Typical summer pattern continues – morning fog, humid, and pop-up afternoon storms
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Good Wednesday morning! Cloudy and humid to start the day with some areas of fog developing behind some overnight showers and storms.
Throughout the morning expect mostly cloudy skies to persist with the sunshine popping out later this afternoon and evening. Highs climb into the upper 80s today while staying very humid.
More of the same ole heading into the overnight, with mostly cloudy skies, seasonal readings, and possibly some areas of fog developing by daybreak.
Remainder of the week will see readings nose closer to the low 90s as rainfall chances remain limited in the afternoon and evening with afternoon pop-up showers and storms.
For Father's Day Weekend, we are tracking a better chance of shower and storm coverage in the afternoon as we tap gulf moisture. Temperatures remain seasonal with temperatures near 90.

Lake Jacksonville, Lake Tyler temporarily closes due to heavy rainfall
TYLER, Texas (KETK)– Lake Jacksonville, Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East announced Thursday morning that they have all temporarily closed due to heavy rainfall and high water levels. According to the City of Jacksonville, the lake is currently closed to the public until further notice because of high water levels to ensure the safety of residents and visitors. 'Please be advised that high water levels may be present on some area roadways,' the city said. 'Motorists are urged to exercise caution and avoid driving through standing or moving water.' Thursday Morning Forecast: Another round of storms The City of Tyler said Lake Tyler and Lake Tyler East has temporarily closed all public boat ramps because of boating hazards resulting from debris washed into the lakes by the recent rains and to reduce damage from the shoreline erosion caused by boat wakes. Isolated afternoon showers and storms, again
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Warm and humid conditions continue this week. Expect highs near 90 this afternoon. Relief from the steamy setting should take place in the late afternoon/ early evening in the form of a shower or storm. Rain chances are about the same, if not slightly lower today than the past two afternoons. Just be mindful that any storm that does develop could produce a brief moment of heavy rain. Locally we start off dry, but heavy rain and flooding is taking place to our west in SE TX. These storms will impact western LA later today. Isolated showers are beginning to develop along the Louisiana coast. Father's day is this Sunday and rain showers, along with a few thunderstorms are still expected in the afternoon. Sunday morning will not be completely dry across the area, but much lower chances for rain occur before noon. Sunday afternoon and evening is looking pretty soggy across town.
