,00,000 to Rs. 2,00,000. Similarly, the limit on the purchase of goods by the Purchase Committee has been increased to Rs. 2,00,000 and up to Rs. 25,00,000. For the Limited Tender Enquiry (LTE), the amended limit is up to Rs. 1 crore, while for Advertised Tender Enquiry, the new limit is above Rs. 1 crore, the memorandum said. The amendment is likely to provide greater flexibility to scientific Ministries to import and buy equipment necessary for research.

Mithi River desilting: ED summons actor Dino Morea, BMC officials
At least eight people, including actor Dino Morea, his brother, and some BMC officials have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate for questioning next week in a money laundering case linked to an alleged ₹65 crore worth Mithi River desilting "scam", official sources said on Saturday (June 7, 2025). The notices came after the federal probe agency on Friday (June 6, 2025) searched more than 15 premises linked to these people in Mumbai in Maharashtra and Kochi in Kerala. "Around eight to nine people, including actor Dino Morea, his brother Santino and some Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, have been asked to appear before the agency at the ED office in Mumbai on different dates next week," a source said. Their statements will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) once they depose, he said. Dino Morea's house in the Bandra (West) area, apart from premises linked to his brother, and those of BMC officials and contractors, were searched by the ED on Friday. The ED case stems from a Mumbai Police economic offences wing (EOW) FIR filed in May against 13 people, including contractors and civic officials, for an alleged Rs 65.54 crore scam in the tenders awarded from 2017-2023 for desilting of the Mithi River which flows through Mumbai and acts as a stormwater drainage channel for the metro city. The Uddhav Thackeray-led undivided Shiv Sena controlled the cash-rich BMC from 1997 till the party's split in 2022. After the expiry of the general body in 2022, the civic body was controlled by the state government, which was then headed by Eknath Shinde. It was alleged by the police in its complaint that BMC officials tailored the tender for the desilting contract in such a way that it benefited a particular supplier of machinery, and the contractors reportedly generated fraudulent bills for transporting the sludge out of Mumbai. Morea and his brother were questioned by the Mumbai Police EOW in this case last month. The 49-year-old actor has been questioned twice by police. The Morea brothers, it is understood, were questioned by the police about their alleged links with alleged middleman Ketan Kadam, arrested in the case along with another accused, Jai Joshi, apart from some financial transactions made in a company linked to Santino. Kadam and Joshi, according to police, were involved in the renting out of 'silt pusher' machines and multi-purpose amphibious pontoon machines to contractors who were carrying out Mithi river desilting work. This is the second time that the actor has been in the crosshairs of the ED, as, in 2021, the agency had attached his assets as part of a money laundering investigation linked to an alleged bank fraud case against Gujarat-based pharmaceutical company Sterling Biotech and its promoters. The plan to desilt the river was planned by the Mumbai civic authorities following the 2005 floods, which brought the city to a grinding halt.

Uttarakhand CM Dhami directs officials to complete construction works on time
Uttarakhand CM Dhami Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level review meeting with Kumaon division-level officials in Nainital on Friday. According to an official release, public representatives and senior administrative officers of six districts of Kumaon division-Nainital, Almora, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar-were present in this meeting. The Chief Minister discussed the schemes being run by the Central Government and the State Government in the division. He said that there is a need for public representatives and officers to coordinate with each other and work on the ground by organizing public darbars and chaupals to solve the problems of the people. "So that even the person standing at the last end benefits from the schemes of the government" He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, "contribute to the work going on in the district. Our resolution is to end corruption and for this the number 1064 has been started." The Chief Minister asked the district officials to "make a schedule to sit in their office from 10 to 1:00 so that people coming from far away can meet them and put forward their point." The Chief Minister directed to complete all the construction works in a quality manner within the stipulated time frame. He said that strict action will be taken against the concerned officials if the work is not done as per the standards or there is unnecessary delay. Reviewing the progress of the JamrDam Project in the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the rehabilitation package has been approved and the master planning has been completed. "The main dam construction work will be started before the monsoon. This project will play an important role in increasing the irrigation capacity for both the states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh" The Chief Minister directed to further speed up the revival efforts of Sukha Tal. He informed that this work is being done by the Drinking Water Department under the Namami Gange Scheme and the work of promotion and beautification of Sukha Tal Lake in Nainital district is in progress at a cost of Rs 2916.00 lakh. Discussing the overall development of Kainchi Dham area, the Chief Minister asked to give priority to the development work of all the necessary facilities there. The Chief Minister said that the work of beautification and illumination is in progress at Shri Kainchi Dham under Manaskhand Mandir Mala at a cost of Rs 2815.68 lakh. He informed about the progress on the master plan for Almora Medical College and said that the budget of Pithoragarh Medical College has been doubled. He said that ensuring the availability of all the state-of-the-art facilities in the border area is the top priority of the government. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reiterated that the Uttarakhand government will not tolerate corruption at any level. The Chief Minister directed to suspend Superintending Engineer Shivam Dwivedi in Kashipur on a complaint by the District Magistrate of Udham Singh Nagar under Jal Jeevan Mission. He also directed the officials to conduct regular public hearings, adopt solution-based work style and immediately resolve the problems of the public at the local level through camps. He also said that the vigilance system is being made more strong and active in the state. "Now the government will directly and decisively intervene in cases of corruption. If an officer of any level is found guilty, he will be given severe punishment. However, he will also be given a fair hearing and an opportunity to explain." The Chief Minister said that our priority is to make the "dreams of the people come true". Uttarakhand has already become a leader in the country in many areas and now we have to ensure that the state reaches the top position in other areas as well.
