This thing could become bigger than equities, analyst says

When it comes to investing, most people think of stocks. But Mizuho Americas senior financial technology analyst Dan Dolev says there is something that could become bigger than equities. Find out what it is in the video above.

You know, Dan, as you mentioned, they're trying to push into some trading of some other asset classes, um and also into tokenization, right? Tokenization of assets. What do you make of that whole trend? And do you think that is gonna catch on both for Coinbase and others?
I think it could be bigger than equities, right? And and I think Robinhood has been proven to be sort of the the leader of the you know, the pack there. I mean, with that event that they did at the end of June, I mean, Coinbase is also doing that. But if you think about this, there's like an enormous appetite for investors to invest in private assets. Even institutional investors that I talked to, like my clients, and they just can't do this, and especially outside the US. It's even more difficult to do that. So if you're able to put it on the blockchain and let someone own a share of a private company this is like a expands the ten like dramatically for for everything. And also, companies are taking longer to go public. This is another trend or, you know, you're seeing like Stripe, right? They've been, you know, private forever, and everyone's like, when's the IPO, when's the IPO? Now, you can invest in Stripe privately, which you couldn't do before. So I view this as a massive leap in sort of the evolution of trading.
So interesting, so because I think some have proposed a tokenization even of things that are already public like equities, but it sounds like you think the real opportunity is more in private assets.
Great question. Private assets, real opportunity, both US and outside the US. Stocks mostly outside the US because it's really there's really not much to improve. I mean, Robinhood, for example, mostly they let you trade equities in the US for free. So let's say you're offering you know, tokenized stocks, like public stocks, in the US. I'm not sure what problem it solves, but outside the US, think about it. Like trading commissions are very high, you have to get on the brokerage stack. Like this thing just like lets you get off the brokerage stack, makes everything quick, efficient, cheap. It's a huge innovation for people wanting to invest in US equities outside the US.

Apple made a 24k gold and glass statue for Donald Trump

At a White House press conference to discuss Apple's new US manufacturing plans, CEO Tim Cook presented a gift to President Donald Trump: a 'unique' piece of glass from iPhone glass manufacturer Corning that's set in a 24-karat gold base. The piece of glass is a large disc with the Apple logo cut into it. On the top of the glass, President Trump's name is printed. On the bottom, there's a signature that appears to be Cook's as well as the message 'Made in USA' and the year 2025. The glass was designed by a 'former US Marine Corps corporal' who works at Apple, according to Cook. The base 'comes from Utah.' Cook is well-known for his ability to foster a relationship with President Trump, and shortly after Trump was elected for his second term, CEOs reportedly looked to replicate Cook's relationship-building skills. Trump has threatened Apple and other phone manufacturers with tariffs unless they bring manufacturing to the US.
